DOST is a good film on friendship by Dulal Guha.The film reveals a plot of Dharmendra who is brought up by a priest, the priest dies when he is sent to study MA elsewhere, when he returns he is told about the sad news which makes him to move to mumbai, where he meets Shatrughan Sinha who thug, slowly he redeems him and brings him to the right path.
The film is well handled with emotions and drama, there are some funny scenes too, The subject is handled well by Dulal Guha. The film has various subplots too like Hema's father who plays a shady character which results in a predictable climax but yet it's well handled.
Direction is good Music by LP is amazing, the song Gaadi Bula rahi Hai is still famous, sung brilliantly by Kishore Kumar, rest songs are good
Dharmendra underplays his role and does a great job, Hema Malini too is amazing in her role, Shatrughan Sinha displays a flair for comedy rarely seen normally and he does a good supporting act The rest are all good Amitabh Bachchan makes an uncredited appearance as Dharmendra's friend
