- Tom Sadge has been entertaining others with a variety of singing and speaking voices since he was in elementary school. Born in the largely Irish-immigrant populated Avoca, Pennsylvania, Tom attended St. Mary's Grade School and Pittston Area High School. He was active in the school's Glee Club.
Tom enlisted in the U.S. Navy immediately after high school. His military travels took him to Japan, the Philippines, Hong Kong and off the coast of Vietnam. After the military, he lived for a time in the Cape Cod/ Boston area as well as in Biloxi Mississippi and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ironically, it wasn't until he returned to his hometown that he met his wife, Marion. She, too, had recently returned from living away in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where she was a fashion buyer and store manager for a large chain.
It was while living back home that Tom Sadge became well-known, on a local level, for his vocal singing impressions. Marion waited tables, for free, at the venues where Tom performed.
After years of entertaining locally as a singing impressionist, and dreaming of entertaining larger, more diverse audiences, Tom's dream came true. Marion was looking through a brochure for Legends in Concert, the popular Las Vegas-based celebrity impersonator show. She noticed that many of the performers relied heavily on wigs, make-up and facial expressions to deliver their lookalike performance, and that the proper voice was obviously the most important asset to a celebrity impersonator. She encouraged Tom to develop an act as a Neil Diamond impersonator, as this was his favorite voice to perform. It was also the one which the audience would be most astonished by.
After nearly a year of hard work experimenting with make-up, costumes, moves, etc., the couple felt satisfied with the Neil Diamond impersonation. A promotional video tape was shot and sent out to agents and producers. By the summer of 1998, Tom Sadge was touring with Legends Alive!, a Canadian troupe of celebrity impersonators. He was the only American to be invited to tour that summer.
More hard work followed for Marion and Tom as they continued to work on improving and perfecting the act. Now, Tom works all year in the U.S., Canada and Europe at top venues, including Atlantic City, NJ and Las Vegas casinos. He has also made several trips to Europe/
Tom Sadge performs as a Neil Diamond impersonator all over the United States, Canada and Europe. His home base remains in Pennsylvania. Marion holds up the business end at home, which includes her work as a webmaster. The couple considers the Tom Sadge Show to be a team effort.
Tom Sadge and Marion are the parents of two grown children and two grandchildren, all who live nearby and to whom they remain close.
