- A wagon train of settlers, led by John Bradford (Lafe McKee), is heading for Placerville, but the local Cattleman's Association, influenced by Fletcher (Glenn Strange), doesn't want the settlers taking over the ranch lands, and hires Fletcher's gang to discourage them. Ed Cameron (David Sharpe), is sent to town to buy horses to replace the ones poisoned by Feltcher's henchmen. There, he is killed by Fletcher. Ed's brother, Jack (Jack Randall), goes to Placerville to look for him, and Fletcher tells him that Ed went to Mexico with the money.
