lights from ash of shadows.

today it is only the movie in which the young Florin Călinescu has central role. in "80's was a form to recreate Romanian past. the essence, after years is collaboration between members of a good team.Titus Popovici, Andrei Blaier, Ion Besoiu, Gina Patrichi, Cristian Sofron was parts of a strange project. to recreate a world more than page of propaganda. and success, little success was result of expectation of public. need of complicity, need of a fresh tale under ladder of Socialism. it is difficult to say more. time is lost, most of cast - just memories. but the movie is more than bone of regime or special object of entrainment. it is a testimony about vision of a political system. rules, lies, and smoke of real things. masks, terror. and a story like exercise of self definition.

trip in the past

it is not easy to define it. because it seems be part of a clock. the political context defines it. like many films from the same period. to understand the subtle references could be difficult and, maybe, not useful. but it has the virtue to be a precious trip in the past. for understand the courage and the science of a team to save memories. for the art of a great director and scriptwriter, magnificent actors and precise recreation of atmosphere. for the status of honest story. for the dialogues. and for the perspective about family and its virtues. for the characters. and, sure, for the alternative image about reality from a hostage society. "Lumii si umbre" remains a demonstration of fight against political command in inspired manner. and this does it more than interesting.
