The female prisoner who is hung upside down is being lowered not into a tank of ferocious rats, but rather cute, cuddly gerbils.
The leading lady, prisoner Lise (credited as Daniella Levy, but now Daniella Poggi) sports superb 70's face makeup throughout her wartime camp internment ordeal: soft lip gloss, full black eyeliner to highlight her (faraway, hopeless look) dark eyes, perfectly plucked thick eyebrows and soft flyaway hair, plus, she is full body tanned e.g. in her roll in the bed scene with the sympathetic doctor, in a such stark contrast to his pale almost corpse-like body color, he in fact appears far more to be like he was incarcerated in a living hell camp!
And what's more, it hasn't changed in the updated to present day bookend scenes, as the style of her makeup is still exactly the same.
