Trivia:
The characters' IM names: Lindsey Strauss (Lindsey), Scott23 (Nathan), BDavis (Brooke), Marv (Mouth), JunkYrdDog (Junk), Fergielicious (Fergie), BigFtHunterHJS (Haley), and Lucas Scott (Lucas). moreGoofs:
Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Peyton's full name (as seen mentioned many times) is Peyton Elizabeth Sawyer. Peyton says to Haley at one point that Brooke has been calling her "Peyton Marie Sawyer" because of the way she was acting. Peyton then explains that the initials spell PMS revealing that it's just a joke between her and Brooke. Therefore, Peyton's middle name does not change at any time in the series. moreQuotes:
Lucas: There's something I have to tell you. You should sit.Karen Roe: Okay. I think I'll stand.
Lucas: This is gonna hurt you, Mom. And I'm sorry.
Karen Roe: What happened?
Lucas: Brooke's pregnant.
Karen Roe: [she slaps him] Oh, my God, Lucas. I'm so sorry.
Lucas: I guess I deserved that. Stupid...

What I like about this series is the way common adolescent problems are addressed. Issues on drugs, sex, personality crisis, family relationships are common issues everywhere in the world. The actors do an excellent job in getting the emotions across and they continue to grow in their characters as season one goes into season two. The dramatic serious scenes are interspersed with comic lighthearted scenes once in a while but overall the show is a serious one. This is alright seeing that living a normal life is serious too. I find OC a bit irritating because they look at these issues too lightly. It would also be interesting to see how the producers would deal with other issues such as eating disturbances, depression and delinquency. I've purchased both seasons dvds and have no regrets. Looking forward to season 3.
