American occasional actor, son of Bing Crosby and Dixie Lee. Born into show business as his father was becoming a superstar, Crosby and his three brothers grew up in wealth, but reportedly suffered at best inattention and unkindness, and possibly actual abuse at worst, from their father, at least according to a memoir written by Dennis's brother, Gary Crosby. Drawn reluctantly into performing in a musical act with his brothers, "The Crosby Brothers," Dennis appeared with them in clubs and on television. However, he was never happy performing. He eventually worked on the production staff of his father's company, Bing Crosby Productions. Depression and alcohol problems plagued him, and in 1991, he shot himself to death, less than two years after the suicide of his younger brother Lindsay Crosby. His daughter, Denise Crosby is an actress.- Actor
