Lucy Boynton (born 17 January 1994) is an American-English actress. She made her film debut with a leading role in Miss Potter (2006). Boynton's credits include Copperhead (2013), Sing Street (2016), Murder on the Orient Express (2017) and Bohemian Rhapsody (2018).
Boynton was born in New York City and grew up in London. She is the daughter of British-born Graham Boynton, the Group Travel Editor of the Telegraph Media Group, and Adriaane Pielou, a travel writer. She has an older sister, Emma Louise Boynton. She attended Blackheath High School, followed by James Allen's Girls' School.
Boynton's first professional role was as the young Beatrix Potter in the 2006 British-American film Miss Potter (2006). Boynton has said that the first day of filming was "the best day of [her] life." In 2007, she was nominated for the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film - Supporting Young Actress, for Miss Potter.
She went on to play Posy Fossil, one of three main characters in the BBC film Ballet Shoes (2007), in 2007. Posy is a young, ambitious ballerina who is taken under the wing of a prestigious dance academy. She did not dance in Ballet Shoes, instead a body double was used for her character's dancing scenes. Boynton also played the role of Margaret Dashwood in the BBC serial Sense & Sensibility (2008). In 2011, Boynton played a guest lead on Inspector Lewis (2006). She appeared in Mo (2010) with Julie Walters and David Haig. Jim Carrey, Canadian-born and a U.S. citizen since 2004, is
an actor and producer famous for his rubbery body movements and
flexible facial expressions. The two-time Golden Globe-winner rose to
fame as a cast member of the Fox sketch comedy
In Living Color (1990) but
leading roles in
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994),
Dumb and Dumber (1994) and
The Mask (1994) established him as a
bankable comedy actor.
James Eugene Carrey was born on January 17, 1962 in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, and is the youngest of four children of Kathleen (Oram), a homemaker,
and Percy Carrey, an accountant and jazz musician. The family surname
was originally "Carré", and he has French-Canadian, Scottish, and Irish
ancestry. Carrey was an incurable extrovert from day one. As a child,
he performed constantly, for anyone who would watch, and even mailed
his résumé to
The Carol Burnett Show (1967)
at age 10. In junior high, he was granted a few precious minutes at the
end of each school day to do stand-up routines for his classmates
(provided, of course, that he kept a lid on it the rest of the day).
Carrey's early adolescence took a turn for the tragic, however, when
the family was forced to relocate from their cozy town of Newmarket to
Scarborough (a Toronto suburb). They all took security and janitorial
jobs in the Titan Wheels factory, Jim working 8-hour shifts after
school let out (not surprisingly, his grades and morale both suffered).
When they finally deserted the factory, the family lived out of a
Volkswagen camper van until they could return to Toronto.
Carrey made his stand-up debut in Toronto after his parents and
siblings got back on their feet. He made his (reportedly awful)
professional stand-up debut at Yuk-Yuk's, one of the many local clubs
that would serve as his training ground in the years to come. He
dropped out of high school, worked on his celebrity impersonations
(among them Michael Landon and
James Stewart), and in 1979 worked
up the nerve to move to Los Angeles. He finessed his way into a regular
gig at The Comedy Store, where he impressed
Rodney Dangerfield so much that the
veteran comic signed him as an opening act for an entire season. During
this period Carrey met and married waitress Melissa Womer, with whom he
had a daughter (Jane). The couple would later go through a very messy
divorce, freeing Carrey up for a brief second marriage to actress
Lauren Holly. Wary of falling into the
lounge act lifestyle, Carrey began to look around for other performance
outlets. He landed a part as a novice cartoonist in the short-lived
sitcom
The Duck Factory (1984);
while the show fell flat, the experience gave Carrey the confidence to
pursue acting more vigorously.
Carrey also worked on breaking into film around this time. He scored
the male lead in the ill-received
Lauren Hutton vehicle
Once Bitten (1985), and had a
supporting role in
Peggy Sue Got Married (1986),
before making a modest splash with his appearance as the alien Wiploc
in
Earth Girls Are Easy (1988).
Impressed with Carrey's lunacy, fellow extraterrestrial
Damon Wayans made a call to his brother,
Keenen Ivory Wayans, who was in the
process of putting together the sketch comedy show
In Living Color (1990).
Carrey joined the cast and quickly made a name for himself with
outrageous acts (one of his most popular characters, psychotic Fire
Marshall Bill, was attacked by watchdog groups for dispensing ill-
advised safety tips).
Following his time on
In Living Color (1990),
Carrey's transformation from TV goofball to marquee headliner happened
within the course of a single year. He opened 1994 with a starring turn
in
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994),
a film that cashed in on his extremely physical brand of humor (the
character's trademark was talking out his derrière). Next up was the
manic superhero movie The Mask (1994),
which had audiences wondering just how far Carrey's features could
stretch.
Finally, in December 1994, he hit theaters as a loveable dolt in the
Farrelly brothers'
Dumb and Dumber (1994) (his first
multi-million dollar payday). Now a box-office staple, Carrey brought
his manic antics onto the set of
Batman Forever (1995), replacing
Robin Williams as The Riddler. He
also filmed the follow-up to his breakthrough,
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995),
and inked a deal with Sony to star in
The Cable Guy (1996) (replacing
Chris Farley) for a cool $20
million--at the time, that was the biggest up-front sum that had been
offered to any comic actor. The movie turned out to be a
disappointment, both critically and financially, but Carrey bounced
back the next year with the energetic hit
Liar Liar (1997). Worried that his
comic shtick would soon wear thin, Carrey decided to change course.
In 1998, he traded in the megabucks and silly grins to star in
Peter Weir's
The Truman Show (1998) playing a
naive salesman who discovers that his entire life is the subject of a
TV show, Carrey demonstrated an uncharacteristic sincerity that took
moviegoers by surprise. He won a Golden Globe for the performance, and
fans anticipated an Oscar nomination as well--when it didn't
materialize, Carrey lashed out at Academy members for their
narrow-minded selection process. Perhaps inspired by the snub, Carrey
threw himself into his next role with abandon. After edging out a
handful of other hopefuls (including
Edward Norton) to play eccentric
funnyman Andy Kaufman in
Man on the Moon (1999), Carrey
disappeared into the role, living as Kaufman -- and his blustery
alter-ego Tony Clifton -- for months (Carrey even owned Kaufman's bongo
drums, which he'd used during his audition for director
Milos Forman). His sometimes uncanny
impersonation was rewarded with another Golden Globe, but once again
the Academy kept quiet.
An indignant Carrey next reprised his bankable mania for the Farrelly
brothers in
Me, Myself & Irene (2000),
playing a state trooper whose Jekyll and Hyde personalities both fall
in love with the same woman
(Renée Zellweger). Carrey's real-life
persona wound up falling for her too--a few months after the film
wrapped, the pair announced they were officially a couple. By then,
Carrey had already slipped into a furry green suit to play the stingy
antihero of Ron Howard's
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000).
Although Carrey maintains a foothold in the comedy world with films
such as Bruce Almighty (2003) and
Mr. Popper's Penguins (2011),
he is also capable of turning in nuanced dramatic performances, as
demonstrated in films like
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
and the drama/comedy Yes Man (2008). In
2013, he costars with Steve Carell in
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013).
Carrey has one child with his first wife,
Melissa Carrey, whom he divorced in 1995.
He married actress Lauren Holly in 1996,
but they split less than a year later.- Actress

