Streaming activity for Sean “Diddy” Combs has severely dipped since he has been accused of assault and harassment.
When comparing Combs’ U.S. catalog streams during the first week of December — two weeks after Cassie Ventura sued him — with streams of his catalog during the week ending May 16, there was a 51.8 percent decrease for songs under his stage name Diddy from 2,624,000 streams to 1,265,000 streams, according to Luminate, which tracks music streams and sales.
As Puff Daddy during the same period, he saw a similar drop: there was a 48.3 percent decrease from 1,359,000 streams to 703,000 streams. Under his stage name Diddy, the change was very small: a 2.1 decrease from 604,000 streams to 591,200 streams.
The streaming decline comes after Combs apologized on Sunday for a recently surfaced 2016 video which sees him attacking Ventura, his ex-girlfriend and former protege who was signed to his Bad Boy record label. In the video, first obtained by CNN,...

The Drake-Kendrick Lamar showdown will continue — at the 2024 BET Awards.
The rappers will compete in two categories at the June 30 show: best male hip-hop artist and best collaboration. In the latter category, Drake is nominated for “Rich Baby Daddy” with Sza and Sexyy Red, while Lamar is nominated for his guest verse on the remix of Beyoncé’s “America Has a Problem.”
Drake is the show’s top contender with seven nominations, thanks to his album For All the Dogs (Scary Hours Edition). Lamar didn’t release an album that was eligible this year. The Canadian rapper’s other nominations include album of the year, best male R&b/pop artist and viewer’s choice for “Rich Baby Daddy.” He’s nominated twice in the video of the year category: “Rich Baby Daddy” and his guest verse on J. Cole’s “First Person Shooter,” the late 2023 track that reignited his feud with Lamar.

The event, which has become one of the hallmarks of winter celebrations in West Africa, attracted roughly 40,000 attendees across its two days, according to its founder. Black Sherif was the sole Ghanaian artist to headline, and he stands as one his country’s brightest stars thanks to his eclectic remaking of U.

Usher has returned to one of the biggest stages in music for a headlining performance at the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show, which included guest appearances by Lil Jon, Ludacris, Alicia Keys, and more.
Marking the second time Usher has performed at the Halftime Show (thanks to his guest spot during The Black Eyed Peas’ performance in 2011), the pop star took charge at Super Bowl Lviii, taking the stage for a display of gyrating, roller skating, and pop nostalgia. Running through some of his biggest hits — like “My Boo,” “Omg,” “Yeah!” and more — Usher’s showmanship and the energy of his guests carried the performance, almost making up for the fact that the television mix was sub-par.
In addition to Lil Jon, Ludacris, and Keys, Usher was joined by the likes of H.E.R. — who provided a Prince-esque guitar solo — Jermaine Dupri, will.i.am, and more. Watch clips of the performance below.

Remember when the Grammys used to suck every year? These days, nobody does. The Grammy ceremony has been on a historic roll ever since 2021, when they finally figured out how to stop doing a normal award show, and turn it into (as host Trevor Noah said) “a concert where we give out awards.” Grammy Night now has blown up into a ritual that really feels like a full-blast fan celebration. Last night’s excellent Grammy bash had no stupid comedy skits, no cringey presenter chit-chat — just memorable music moments, along with some dog-vomit ones.

Billy Joel took the stage to perform at the Grammy Awards for the first time in more than two decades on Sunday night.
Living up to his Piano Man nickname, he sat behind a piano to perform “Turn the Lights Back On,” his new single — and his first in decades — which was released Feb. 1. He was backed by a string orchestra as he sang the song at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
The singer closed out the show with his classic hit “You May Be Right,” following Celine Dion’s presentation of the album of year award to Taylor Swift. The lively performance featured him again behind a piano.

Miley Cyrus took home one of the night’s top prizes, record of the year, at the 2024 Grammys for “Flowers,” presented by Meryl Streep and her son-in-law, Mark Ronson.
Streep kicked off the presentation by saying they would be presenting the best album of the year, because a record is an album. Then Ronson explained that is not what the award is. It actually recognizes everything that goes into making a song, including artists, producers, recording engineers, mixers and mastering engineers.
“Flowers” producers Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson; engineers/mixers Michael Pollack, Brian Rajaratnam and Mark “Spike” Stent; and mastering engineer Joe Laporta were also recognized for the award.
“Thank you all so much,” Cyrus began her acceptance speech. “This award is amazing, but I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular.

Burna Boy performed at the Grammy Awards for the first time, with his representatives noting he is the first Afro-fusion artist to do so in a press release distributed prior to Grammy night. Though Burna is largely associated with the more widely known genre Afrobeats — which itself is often a fusion of genres such as highlife, hip-hop, R&b, and more — he has long attempted to differentiate himself by referring to his own music as Afro-fusion. Other artists, like Ghanaian singer Amaarae, have categorized their music as Afro-fusion as well.

