Delightful character actress who held her own against such acting heavyweights as Charles Laughton, Boris Karloff, Tyrone Power, Barbara Stanwyck, and Sydney Greenstreet. Often cast by studio heads as comic relief thanks to her thick Irish accent and rubber-faced expressions, most notably in Universal's horror classics, Bride of Frankenstein (1935) and The Invisible Man (1933). Her final role was as the devoted housekeeper in Billy Wilder's Witness for the Prosecution (1957), a role she originated on stage. Her hilarious testimony during the trial is one of the film's highlights.- Robert Finch was born on 27 August 1909 in Fayette, Iowa, USA. He was a writer, known for Lights Out (1946), Academy Theatre (1949) and The Clock (1949). He died on 4 February 1959.
- Cecil Yapp was born on 4 April 1879 in Montréal, Québec, Canada. He was an actor, known for The Silver King (1919) and The Second Son (1915). He died on 4 February 1959 in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA.
- Bertrand Robinson was born on 23 September 1888 in Creston, Iowa, USA. He was a writer, known for She's My Weakness (1930), Your Uncle Dudley (1935) and Ladies' Day (1943). He died on 4 February 1959 in The Bronx, New York, USA.