Zooey Deschanel was born in 1980 into a showbiz family. Her father,
Caleb Deschanel, is an Academy
Award-nominated cinematographer (perhaps most notably for
The Passion of the Christ (2004))
and her mother, Mary Jo Deschanel (née
Weir), is an actress who appeared in
Twin Peaks (1990). Her paternal

big break, at age 17, playing a model in the TV sitcom,
Veronica's Closet (1997).
She got her first film role, the following year, in
Mumford (1999), which prompted her to
quit university to pursue acting full-time. Mostly thanks to a role in
Cameron Crowe's popular biopic,
Almost Famous (2000), Zooey's rise
to fame has been steadily increasing as the 21st century wears on. Her
distinctive acting style found her critical acclaim in 2003, when she
was voted Best Actress at the Mar Del Plata Film Festival for her role
in David Gordon Green's

Widely regarded as the one of greatest stage and screen actors both in his native USA and internationally, James Earl Jones was born on January 17, 1931 in Arkabutla,
Mississippi. At an early age, he started to take dramatic lessons
to calm himself down. It appeared to work as he has since starred in
many films over a 40-year period, beginning with the
Stanley Kubrick classic
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964).
For several movie fans, he is probably best known for his role as Darth Vader in the original
Star Wars trilogy (due to his contribution for the voice of the role, as the man in the Darth Vader
suit was David Prowse, whose voice was
dubbed because of his British West Country accent). In his brilliant course of memorable performances, among others, he has also appeared on
the animated series
The Simpsons (1989) three times
and played Mufasa both in
The Lion King (1994) and The Lion King (2019), while he returned too as the voice of Darth Vader in

