Warning: Spoilers
The print was bad and the voices were out of sink. I wasn't surprised that Ursula Herking, women make better diplomats, make love to me ,Kora Terry, was in a pro war n military Nazi propaganda. Nor was I surprised that character comedy actor Rudolph Carl, Dances of the king, also was in a pro military war Nazi propaganda film. Back then actors did both entertainment propaganda and war military propaganda back then in Germany. The title is the name of Rene Deltgens character, Hannes Hallgarten. The story is about the lives of Nazi soldiers in war and their love ones,I think.Maria Andergast plays his love one, They both played husband and wife separated a year later in the big game. You see in this picture where the soldiers take command from their officers. You see them doing different assignments. One scene you see Rena and maria a at a park area having a disagreement.another a bunch of soldiers are in a hospital bunk some where. I think the soldiers mistake this bunk for the enemy but when they come in everyone laughs because they realized it was one of them, another scene is where a German soldier is caught by either British or American. The alleged enemy ,our side, speaking English one of them asked the German captive in his language why was he in that spot where he was caught. This movie had some real war footage with portrayed footage, If the print was better i could of understood the story.I don't know if Reich's Kino or war films .come has this movie Up date 07/17/11. Got the story clearly. It's about two members of the Bavarian troops who fall in love with the same girl.Maria Anderpast. 09/01/11. I got a copy from www.reichskino.com and it was complete. The early one i saw the ending was missing.Well Rene and Maria have a big spat over Paul Klinger. Than he decides to go back to action. Klinger get rescued by his troop. Ren does some courageous duty by grabbing an out door phone and telling the soldiers to stop the action and he dies.It still not restored. It's a shrunk battered 35 mm print on a second a third generation copy video, But in spite of this it's a good story even through the Nazis were bad.
