The 17th season of “America’s Got Talent” is in full swing, with five audition episodes having aired since May 31. Instead of moving right on to the sixth set of hopefuls, the AGT team paused on July 5 to give viewers a look back at some of the best tryouts from the last six years. During the first ever Golden Buzzer special, entitled “Simon’s Favorite Golden Buzzers,” judge Simon Cowell sat down with host Terry Crews to present a two-hour countdown of his personal picks for the 15 greatest moments involving the coveted honor.
The Golden Buzzer was first incorporated into AGT’s ninth season, which aired in 2014. The show’s current format allows it to be used only five times per season (once by the host and once each by the four judges) to lock in quarterfinal placements for particularly outstanding auditioners. 12 of the 59 acts who have earned the honor have...

“America’s Got Talent” has gone through many different facelifts at the judging panel, but one person has stayed put for the past 11 seasons: Howie Mandel. This Canadian comedian originally joined up with NBC’s reality TV show in Season 5, where he had big shows to fill as David Hasselhoff‘s replacement. Howie sat beside Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne for two seasons, with Howard Stern stepping in for Piers in Season 7 and Heidi Klum & Mel B taking over for Sharon in Season 8.
Over the past decade Howie has made a name for himself as the funniest and wildest panelist, but also someone with a keen eye for talent. In fact, his Golden Buzzer Grace VanderWaal ended up winning Season 11 and becoming one of the most successful “Agt” acts of all time. Below, see our four reasons why Howie Mandel is simply the best judge on “America’s Got Talent.”

Looks like “America’s Got Talent” might have found the next Courtney Hadwin in child singer Charlotte Summers. Watch the sneak peek video of her audition which be will featured on Tuesday’s show. This native of Spain competed on that country’s “Le Voz Kids” four years ago. And last year she impressed Steve Harvey with her turn on “Little Big Shots.”
Charlotte, who is only 13, readily admitted to “Agt” host Terry Crews that she was nervous to face Simon Cowell as she really loves him. And she revealed that she feared she was going to faint as it has been her dream to be on “America’s Got Talent” for years. Asked what she’d do with the million dollar first prize, she had a simple wish – to buy a guinea pig and call him Simon Cowell. And, she added, her sister would buy one too and name him Howie Mandel.

Even though she was eliminated early on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” teenage opera singer Jackie Evancho says that it “meant the world to me” to compete against such legendary acts from around the world. A dozen acts are competing on the final of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” on February 11. Five of these got the Golden Buzzer and another five won the superfans vote. We just got word that the two wild cards are ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer, who won “Agt” in 2017, and magician Joe Dorenbos.
While this is great news for fans of these two talents, it means that singing sensation Courtney Hadwin, who placed third to Farmer on episode 2, didn’t make the cut. What do you think of these two choices? Be sure to vote in our poll below for the act you want to win season 1 of “Agt: The Champions” and then sound off on the show in our comments section.

Teen Courtney Hadwin made her “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” debut Monday night — and debuted her very first original song while she was at it.
When the Season 13 finalist took the stage — after a brief montage recapped how she was this close to winning the whole thing in 2018 — judges Mel B, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel were ready to welcome her back with open arms and see what she had prepared for them.
But when Hadwin started to perform, the set got rearranged a little, as the tiny teen with a big voice had a crowd of audience members assemble beneath her like a mosh pit and she began to belt out, “Pretty Little Thing.”

One of the acts that fans of “America’s Got Talent” were most looking forward to seeing return to spinoff series “Agt: Champions” was Courtney Hadwin, the 14-year-old rocker from Hartlepool, England. Would the Season 13 finalist be able to redeem herself after last year’s shocking loss? Or would she once again be eliminated before the end? Unfortunately, Courtney’s return in the second episode was short-lived as the Superfan voters sent her home and decided to keep opera/rock singer Cristina Ramos instead.

