When Chito is regains consciousness at the end, he sees the prisoner in the jail cell and asks why is the prisoner in the cell because he thought the prisoner had escaped. Chito was knocked out from behind and couldn't have known anything about the attempted escape.
Chito was guarding the prisoner sitting on a chair in front of the door and got knocked over when the door was breached and then hit on the head. He would be justified in assuming there had been an attempted jailbreak and that with him unconscious that the prisoner had escaped.
When Terry Moran shows off her shooting skills in the newspaper office, she shoots several clay jugs on a shelf. But there are no bullet holes in the wall behind the jugs proving they were not broken by a bullet.
The establishing shot at the beginning of the film says the year is 1893, but when the telegram from the new marshal arrives it's dated 1890.
When trying to loosen the sink trap, the deputy uses his pistol to unscrew the trap. He removes the trap then proceeds to empty the water back into the sink, which would then fall to the floor because the trap is in his hands.
