Poll: 'Split' Your Vote: Who's Your Favorite Identity?

M. Night Shyamalan's movie, 'Split,' stars James McAvoy as a man with dissociative identity disorder who has at least 23 identities. McAvoy amazingly portrays eight of them, and exquisitely so, inside the movie of less than two hours. (In 'Glass,' expected to be released in 2019, he plays ten.) Which of the identities did you enjoy watching the most?

    James McAvoy in Split (2016)

Dennis: The serious, sinister, and obsessively clean man who kidnaps the three girls. He wants to "take the light" from the good-willed identities, such as Barry and Kevin, and make way for a 24th identity, who he believes will rid the world of "unpure" people who "have never really suffered."

Hedwig: The playful nine year old who fears, and often defers to, Dennis and Patricia. He likes listening to hip-hop music and dots his speech with additives such as "etc."

    James McAvoy in Split (2016)

Barry: An artistic fashion designer, Barry is kind, charming, and friendly with a light-hearted nature and warm smile. He seems to "have the light" often, does not approve of the cruel and destructive ways of Dennis and Patricia, and has a close relationship with the psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher.

    #4

Patricia: The stern nun who is allied with Dennis, although wants to curb his "inappropriate" urges, and prepares food for the kidnapped girls, as well as brushes their hair and gives them flowers. Along with Dennis, she manipulates Hedwig in order to be a dominant personality; she believes in the emergence of a 24th personality and is not a benevolent identity.

    James McAvoy in Split (2016)

Jade: Present in only two brief scenes, Jade seems like she's probably an adolescent girl or slightly immature young woman. She's got spunk and, in one scene, comes out quickly to protect Kevin from his own wishes. Unlike the other identities, she has diabetes and takes insulin.

    James McAvoy in Split (2016)

Kevin: The original identity, Kevin was severely abused as a child. He is soft-spoken, kind, and is only seen once during the film, at which time he is horrified to find out what terrible things Dennis and Patricia have done so makes a drastic and heart-breaking plea with Casey.
  7. Vote!

    James McAvoy in Split (2016)

Orwell: Intellectual and intelligent, Orwell is passionate about not letting the malevolent identities, such as Dennis and Patricia, take over. He believes the decent and principled identities need to fight to keep Dennis and Patricia from doing harm.
  8. Vote!

    James McAvoy in Split (2016)

"The Beast:" This is the 24th identity. He has superhuman abilities, is aggressive and is on a mission. He seems to be jubilant about finding that Casey is, what he calls, "pure" after he sees evidence of her suffered, but also jubilant about destroying the "unsure."
