"Drama Follows Them": Episode 2, Season 4

Drama begins in this second episode of the season with Stephanie inviting Lauren to her upcoming birthday party. Of course, Lauren wonders if she is inviting her brother (and Lauren's enemy), Spencer. Stephanie reassures her that she hasn't spoken to Speidi in weeks.

Lauren expresses her concern over who is coming to the birthday party at lunch with Doug. She hopes Spencer won't show, but Doug reminds her that "blood is thicker than water." He also reminds her that there may be other drama with guests at the party, Audrina and Lo, who are still not friends. Not surprisingly, Doug comments to Lauren that "everybody in your life is hectic." There is always some drama going on in LC's world.

Stephanie's party remains the buzz of this episode, while Audrina plans her attendance. She worries about Lo being there. Audrina is still not convinced that Lo's apology from last week was sincere. We expect, once again, another Audrina vs. Lo encounter at the upcoming party.

Later, Heidi and Spencer dine together, while Heidi appreciates that Spencer "still knows how to order for her." It seems as though Spencer is still good at making Heidi's decisions for her. Like everyone else, Stephanie's birthday party is the topic of conversation for them. They decide they will show up for a little bit and "be cordial." It is family after all. However, Spencer decides this is the last chance he will give his sister either she stops hanging out with Lauren or he "will never speak to her again."

Back at the house, Lauren and Lo are getting ready for the party. Audrina, making a rare appearance in the main house, confirms that she is planning on stopping by the party for a bit to have a drink and hang out. But the tension is still in the air between Lo and Audrina, as Lo barely gives her a glance.

At a dinner for the people of People's Revolution, Kelly Cutrone repeatedly makes it clear to everyone that it's her company and that people are going to get cut if they don't pull their weight. Big expectations for Whitney, although she's probably up for it.

On their way to Steph's party, Lo and Audrina discuss their friendship situation. Can't they all just get along? Lauren knows that they're not all getting along, but Lo, all decked out with prom hair and a shiny potato sack, declares, "Well, the ones who matter are getting along." Ouch.

Finally, we're treated to Stephanie's party. Stephanie has a few friends there, but most of the attention is on the LC crew, including Lo, Audrina, Frankie, Brody, and Doug. Looking quite devious and somewhat scary, Lo tells Audrina that she looks pretty and that she's glad they talked. Hmmmm. Really? As a supposed surprise to Stephanie, in walks Speidi, with Spencer carrying a flashy bouquet of balloons. Spencer's mere presence drives Brody away. After all, he just wants to party. He doesn't want drama. After a couple moments of awkwardness, Spencer mumbles, "Can you get those obnoxious chicks away?" Who's obnoxious, Spencer? Lo wants to go. So they do, with LC and Doug hand-in-hand and Lo trailing behind.

After the party, Spencer pays Stephanie a visit and exclaims that she has "jumped ship to the bad guys." He compares her friendship with Lauren to Mideast conflict. "It's like trying to tell Iran and Israel to get along." That Spencer is so up on international politics. He gives her an ultimatum: as long as she is going around with that posse (Lauren and her friends), Spencer will have nothing to do with his with sister again. He loves friendship ultimatums.

After dinner out with the company, Kelly Cutrone fires Jessica and offers the newly open position to Whitney, with one caveat--Whitney must live a bi-coastal life style. She reassures Whitney that, "We've all done it." Whitney knows that this is a great opportunity. She will be Kelly's shadow. Now, she just needs to learn how to delegate better and live in two different places. Plus, no plans for the next couple months.

This dramatic episode ends with an apology to Lauren from Stephanie. Stephanie tells her that it was a surprise that Spencer was coming to her party. Lauren, not sure whether to believe her, comments "All my friends say I shouldn't even trust you." And now, Stephanie may just have given Lauren's friends reason to be "back on that rampage."
