Debut theatrical feature film directed by Lawrence Dane. The picture remains his first, final an only ever cinema movie as director.
When Samantha (Cynthia Dale) is outside the movie theater handing out fliers, the three movie posters behind her are Never Cry Wolf (1983), Star 80 (1983), and Flashdance (1983).
The movie has often been considered to be a knock-off of 'Flashdance' (1982). Adding to this, the film actually features a movie poster of 'Flashdance' outside a theater. Moreover, the connection is much stronger, as slogans and taglines for the film also exalted that it was from the makers / creators of 'Flashdance'. In Italy, the movie was even named under the similar title of ''Scratch Dance''.
The movie, which was co-produced by Playboy Enterprises uncredited, shares its name with an early 1960s Russ Meyer film called Heavenly Bodies! (1963). Ironically, one of the the other production companies, RSL Entertainment, also the same year were responsible for an adult erotic thriller called Bedroom Eyes (1984).
