- Two married anthropologists go to an island off of Papua New Guinea for field research.
- "Durch die Nacht" tells the story of the student Alex. Due to a chain of unfortunate circumstances Alex is forced to spend Saturday night in downtown Zurich. It is an odyssey through the streets of the city during which Alex meets a number of very strange characters.

- A German energy engineer has been found dead in a burnt-out car off the main road in the African Namib desert. The Namibian police rule out an accident and the victim's wife and business partner Maja Reichardt is suspected to be involved in the death of her husband. She has only two hours to convince the German embassy staff of her innocence. If she fails she will be transferred to the local judiciary facing months of pretrial detention. Unfortunately diplomatic officer Kirsten Buresch who has to take the final decision feels that Maja is suffering from paranoia and therefore might have had a reason to kill her husband.
- Monsieur Brucco is an Albanian working for 20 years in the same Swiss company. He has previously been told to have supposedly French roots, so he is trying hard to be as French as in any way possible. One day he cuts his long finger and is certified permanently unfit for work by Doctor Schweizer who is the father of Anneli, Brucco's secret crush. As Brucco is reluctant to accept the life of an early-retiree he is contemplating a career change. So he finally becomes a door-to-door salesman for toys. After a mix-up he also becomes the target of the local mafia.
- Maitel and her lovely assistant Malina are producing a successful Internet Vlog. The filming of the latest episode is taking place in and around Zaliza's countryside Villa. Zaliza's peculiar butler however, seems to have a pretty dark past.
- The boom in Ireland, the so-called Celtic Tiger, ended abruptly in 2007, leaving thousands of people in negative equity and financial hardship. We follow Chris, a struggling man who contemplates his existence in modern society. We see a country ruled by bankers which is slowly falling apart.
- Metropolitan police inspector Dupin had previously been relocated to rural Britanny. His second case starts off on a remote island where the corpses of three drugged sailors were washed upon the shore. Dupin has to deal with sullen islanders and at the same time he wants to keep his ex-girlfriend in a good mood as she has traveled to visit him all the way from Paris.