Leigh Whannell grew up in Melbourne, Australia, where, at the age of
four, he developed an obsession with telling stories. Whether it be
through acting, writing or filmmaking, his primary love was getting a
reaction from an audience. In 1995, at the age of 18, he was accepted
into the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology's prestigious Media
Arts course, where he met fellow filmmaker
James Wan. In his second year of college, he
landed the role of "film guy" on a Saturday morning TV show aimed at
teens called Recovery (1996). Filmed
totally live in the studio and hosted by actual teenagers, the
ground-breaking show was hugely popular down under and was the first to
bring "alternative culture" to Australia's TV screens, featuring live
performances from bands like Sonic Youth,
Weezer, Public Enemy,
Ben Harper,
Pulp and hundreds more. Hosting the film component
of the show, Leigh was lucky enough to interview people like
Tim Burton,
Peter Jackson,
Russell Crowe,
George Clooney, and eventually went on
the host the show in 1999. After graduating from college, Leigh found
himself working more and more as a "host" or "presenter" on Australian
TV - all the while hatching a plan with
James Wan to finally fulfill his dream of
making a film. Small acting roles cropped up from time to time
(including one in
The Matrix Reloaded (2003),
which Leigh has said was "the most fun I've ever had in my life") and,
along with those, some frustrating near-misses (and not so near-misses:
like his cringe-inducing audition for "Lord Of The Rings", in which he
paid $90 to have "hobbit ears" grafted onto his head, turning up at the
casting office dressed as a hobbit - needless to say he didn't get the
role). However, it was missing out on a role in
Alex Proyas Australian film
Garage Days (2002) that finally broke
the camel's back. He called Wan and told him that if they wanted to get
a film made, they would have to pay for it themselves.
Saw (2004) was born. After nine months of
writing, Leigh had written the screenplay for what he thought would be
a self-financed, "Blair Witch"-style feature, with him starring and
James directing. The script gained so much attention that soon enough,
they were shopping it around Hollywood....and the rest is history.- Actress

career in social theater groups after graduating from Kimhae High
School. Later, he joined Kee Kuk-seo's influential theater company with
its emphasis on instinctive acting and improvisation, which proved to
be Song's training ground. Although regularly approached to act in
films, he always turned down the opportunity until taking a role as an
extra in Hong Sang-soo's
The Day a Pig Fell Into the Well (1996).
In the following year, after portraying one of the homeless in
Jang Sun-woo's docu-drama
Bad Movie (1997), he gained
cult notoriety for his scene-stealing performance in
Neung-han Song
No. 3 (1997) as a gangster training a group
of young recruits, winning his first Best Actor award.
Since that time he was cast in several supporting roles before his
high-profile role as Han Suk-kyu's
secret-agent partner in Kang Je-kyu's
blockbuster thriller Shiri (1999). In early
2000, Song became a star with his first leading role in the box office
smash The Foul King (2000), for which
he reputedly did most of his own stunts. But it was with his
award-winning role as a North Korean sergeant in
Joint Security Area (2000)
that Song has come to the forefront as one of Korea's leading actors.
Song also starred in
Park Chan-wook's
Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002),
which centers around a father's pursuit of his daughter's kidnappers.
In 2002 Song starred in another major production by Myung Film titled
YMCA Yagudan (2002), about Korea's
first baseball team, which formed in the early 20th century. He came to
international attention with the film
The Host (2006), which reunited him with
director Bong Joon Ho. With
Snowpiercer (2013), his third
collaboration with Bong, he made his debut in an English-language film
with international theatrical distribution.
In 2008 he starred in Kim Jee-woon's film The Good the Bad the Weird (2008), where he played Tae-goo, the motorcycle-riding, walther-wielding counterpart to "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"'s Tuco.
In 2015, Song Kang-ho works on 'The Throne', a period drama of palace intrigues par excellence and whose film is nominated that year for best non-English-language film and costumes at Satellite awards.
Already in 2016 he makes his fourth collaboration with Korean director Kim Jee-woon and is none other than the critically acclaimed film "The Empire of Shadows." was eight she moved to England, where she embarked on a number of stage
plays. Later she was spotted by a Twentieth Century-Fox executive, who
offered her a contract, and in 1956 she went to Hollywood. There she met
Sy Bartlett, whom she married and later divorced in 1958. Warner
Brothers spotted her acting abilities in the classic "Island in the
Sun" and in 1957 asked Fox if she could be loaned out for a part in the
Marlon Brando classic "Sayonara". She received kudos in that film for her
performance as the distraught, scorned fiancée of Brando. It was not
until 1958, though, when she achieved her greatest role, as
the tormented Helene Delambre in the Fox classic "The Fly". The image
of her as seen through the fly's compound eyes is considered one of the classic
moments in the history of science fiction films. It was during the time that "The Fly" was being made that she was trying to reconcile with Bartlett, but it did not
happen. Patricia went on to play in other films, but did not achieve
the status she deserved and continued to star in B Pictures and
television roles. In 1960 she married real estate developer Jerome