U2 hit the 2024 Grammys stage Sunday night for what producers called a history-making performance.
The Irish rock group performed “Atomic City” from the Sphere in Las Vegas, marking the first-ever broadcast performance from the new venue. Introducing the band, Grammys host Trevor Noah noted it was the first time that TV cameras had been allowed inside the new venue, located at the Venetian Resort.
The band hit the stage for a lively performance that included flashing, multicolored lights and also made use of the 160,000-square-foot wraparound interior LED display at the Sphere.
After their performance, U2 frontman Bono remotely presented the Grammy for best pop vocal album to Taylor Swift for Midnights. (Swift also took the opportunity to announce her new album.)

Los Angeles, Feb 5 (Ians) Singer Sza, who has the most nominations at the 2024 Grammy Awards, painted the stage red with a perfect ‘Kill Bill’ performance.
The singer, dressed out in a black trenchcoat and wide-brimmed hat, opened with her smash hit “Snooze” off her sophomore album “Sos.” On a stage resembling a back alley replete with flaming garbage cans and a dumpster, she sang shrouded in shadow, brushing off a man who approached her at the song’s end.
The camera panned to a woman in the audience brandishing a sword, showing off her samurai skills on a table where Phoebe Bridgers and Victoria Monét were seated.
The woman joined a crew of dancers on stage as Sza ran through “Kill Bill,” taking off her jacket and joining in on the choreography, once again pushing off the suitor, reports variety.com.

One of the most exciting categories this year at the Grammys is Best Melodic Rap Performance, where there’s one glaring omission: Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s “Barbie World.” The big hit from “Barbie” was relegated to Best Rap Song, showing a lack of enthusiasm from voters (who likely voted for it in the songwriting category due to its high alphabetical placement on the ballot). But the song’s miss ended up making the category way more interesting with a couple of hits now duking it out for the win. With big names in the category such as Drake and Sza, let’s consider who will ultimately be crowned the winner come February 4.
Let’s start with the song that has the least chance of a win: Burna Boy and 21 Savage’s “Sittin’ on Top of the World.” While the track was a big hit for Burna, it...

Sorry to break your soul, but Beyoncé is not performing at Sunday’s Grammy Awards.
A representative for the superstar confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter after social media has been fueled with rumors that she is set to hit the stage to honor late icon Tina Turner.
Last month, the Australian Today ahow tweeted that Beyoncé would pay tribute to Turner onstage, and since then the news has circulated on X (formerly known as Twitter), leaving many to believe it’s true. Turner died last May after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.
At the 2008 Grammys, Beyoncé and Turner gave an explosive performance of “Proud Mary.” When Turned died, Beyoncé shared a photo of herself with the legend on her website and wrote: “My beloved queen. I love you endlessly. I’m so grateful for your inspiration, and all the ways you have paved the way.

The Recording Academy consolidated its categories into just 11 fields in order to give voters more flexibility as to which categories they participate in.

Burna Boy will be the first Afrobeats performer ever to play the Grammys at Sunday night’s ceremony — and he’ll be joined onstage by Brandy and 21 Savage, executive producer Raj Kapoor tells Rolling Stone Music Now. The collaboration will also mark 21 Savage’s Grammy performance debut, while Brandy hasn’t sung on the show since the Nineties. “It’s gonna be huge,” says Kapoor. “It’s gonna get everybody on their feet.”

Ahead of Usher’s Super Bowl halftime performance on Feb. 11, the singer has shared the track list for his new album Coming Home, out on the Friday before the big game.
The 20-song LP features a couple of previously released singles — like “Good Good” with Summer Walker and 21 Savage, his “Standing Next to You (Remix)” with Jung Kook and the H.E.R.-featuring “Risk It All” from The Color Purple — as well as new tracks with guests Burna Boy (“Coming Home”), Latto (“A-Town Girl”), and The-Dream (Cold...

Presumably, most people don’t do anything four times voluntarily unless they enjoy it, and Trevor Noah confirms that he does, indeed, enjoy hosting the Grammys. Considering that his first year was the show’s imaginatively socially distanced 2021 Covid edition — 2021 was held as a small yet star-studded outdoor gathering — and the following one was only slightly more “normal,” this is just his second conventional Grammys.
However, conventional is a pretty inaccurate word for a show that includes performances from top nominee Sza, Joni Mitchell — making her Grammys performance debut — as well as U2 (in a remote appearance from Las Vegas’ Sphere), Billy Joel, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Luke Combs, Travis Scott and Burna Boy, with more to be announced. Despite the enormous amount of pressure the job entails, as he says below, Noah — seen above accepting his own award, a Primetime Emmy for his work on “The Daily Show” earlier...
