Although Kristen Stewart’s Twilight movies launched her Hollywood career, the actress mentioned being overwhelmed by a major flaw in the films. Appearing to promote her new movie Love Lies Bleeding on Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Stewart discussed her cult classic character Bella Swan.
Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan in a still from Twilight
Kristen Stewart had previously spent five movies playing the clumsy heroine Bella Swan, who was smitten with the sparkling vampire Edward Cullen, in the Twilight saga. But while the actress totally adores her character, she mentioned one significant flaw in the plot of the film, that she would have never agreed with, in the present date.
Kristen Stewart Addressed Her Twilight Character
From creating headlines following her Rolling Stones photoshoot to being busy with her Love Lies Bleeding press tours, Kristen Stewart took some time out for Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.

While John Cena may have made headlines for appearing n*de at the Oscars, his legacy will always be made for the viral ‘You Can’t See Me’ meme. The WWE wrestler and actor has been the subject of a popular meme based on his entrance song The Time is Now. Cena’s lyric ‘You Can’t See Me’ sparked many users to always refer to John Cena as invisible.
While the meme has never gotten old in the years it has been a rage, John Cena recounted how his choices as a growing teen obsessed with rap in Massachusettes led to the viral meme in many ways. He also mentioned how his choices made him the subject of intense bullying as a child as he used to wear clothes that were part of the hip-hop culture that was not yet ‘cool’ at the time.

It’s Halloween! That means candy bars, pumpkin beer and, of course, the only proper way to get the day started: General Mills’ Monster cereals! And while we dig into bowls of Count Chocula, Franken Berry and Boo Berry on an annual basis, it turns out there were several more vying for a spot on supermarket shelves.
As posted on the Facebook page Vintage Cereal Boxes, Mascots And Premiums From The 1960s-1980s by Fred Hauck – whose father contributed to the designs – “Happy Halloween all you Monster lovers! Here are some of the concepts from my dads studio that didn’t make the cut. They are obviously trying on some different flavor profiles and mascots with these.”
In the vintage photos (embedded via collectingcandy’s Instagram), we see just what these discarded Monster cereals were: Apple Mummy, Applespider, Ella Vanilla, Vanilla Gorilla, Doctor Orangelove, OranGenie, R-r-r-r Orange, Professor Nutty, and Anna Banana,...

The cover of Time magazine once proclaimed Liv Ullmann “Hollywood’s new Nordic star,” a designation that never sat well with the Norwegian actress. She was a committed performer, starring in some of Ingmar Bergman’s greatest films of the Sixties and Seventies. She was an accomplished director, with a résumé that includes the Bergman-scripted 2000 gem Faithless. She became a vocal humanitarian, traveling to hardscrabble parts of the world as a Unicef ambassador. But a star? “I never became a star,” Ullmann tells Rolling Stone in a recent interview to...

So after just watching the SAG Awards on Sunday night, my first thought is, “Television is way overrated. Let’s put every awards show on livestream.” Seeing as how it worked out with the ceremony running on Netflix’s YouTube Channel, I’m thinking this should be made a permanent arrangement. I mean, I know that after Netflix signed a multiyear partnership last month with SAG-AFTRA to showcase the Screen Actors Guild Awards on the streaming platform itself beginning in 2024 after a quarter-century on TBS and TNT, there was fear this could mark the beginning of the end of civilization as we know it.
Clearly, the trepidation was entirely unjustified. Let’s just say I’m relieved this ceremony will remain in Netflix’s hands for the foreseeable future.

A time of division indeed.
The last two editions of Cannes, the critics IndieWire polled were in lockstep with the jury’s picks, at least for Best Film. In 2019, they chose “Parasite” and “Titane,” both winners of the Palme d’Or. In 2022, the critics are shaking things up.
This year’s Palme d’Or winner, “Triangle of Sadness,” tied with “Eo” for fourth place in our Best Film rankings. Consensus was not the order of the day this time around. And more critics voted in our survey than ever before: 75 in total, representing five continents and a couple of dozen countries.
The critics chose Lukas Dhont’s “Close” as the best film of the festival. The tender drama about two 13-year-old best friends sneered at by their classmates for being too “close” was described by some as “heartbreaking.” The emotional film did tie for the Grand Prix, but many thought...

Park Chan-wook had a great week at Cannes, winning Best Director for his new procedural “Decision to Leave.” The “Oldboy” auteur also gave movie lovers a hint about some of his upcoming projects, which, if he gets his way, will include a western, a science fiction film, and a remake of Costa-Gavras’s “The Ax.”
The world’s most prestigious festival has always been receptive to the South Korean auteur’s work, but films from his home country have been increasingly well-represented at Cannes in recent years. Bong Joon Ho’s “Parasite” memorably won the Palme d’Or in 2019 before going on to a major Oscars sweep that culminated in a historic Best Picture win.
Though Park was making acclaimed films long before Bong’s “Parasite” breakthrough, the director is thrilled to see more Korean films receiving international acclaim. In an interview with Variety, he praised the impact that “Parasite” had on the film industry.