Referred to by some as a dadaistic comedian, Andy Kaufman took comedy
and performance art to the edges of irrationality and blurred the
dividing line between reality and imagination. Born in New York City on
January 17, 1949, the first son of Stanley and Janice Kaufman, Andy
grew up on New York in the town of Great Neck. He began performing for
family and friends at the age of 7, and by the time he was 9 was being
hired to entertain at children's parties. After a year at a Boston
junior college, Andy began performing his unique brand of stand-up
comedy at coffee shops and nightclubs on the east coast. Discovered by
Improvisation comedy club owner Bud Friedman, Andy quickly earned a
reputation as a talented, yet eccentric performer. Impressed by his
abilities, Lorne Michaels asked Kaufman to appear on the inaugural broadcast
of Saturday Night Live (October 11, 1975). Best known for his work as
Latka Gravas on the TV sitcom Taxi, Andy appeared in several TV shows
and movies, on Broadway, did a one man show at Carnegie Hall, enjoyed a
brief professional wrestling career and performed in concerts
nation-wide.- Actor

Nigel Lindsay was born on 17th January 1969 and entered into the world
of acting comparatively late. For three years he was a financial
analyst in the City in his native London but, on his own admission,
hated it and applied almost simultaneously for the law and the stage.
He had a place at bar school beginning on the same day as the start of
his three year course at the Webber Douglas Academy - but the lure of
the stage prevailed and he chose the academy, where he won the Amherst
Webber Scholarship. His finals role was in 'Charley's Aunt' directed by
Michael Fry,for whom he first worked professionally with the
Lincolnshire touring company Great Eastern Stage playing an assassin in
'Shoot the Archduke'. Since then he has appeared on many stages, the
Royal Court, the National, the Old Vic and on Broadway in Tom Stoppard's
'The Real Thing'. With a range extending from Pinter to musicals - most
notably under layers of green make-up in the title role of 'Shrek - the
Musical - he also took the Whatsonstage award as best supporting actor
in 2011 for 'Broken Glass'. On television he has been nice,as Sally
Phillips' kindly boyfriend in comedy 'Jam and Jerusalem', and nasty,as
a sinister policeman investigating one of the 'Midsomer Murders' and on
film as a fervent white Muslim in the black farce 'Four Lions'.- Producer

