In the opening scene, Millicent tells Oliver, "I see your precious Carlotta Vance arrived yesterday on the Europa." Later that same day, during Carlotta's visit to Oliver's office, she says, "I've been in New York four days and I'm lost."
As Dan is talking to her, Carlotta holds her suddenly unlit cigarette in her left hand. As she crosses to the door to exit, the cigarette shifts to her right hand and is lit again.
When Carlotta gives Ed her dog, introducing him as "Tarzan", her lips don't match the word. She is saying "Mussolini", but the line was changed.
Everyone was to gather for dinner at 8:00, and Millicent, the hostess, had said that she had planned for the group to go to the Broadway play "Say It With Music" and to a nightclub after that. How could they do this? Curtain time then was, at the latest, 8:30, and the high-toned crowd wolfing down a carefully prepared meal and dashing across town to a theater is not plausible. No one in that assemblage, except for Kitty seemed likely to go in for late-night clubbing.
Carlotta says at one point, "Didn't do so badly for a little girl from Quincy, Illinois, eh Ducky?" She pronounces "Illinois" as "Illi-noise," something no true native of Illinois would condone.