Exclusive: Park Chan-wook’s anticipated Cannes Competition title Decision to Leave has sold to arthouse streamer, theatrical distributor and producer Mubi in what we understand to be the company’s biggest film deal to date.
Mubi, which has made waves in the past 12 months for its voracious appetite for significant festival movies and its acquisition of German sales firm The Match Factory, has picked up Decision to Leave for North America, the UK, Ireland, Turkey, and India.
The film will be released theatrically in the U.S. and the UK with a fall 2022 date planned, followed by an exclusive Mubi streaming release. Parasite outfit Cj is handling international sales and negotiated the deal with the growing arthouse player.
Korean-language thriller Decision to Leave charts the aftermath of a man falling from a mountain peak to his death. The detective in charge of the investigation, Hae-joon, comes to meet the dead man’s wife Seo-rae.

Liv Ullmann has been an international star since 1966’s Ingmar Bergman’s arthouse hit “Persona”; indeed, she is best-known for her collaborations with Bergman, acting in 10 of his films, and directing two of his screenplays; he was also the father of her daughter, author Lin Ullmann. But there’s more to her than that: She’s written two books, “Changing” (1976) and “Choices” (1979), and, more important, her activism.
Ullmann talked to Variety about acting in Bertolt Brecht’s “The Caucasian Chalk Circle” in Norway early in her career. In a war-torn area, her character discovers an abandoned baby. The director gave her advice valuable both in acting and in life: See things from both sides, and don’t turn away. Her life was changed with another production, the musical “I Remember Mama,” when Broadway shows raised funds for Cambodian refugees in 1979. The lesson then was similar: Don’t turn away.

In June 1997, singer-songwriter Billy Yates, whose hard-country vocals were reminiscent of Keith Whitley, released his self-titled debut album, populated with classic-leaning honky-tonk tunes all co-written by the Missouri native. Five years earlier, one of Yates’ most famous tunes became a minor radio hit and a major music-video event for country legend George Jones and a group of Jones’ disciples. “I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair” was a rallying cry aimed at country radio, whose narrow playlists were squeezing out older and more traditional country acts in favor of young pop-country hitmakers.

Buffy Summers is taking the fight to the mayor, but it's Willow who is the one that gets caught in the crossfire.
On Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 3 Episode 19, the Scoobies were tired of waiting until Mayor Wilkins and Faith's attack on Ascension Day. For Buffy to focus on her future, she needed to eliminate one of her remaining threats. Unfortunately, her haste required a lot of payments.
If you're a fan of Willow, "Choices" is the episode for you. Let's rewatch now to find out why.
Some of Buffy the Vampire Slayer's best moments were when the characters dealt with real-life issues as teenagers. For as much as they fought demons/vampires, they still had a future to focus on in between going to classes.
Having the Scoobies discuss their post-high school prospects felt very relatable.
High school is such a different world. You don't feel the reality...

With the announcement today that Disney has purchased Lucasfilm and that they plan to continue the Star Wars saga with episodes VII, VIII and IX rolling out every two years, we thought we'd throw out some casting choices for the iconic lead roles... of characters not under a helmet or heavy prosthetics. Obviously at this point, we don't know how far after the events of Return of the Jedi that the new films will take place, or how big of a role, if any, that these characters will play in the new films. This is all just for fun.

Merry Happy End 2010, everyone. There's something about the end of the year, probably having much to do with the annual trek back to the suburb where I grew up, that brings everything into a sharp, marzipan-tinged relief. Choices I made throughout the year were good or bad, people I love and people I'm thankful for are the most important, and my year in media condenses drastically as I have free time to take in the many end-of-the-year lists. I'm not one for end-of-the-year lists. I like lists, and as someone who has worked on the internet for almost a full decade, I know the value of content that can be skimmed first and read second. However, the end of the year is such an arbitrary time to make these lists. It's commercialism that's the motivator, like it always is. Everyone gets time off at the end of the year, time...

Super Bowl Sunday has come to be known as a holiday for football fans, but it’s also a memorable time for movie buffs. Over the last few decades, it’s no secret that million-dollar ads have nearly eclipsed the game itself, but high-profile film commercials are a relatively new phenomenon that has erupted over the last decade or so. With that in mind, and as we look forward to Sunday’s blockbusters, here are some flicks that unveiled crucial footage at Super Bowls past:
“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” (2009)
Last year’s biggest ad , a Variety survey showed that 83% of the people polled remembered seeing the trailer during Super Bowl – the most of any of the movie ads, which is unsurprising since it then went on to gross the most of any of the films advertised. Ashton Kutcher's love for chat website Twitter.com has hit a new high after the actor discovered his online followers could help him improve his movies.
The actor and his wife Demi Moore have been outspoken fans of the forum since last year, and Kutcher recently chalked up one million Twitter fans in a much-publicised cyber battle with news network CNN.
And now he's using 'tweets' to solve on-set dilemmas.
He reveals, "I was doing a movie and we had a scene that we were working on and we were trying to come up with a joke and we had the writers coming up with stuff and nothing was, like, ringing, and so I just went on Twitter and I asked my Twitter people... 'Give me a joke for this scene... and they gave me, like, 5,000 jokes that were like amazing. I tried a bunch of them."
And now Kutcher is considering doing away with screenwriters altogether and making a movie with his anonymous Twitter.com followers.
He adds, "We could actually do a movie and we'd like 'collabo-write' it with the people on Twitter."...

Model-turned-actor Ashton Kutcher hates attending fashion shows with his wife Demi Moore because he fears the actress will catch him staring at the "hot models" who strut the runways.
The former Calvin Klein poster boy - married to Moore for almost four years - often joins his wife she searches for designer clothes, donned by stunning models on the catwalk.
But the actor admits their trips to fashion events make him nervous, because he's constantly pretending he's not ogling other women in front of his wife.