Genndy Tartakovsky was born and raised in Moscow, USSR. He and his
family moved to Chicago, IL when he was 7 years old, after his father
defected to the US. His interest in comic books and animation led him
to study animation at CalArts in Los Angeles. While he was there he
produced two student films, one of which was the basis of his series
Dexter's Laboratory (1996). The character of Dee-Dee was inspired by his older brother Alex, who
would often spoil younger brother Genndy's plans (as Dee-Dee does to
Dexter). His first long form directing work was for the TV movie of the series, Dexter's Laboratory: Ego Trip (1999). He also directed animation for his collaborator Craig McCracken on The Powerpuff Girls (1998) and The Powerpuff Girls Movie (2002).
His most celebrated work was the epic animated series Samurai Jack (2001), featuring a time-traveling samurai in a battle of good vs. evil. He stopped work on the series to produce Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003) as a direct story tie-in to the beginning of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005). He then directed animation for the Adult Swim pilot Korgoth of Barbaria (2006). Plans were up in the air for over a decade for a possible movie conclusion to Samurai Jack, as well as directing a sequel to The Dark Crystal (1982). He created storyboards for the action-packed opening of Iron Man 2 (2010) during this time period.
Genndy produced another dynamic TV series Sym-Bionic Titan (2010), before finally landing his first feature on Hotel Transylvania (2012), which would involve taking over a tumultuous production and incorporating 2D techniques to 3D animation. Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015) was the first film for which he had creative control over the entire production, although it was still in the style developed during the first film. In 2017, he finally returned to direct a darker season of Samurai Jack to conclude the story on Adult Swim. He is currently directing Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018).- Cathy Belton was born on 17 January 1970 in Renmore, Galway, Ireland. Brian Helgeland was born in Providence, Rhode Island and raised in New Bedford Massachusetts. A born worker, Helgeland has endeavored to achieve in the following fields: snow shoveler, scrap newspaper collector, dishwasher, nursing home janitor, drug store clerk and unreliable nightshift gas station attendant. Facing unemployment after receiving a degree in English, Helgeland fell back on generations of family tradition and took a site as a 'half-share man' on the fishing vessel Mondego II, working the dredges of a deep sea scalloper over 100 miles offshore for two weeks at a time. Fish School. North Atlantic University. After a year at sea, a chance meeting with a book entitled "A Guide To Film School" changed everything. Ignorant as to the existence of such venerable institutions, he applied to several and was accepted by one. Giving up his now 'full-share man' berth on the fishing vessel Concordia, Helgeland headed west in 1985. After getting his break with several low budget horror films, he made his mark with several spec script sales, the flashiest being "The Ticking Man" which he co-wrote with Manny Coto. Two other specs sales to Warner Bros landed him an exclusive writing deal at what was then the greatest movie studio on earth. That deal resulted in seven produced films starting with two for director (and longtime mentor) Richard Donner and ending with two films for Clint Eastwood. In between came the much lauded "LA Confidential" for which Helgeland won an Academy Award finally living up to his grandmother's nickname for him of 'Golden Boy'.
Helgeland's directing career began when Donner gave him an episode of "Tales From The Crypt" to direct. Tired of Helgeland's relentless script note complaints, Donner was eager for him to see how things looked at the trigger end of the gun instead of the barrel. Next up as writer/director was "Payback" which Mel Gibson committed to after leafing through a rough draft version of the script on a Warners ADR stage. Although the director's cut was eventually released, the experience was bittersweet as Paramount demanded a happier ending which Helgeland refused to direct. With the rug pulled out from under him, Helgeland regained momentum with the spec script for "A Knight's Tale". He envisioned the rags to riches story of a peasant determined to prove himself a knight, as a version of his own humble beginnings before moving to Hollywood, but also as the tale of a lowly screenwriter who wants to become a noble director. Columbia Pictures bought the script in a bidding war and mere months later Helgeland found himself in the Czech Republic with Heath Ledger, Paul Bettany and the gang conjuring the story of William Thatcher - aka Sir Ulrich von Lichtenstein - in what would become his most fan favorite film.
As solely a screenwriter, the great-never-late Tony Scott is the director he felt closest to sensibility-wise, in that both of them believed that any single moment in a film can be ordinary and absurd and funny and tragic all at the same time. They worked on several projects together - produced and unproduced. "Man On Fire" was their crowning achievement. Helgeland also directed and wrote the film "42" with Chadwick Boseman and "Legend" with Tom Hardy. Both were biopics. His most recent film is "Finestkind" with Ben Foster, Toby Wallace and Jenna Ortega. It is full of truth about people he once knew, but crammed with lies about what they got up to. As he likes to say about writing: "It's okay to lie if you reach a higher truth doing so." Helgeland is an admirer of John Huston, Richard Brooks, Walter Hill, Frank Pierson, Curtis Hanson and all screenwriters who knighted themselves into the director's chair.- Actress

She had two siblings -- Mary Jean Parsons and Theresa Mae Macrae née Parsons. When she was seventeen, her father remarried Genevieve Stack and moved with the three girls to South Pasadena, California. It was here that the acting bug first bit, when she appeared in the senior play and was subsequently given a full scholarship to the famed Pasadena Playhouse; 1960-1962. In her two years there, she appeared in some of the great works of Edward Albee, Clifford Odets, Tennessee Williams, Max Bollinger, and William Shakespeare, among others. Nancy married Alan Hipwell immediately after graduation and gave birth to Elizabeth Hipwell, on November 3, 1964, and to Margaret Hipwell, on October 7, 1969.

This award drew her to her lifelong friend and agent Susan Smith. These are all her career achievements, but we would say the greatest legacy she has left us is the ability to live passionately, as individuals.
