Was United States delegate to International Lesbian & Gay Association conferences in Vienna and Stockholm. He co-authored an anti-discrimination clause for the constitution of post-apartheid South Africa.
Blaise was a founding member of ACT-UP and served on the Hunter College President's AIDS Task force. He was president of his college Ski Club, treasurer of the Equestrian Club, and served on the Student Senate.
Blaise started horseback riding at age 4 in Texas, but learn to ride a Western in college. Blaise served nearly six years in federal prison for an alleged arson scheme, was exonerated by a state court.