Is Simon Cowell looking to sign “America’s Got Talent” finalist Courtney Hadwin to a record deal?
Several news outlets, including the U.K.’s Daily Mail, are reporting that Cowell — formerly of “American Idol” and a current judge on “Agt” as well as “X Factor U.K.” — is keen to add the 14-year old rocker to his artist roster at Syco Entertainment, which includes “Agt” season 11 winner Grace Vanderwall.
While a representative for Cowell would not comment on whether a signing is in the works, the spokesperson did confirm that the teen vocalist, who finished sixth in the competition and was eliminated on Sept. 19, met with Cowell the day after the Sept. 20 finale at his house. This news comes on the heels of the announcement that Hadwin will join the season 13 “Agt” winner, magician Shin Lin, in Las Vegas.

On September 19, magician Shin Lim joined the exclusive club of “America’s Got Talent” winners, with his sleigh-of-hand act. His future success remains to be seen, as past winners have had varying levels over the years. So, with another season of “Agt” over, it is time to look back to get updates on where each of the winners from the first 12 seasons are now, from Bianca Ryan to Darci Lynne Farmer.
Season 12 was won, appropriately enough by a 12 year-old: singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer. This Oklahoma native was the third voice thrower to win “Agt” following Terry Fator (Season 2) and Paul Zerdin (Season 10). Fator appeared alongside Farmer on the Season 12 finale.
Farmer was also the third child talent to take the title, following Season 1 champ singer Bianca Ryan, who at age 11 remains the youngest-ever, and Season 11 winner Grace VanderWaal, a 12-year-old singer-songwriter/ukulele player. They are the only three females...

“America’s Got Talent” crowned its 13th winner Wednesday with magician Shin Lim squeaking out a win over the dancers Zurcaroh. Lim is the second sleight-of-hand artist on the winners list after Mat Franco who took the title in Season 9. We had not expected Zurcaroh, who were Tyra Banks‘ Golden Buzzer, to do so well, given that no other dance group had won “Agt” in its 12-year history (solo dancer Kenichi Ebina won Season 8).
Rather, we thought the race would be between Shin Lim and teen singing sensation Courtney Hadwin, who had been Howie Mandel‘s Golden Buzzer act. She would have been the third youngster in a row to win the $1 million grand prize and a chance to headline at a Las Vegas casino. Last year’s winner was 12-year-old singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer. And songwriter/ukeleleist Grace VanderWaal was also 12 when she won “Agt” in 2016.

When Garth Brooks said “All hell has broken loose in our life because of Simon Cowell” during NBC’s Season 13 finale of “America’s Got Talent,” he meant it in a good way. At least, we think. Cowell had previously tasked the country music superstar to write a song for his Golden Buzzer act, father of six Michael Ketterer, for the “Agt” Finals, and Brooks just delivered big league. Ketterer sang Brooks’ original song titled “The Courage To Love” during the two-hour ender and earned a wild standing ovation from the Dolby Theatre crowd. Being inside the Dolby Theatre during NBC’s Season 13 finale of “America’s Got Talent,” I can attest that the collective gasps from the audience were deafening when Courtney Hadwin was eliminated. “America’s Got Talent” is set to crown its lucky 13th winner on the September 19 results show. The race is too close to call between teen singing sensation Courtney Hadwin and magician Shin Lim. One of them will win the season 13 title, which comes with a $1 million cash prize and a chance to headline at a Las Vegas casino.
Whoever tops the tally of America’s votes will join a winners list of talent that includes last year’s champ Darci Lynne Farmer. This pint-sized singing ventriloquist took time off her nationwide tour to appear on the first live show of this season of “Agt.” She was the the third ventriloquist to win “America’s Got Talent” after Season 2’s Terry Fator, who appeared on the Season 12 finale alongside Farmer, and Season 10’s Paul Zerdin.
Farmer was only 12 when she won the show last September. She was the third tween talent to take the title.
