- An adaptation of Annie Ernaux's novel of the same name, looking back on her experience with abortion when it was still illegal in France in the 1960s.
- The summer holidays begin, Nicolas and his family travel to the seaside where a whole new series of adventures await them.
- Molinat is assigned to the case of a man found with a bullet in his ear on the shore of a little Atlantic-coast resort he knows well. Indeed, he used to live there before his wife disappeared at sea, never to be seen again. As the ocean rejects a new corpse every day, the mystery thickens and the list of potential suspects lengthens. This slows Molinat's progress as much as the cumbersome Leroyer, sent in to spy on him and hopefully impede his progress. The tension mounts and the ring involving the three young ladies in the grey mansion, the village idiot, and the real-estate agent spins out of control.
- Matthias is the younger of the two Landberg brothers. While his brother David has followed in their father's footsteps on the path to success, Matthias lives his life far away from ambitions and career options. He shares his family's holiday home at the French Atlantic coast with his girlfriend Camille and her 6-year-old son Etienne from a previous relationship. Together they idle about day after day. The story begins when David and his wife Lena arrive with the intention of spending their holiday in the family home. Matthias' carefree days are over in a beat, David's presence changes everything. Within ten minutes after his arrival, David insists on sleeping in the room Matthias and Camille have made their own and demands that Etienne is brought to his father, as he wants peace and quiet. Matthias quietly complies because "what David wants, David gets" has been a rule for him from early age on. Camille, however, disgusted by David's bossy behavior, and unwilling to accept his air of entitlement and superiority, secretly concocts a plan to rearrange the pecking order between the two brothers. Her cunning maneuvers make for many surprises!
- A group of 4 girls decide to revise for their exams together, in the summer vacation. They move from Paris to the countryside, where Valerie's grandmother has a vacant house. The film is all about their inter-personal relationships, and how living together effects each of them. Then Valerie's male cousin arrives one day, and we see how they deal with the young man, and vice versa.
