Which of them were able to leap the hurdles that they put in front of themselves, and which were looking like they might be the two vocalists eliminated Tuesday? Read on…

Blake Shelton has been a coach on the “The Voice” since it started in 2011 and has won a whopping six of the previous 13 seasons. He is the reigning champ, having coached Chloe Kohanksi to victory last fall. However, he may have a hard time winning for a lucky seventh time in season 14 with the return of Alicia Keys and the addition of Kelly Clarkson to the coaching panel. Our readers say that both those women have stronger teams heading into the Top 12 live round, which kicks off on April 23.
As with the other three coaches, Shelton had his team of six cut down to three during the Top 24 round that just ended. We have compiled a power ranking of the contestants now on Team Blake Shelton. Season 14 of “The Voice” begins its Top 12 live shows on Monday, April 23 when a dozen artists take to the stage and sing for America’s votes. Six-time champ Blake Shelton is coaching three of those hopefuls. Two of them — Pryor Baird and Kyla Jade— won the public vote. Shelton chose the third, Spensha Baker, from his four remaining contestants in the Top 24. That decision meant the elimination of Gary Edwards, Austin Giorgio and Wilkes.
We asked you which of these three artists that didn’t make the grade with Shelton was the most deserving to move on to the live shows. The overwhelming choice was Wilkes who garnered a whopping 82% of your votes. Giorgio netted 11% while Edwards managed just 7%.
If you haven’t voted in our poll yet, take read of the brief recap of each of these three artists and then cast your ballot as to which was the best.

Not that every member of Team Blake and Team Alicia needed a do-over, but Night 2 of The Voice’s Season 14 Live Playoffs nonetheless gave them all a second chance to garner enough (East Coast) votes to advance. Based on the TVLine poll that followed Monday’s jam-packed sing-off, Pryor Baird looked like the likeliest member of Team Blake to join Kyla Jade, Sharane Calister, Britton Buchanan and Brynn Cartelli in the Top 12; Terrence Cunningham, the frontrunner from Team Alicia. “The Voice” coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine have had a rivalry since day one on NBC’s reality TV competition, but their recent performance of “Fly Me to the Moon” seems to suggest that all is forgiven. In the vintage black-and-white duet, the male coaches sang such intimate lyrics as “hold my hand,” “baby kiss me” and even “I love you.” The tone of the video is serious, but Shelton and Levine occasionally smile as if to let the audience know that they’re joking. The second night of the knockout episodes on “The Voice” only had three match-ups and one of them was a clear favorite with the coaches and viewers. That was the last sing-off, which pitted two of the artists on Team Alicia Keys — Terrence Cunningham and Christiana Danielle — against each other. When their coach couldn’t decide between them, both of them secured a place in the Top 24.
Cunningham had won Keys over with his cover of “Tell Me Something Good,” a 1974 Stevie Wonder song that was a big hit for Rufus and Chaka Khan. “I would be up there struggling,” the coach admitted about watching her artist hit all the high notes. “The Voice” aired the second of four episodes dedicated to the knockout round of season 14 on April 3. As it was only an hour long, it featured just three match-ups but still managed to produce a lot of drama. This is the final pre-taped stage of the competition that will cull the 32 remaining artists down to 20 for the live shows. The four coaches — Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — no longer pick the songs that their artists perform in match-ups against each other.
However, they do get to declare a winner of the sing-off and each can steal one of the rejects of the other three. Keys did just that on night 1 when she nabbed Jackie Foster after Levine spurned her. And they can save one artist from their team as well: Levine did that with Drew Cole while Shelton did the same with Austin Giorgio.

Your days are numbered, Jaron Strom. The Voice on Monday began its Season 14 Knockouts, aka the rounds designed to discharge the last of the coaches’ cannon fodder prior to the Playoffs. So, before sitting down and tuning in, I was thinking that Jaron would soon be jettisoned from Team Blake, Gary Edwards would be dropped from Team Adam, Dallas Caroline’s nerves would at last be settled by her elimination from Team Alicia, and Jamella would get cut from Team Kelly (probably in a montage like both her Blind Audition and her Battle, poor thing!). A whopping 38% of you say that Alicia Keys has the strongest roster of talent at this stage of the competition. She won the second of her two seasons to date when Chris Blue took the title in the spring of 2017.
Rookie coach Kelly Clarkson is the pick of an impressive 27% of readers who responded in our survey. Reigning six-time champ Blake Shelton will be lucky for a seventh time say 25% while Adam Levine has only 10% of readers convinced that he will adding a fourth trophy to his mantle. If you haven’t cast your ballot yet, vote in our poll below and then be sure to sound off on your favorite coach and artist in the comments section.

Season 14 of “The Voice” just wrapped four nights of battles and all four coaches now have teams of eight to take on to the knockout round. Which coach do you think has assembled the strongest roster of artists at this stage of the competition: rookie Kelly Clarkson, one-time champ Alicia Keys, three-time winner Adam Levine or six-time victor Blake Shelton? Vote in our poll below and then be sure to sound off on your favorite coach and artist in the comments section.
Each of their teams is comprised of eight artists who made it through the battle round. The coaches divided their dozen artists into pairs and pitted them against each other to determine who would advance and who’d be sent home. The judges also were allowed to steal two artists from their rival coaches (they are indicated in italics in the listings below).

One of our favorite stages of “The Voice” competition is the battle round, which just concluded after four heart-stopping episodes. Each coach has to pair up two of their artists to sing the same song and then opt for one of them to take on to the knockout round. All four coaches — Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — can rescue two losers of other battles and steal them for their teams.
While we saw all six battles in full on Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” Tuesday’s show short-changed viewers by denying them the chance to see two of these match-ups (another turned into a solo for Alexa Cappelli after Hannah Goebel withdrew from the competition). We didn’t get to watch the performances that won over the coaches. Sure, none of the artists who went down to defeat were stolen by any of the other coaches.

The fourth and final episode of “The Voice” devoted to the make-or-break battle round shortchanged viewers by only showing three of the six duets in full. While Monday’s show had run for two hours, the March 27 episode was only an hour long. That meant that we only saw three of the six battles in full.
As with the other nights, the four coaches — Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — paired up artists on their teams to do a duet. The winner of each of these battles goes through to the knockout round. Each coach can steal two of the 18 losers from the battles overseen by the other coaches. The coaches were offered advise during rehearsals by four hit-makers: Clarkson had Hailee Steinfeld, by her side, Keys was counseled by Shawn Mendes, Levine turned to Julie Michaels, and Shelton brought in Trace Adkins.

“The Battle starts now!” Before we get to the reviews of Tuesday’s Battles on The Voice, can we just take a moment to appreciate the way Carson Daly always tells us when a sing-off is beginning? It’s one of the show’s endearing idiosyncrasies that I can’t help but laugh at and love at the same time. Wouldn’t we, um, notice that a Battle has started, even if Carson didn’t inform us? I’m going to give us enough credit to say yes. Yes, we would notice. Still, it cracks me up, and I’ve...
