Sherwood (Alan Ladd) beds down in the cave with his shirt off, but when he wakes up the next day, his shirt is back on.
Capt. Sherwood incorrectly ascribes the quote by General Philip Sheridan, "If a crow should fly over the Shenandoah Valley it would have to carry its own rations" to General William Tecumseh Sherman.
Sherman never fought in the Shenandoah, he was in the Western Theater and Quantrill was certainly no General.
William Quantrill was not killed in the West. He was killed by Union soldiers on 6 June 1865 in Louisville, KY. He was 27.
When Quantrill and Sherwood are by the group of dead union soldiers and the Indians signal them with the mirror, the shadow of a crew member is clearly moving at the lower right of the screen while both actors are stationary.
