Gossip Girl is a series created by Joshua Safran, Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz.
This reboot from the 2007 series is quite a success in HBO Max and has Jordan Alexander starring in this great series for teens with gossip, treason and lots and lots of secrets.
Together Jordan Alexander, we have Eli Brown and Adam Chanler-Berat among others in the cast in a production that is in its second series and again a choral formula that made the 2007 series the success it was.

The new incarnation of Gossip Girl has been cancelled by HBO Max and will conclude this week. Series creator Josh Safran was saddened by the news, but not surprised. He suspected a cancellation was coming because of how expensive Gossip Girl is ("It takes a lot of money to look this good.") and because numerous HBO Max shows have been cancelled recently.
Starring Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak, and Savannah Lee Smith, the sequel series follows a new group of private school teens living on the Upper East Side. The original version of Gossip Girl aired for six seasons on The CW before concluding in 2012.

The streaming service has canceled the reboot after two seasons.
The series finale, titled "I Am Gossip," will premiere on January 26 on HBO Max.
Showrunner Joshua Safran took to Twitter to reveal the sad news.
“So here’s the goss: it is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce Gossip Girl will not be continuing on HBO Max,” the social media statement reads.
Safran goes on to thank everyone associated with the show.
“The EPs and I will forever be grateful to the network and studio for their faith and support; the writers for their devious brains and dexterous talent; the superstar cast for being the greatest of collaborators and friends; and the crew for their hard work, dedication and love for the project."
"This was honestly the greatest set I ever worked on, top to bottom.

NYC’s messiest Instagram account is typing its “XOXOs” for the last time. “Gossip Girl,” the HBO Max series and sequel to the CW hit of the same name, has been canceled, the streamer announced Thursday. The news comes in the middle of the show’s Season 2 run, which began on December 1 and will conclude January 26.
In a tweet Thursday, showrunner and executive producer Joshua Safran stated he intends to shop “Gossip Girl” to other outlets.
“We are currently looking for another home, but in this climate, that might prove an uphill battle, and so if this is the end, at least we went out on the highest of highs,” Safran wrote in his tweet.
The series, which premiered in July 2021 to considerable hype, is a continuation of the original 2007 series of the same name created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. Based on the young adult series by Cecily von Ziegesar,...

Hey, Upper Eastsiders: HBO Max’s “Gossip Girl” has been canceled, and its series finale will drop on the streamer Jan. 26.
Season 1 premiered in July of 2021, and though it received a critics’ score of 38 on Rotten Tomatoes, Variety‘s Caroline Framke praised it, writing the show “does immediately address one issue that plagued the previous ‘Gossip Girl’ by flipping it on its head in a way that energizes the new one. This time, there will be no guessing games as to who Gossip Girl might be — at least not for the audience.” Season 2 jumped higher on Rotten Tomatoes, but based on fewer reviews.
“We are very grateful to showrunner/executive producer Joshua Safran, and executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz for bringing us back to the Upper East Side and all the scandals at Constance Billard,” HBO Max said in a statement. “Although we are not moving forward with...

Outside of the delicious drama our favorite Upper East Siders deal with daily, what makes the "Gossip Girl" reboot great is the chemistry between the cast. It's easy to believe that Julien, Audrey, Monet, Luna, Max, Aki, and Obie are in fact longtime friends because their respective actors - Jordan Alexander, Emily Alyn Lind, Savannah Lee Smith, Zion Moreno, Thomas Doherty, Evan Mock, and Eli Brown - are also friends in real life. Even the addition of Whitney Peak's Zoya to the characters' group of friends feels genuine because of her magnetic connection with them.
Friendships and relationships (both old and new) are a big part of "Gossip Girl"'s dramatic second season, which kicked off on Dec. 1 - just take it from the cast. "Everything is a lot more intense this season, and we're kind of getting to see different sides and different stories from everybody," Peak tells Popsugar.

Haven't you heard? "Gossip Girl" is back for another chaotic season on HBO Max, and we've got all the deets.
The first season ends with a disastrous New Year's Eve celebration that leaves Julien (Jordan Alexander) cleaning up a major mess with her ex Obie (Eli Brown) and sister Zoya (Whitney Peak). Not to mention, the will-they-won't-they throuple with Aki (Evan Mock), Audrey (Emily Alyn Lind), and Max (Thomas Doherty) finally get the green light (though it surely won't be smooth sailing for them). The biggest surprise of them all, however - aside from Gossip Girl teaming up with Julien to expose everyone's dirty little secrets - is Monet (Savannah Lee Smith) gunning for the queen bee title now that Julien has turned over a new leaf, but there are plenty more shocking reveals ahead in season two, so buckle up for the ride.

