After Vijay tells his mother that he will work so that Ravi can go to school, the scene cuts to him shining shoes. The man farthest away, wearing a suit, is leaning on his knee with his newspaper rolled up. After the next cut, that man is seen closest to the camera, and he is standing with his newspaper open, his right foot on the shoeshine box. He puts that foot down and puts his left foot on the box. The camera tracks two men getting out of a car, going to a newsstand to get racing forms, and approaching the shoeshine boys. The man in the suit has his right foot back on the box, then puts his left foot up on it again. It looks like he was instructed to create movement for the camera because usually, you finish shining one shoe before going to the other.
When Anand Verma (Satyen Kappoo) returns signing agreement with mill owners, it's raining outside. The water sprayed artificially for rain effect can be seen on left corner of the screen.
