Academy Award winner film editor and also recipient of the Eddie award from the American Cinema Editors, Stu Linder is best remembered for his editing in several films from director Barry Levinson.
Stewart Bridgewater Linder was born on November 8, 1931 in Geneva, Illinois. He began his career as assistant editor on The Misfits (1961) and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962), working alongside Hollywood's Golden era directors such as John Huston and John Ford. Thanks to his meticulous work on Seconds (1966), director John Frankenheimer offered him the editing duties on Grand Prix (1966). Along with editors Fredric Steinkamp, Henry Berman and Frank Santillo they composed some of the most fascinating car races ever created, and for their work in the film they won the Academy Award of Best Editing.
After the film's success Linden became an important editor, at times working as an editorial assistant in films for Mike Nichols in the early 1970's. With Diner (1982), a long collaboration with director Barry Levinson has started, spanning for more than 20 years. Their stylistic choices, rhythm and experience can be viewed in countless films and of many different stories and settings, from drama to comedy and suspense. Among the titles Levinson & Linder made together are The Natural (1984), Young Sherlock Holmes (1985), Tin Men (1987), Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), Avalon (1990), Bugsy (1991), Sleepers (1996), Wag the Dog (1997) and Rain Man (1988), where Linder was once again nominated for a Best Editing Oscar and Levinson won as Best Director.
The duo collaboration was abruptly ended while filming Man of the Year (2006), when Linden was found dead after suffering a heart-attack on January 12, 2006. It would be their 18th film together.- Production Designer

Joan was a British filmmaker and conservationist. She was the daughter of Edmund Thorpe, a British coffee farmer and safari guide. Joan and Alan Root (an amateur filmmaker) met and married in 1961. Since then they have made 10 documentary films on wildlife. They divorced in 1981. On January 12, 2006, assailants identified as an ex-employee and a poacher fired rounds from their AK-47 rifle into Joan Root's farmhouse striking her twice in the leg and once in the hip. Lis Asklund, born Louise Viveka Ulrika Lagercrantz 1913 at Lidingö, was a Swedish social counselor, writer, radio and television producer. She was the daughter of bank director Carl Lagercrantz and Agnes Hamilton, who were descendants of the poet Erik Gustaf Geijer. Lis Asklund was the sister of Olof Lagercrantz and Rutger Lagercrantz and half sister of Arvid Lagercrantz. She was also aunt of Lars Lönnroth and Johan Lönnroth and aunt to actress Marika Lagercrantz and writer David Lagercrantz. Asklund was a Red Cross and a registered nurse. She studied at the Florence Nightingale International Center in London. In 1938 she became one of Sweden's two first hospital social counselor's. In 1940 she married the writer/poet Erik Asklund and the same year she was contacted by by Elise Ottesen-Jensen who asked her to start a counseling activity at the RFSU (Swedish Association for Sexuality Education) for abortion-seeking women. During the next tr here decades she wrote books and articles, produced radio and television programs about society's forgotten people, young and old. In 1977, she made her last report before retirement. It was about the Fountain House movement in New York.- Eldon Dedini was born on 29 June 1921 in King City, California, USA.