The second season, debuting December 1, improves in many areas, but some of the issues that plagued the freshman season remain.
We'll start with the good. Savannah Lee Smith, who was largely on the periphery of Gossip Girl Season 1, is now front and center, where she belongs.
Monet has evolved from a plot device in Julien's story to a full-blown villain who thrives on chaos.
Armed with the desire to dethrone Julien and take the Upper East Side by storm, we get a feud that serves as a worthy follow-up to the early dynamic between Blair and Serena from the original series.
You can tell off the bat that Savannah is having the time of her life playing this more nuanced villain, and her reign of terror...

You know you love Georgina Sparks.
Michelle Trachtenberg is back as iconic villain Georgina in Season 2 of HBO Max’s “Gossip Girl” revival series. The new Gg, Kate (Tavi Gevinson), comes face to face with Og baddie Georgina after she sneaks into her apartment for a moment of reckoning. As Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good” plays in the background, it’s clear Season 2 will be a battle to the social death.
The role marks Trachtenberg’s return to acting after four years, following her voice-acting turn in TV series “Human Kind Of.” Her last on-camera role was in 2016 TV movie “Sister Cities.” Trachtenberg formerly played Georgina a decade ago, with her final “Gossip Girl” appearance in 2012. The character’s son, Milo, played by Azhy Robertson, appeared in the first season of the new “Gossip Girl” as the hacker Zoya (Whitney Peak) hires to take down her...

Gossip Girl Season 2 looks like the show we were promised ahead of its debut last year.
HBO Max dropped the official trailer on Thursday, and it looks more scandalous than ever.
The original series was known for its Omg-worthy moments, and if the trailer is any indication, there'll be plenty to go around in the second season.
“It’s the second semester of junior year and Gossip Girl is leaving no stone unturned in her effort to control the scandalous lives or spin the scandalous lies of Manhattan’s elite,” the official logline reads.
“She’s learned a thing or two from her first go-around — namely what her audience wants, they shall get."
"It’s time for her to turn the heat up on what’s been simmering as well as look at her own impact and how she can make it more catastrophic than it was before. Even if...

HBO Max’s Gossip Girl season two is welcoming back original cast member Michelle Trachtenberg, reprising her role as Georgina Sparks. And the first three official photos from the upcoming second season even includes one showing Michelle as Georgina!
In an interview with Teen Vogue, showrunner Joshua Safran explained what Trachtenberg’s Georgina will add to the mix.
“What she brought to the original series was anarchy,” stated Safron. “She’s an anarchist. She’ll just do anything and just for any reason she decides. So we brought that energy to the first show, and then we brought that energy back to this one. She’s the same, and that’s what I think is so fun, that Michelle is older, we’re all older, Georgina is older yet has the exact same energy. She’s out of time.

Gossip Girl is back on HBO Max later this year.
Teen Vogue confirmed Thursday that the highly anticipated second reboot season will premiere on Thursday, December 1.
No word yet on whether we're getting all the episodes in one go, but we should get those details when the trailer drops.
Additionally, one of the original Gossip Girl's most chaotic characters is along for the ride.
Showrunner Joshua Safran revealed to Teen Vogue that Michelle Trachtenberg is joining the cast as the villainous Georgina Sparks.
And, thankfully, she'll be up to her same old schemes.

The second season of HBO Max's reboot of Gossip Girl has been in production for a while now, and the latest tease hints at a big comeback.
The social media accounts for the series shared a video of a brunette woman sitting in an empty theater, clearly enjoying what is happening on stage.
“It only takes one spark to start a fire,” the video teases.
In the caption, the message continues: “And I have a feeling that this city is about to burn.”
The video quality is not great, which is probably intentional to keep fans guessing the mystery person's identity.

Given the "spark" and the fact that this person is going to upend the lives of the Upper East Siders, it certainly sounds like Georgina Sparks is coming back into the fold.

TVLine already schooled MacGyver fans on what Season 6 would have looked like with its final showrunner, Monica Macer, at the helm. But now we have been given a peek at how Season 5 might have ended under the CBS procedural’s original boss — and how it set up a major time jump for Season 6.
Peter M. Lenkov, who also sired CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I. reboots, lorded over the network’s MacGyver redo for the first four seasons. (CBS ended its relationship with Lenkov in July 2020, following an investigation into claims that the producer created an unhealthy work environment.

If you've been counting down the days until the return of Gossip Girl, we have some good news.
HBO Max is switching up the rollout strategy for the second half of Gossip Girl (2021) Season 1, which means we will be getting the episodes sooner.
The series was initially set to return with the seventh episode of the season on Thursday, November 25, but the streamer will now have episodes 7, 8, and 9 available to stream.
The season will wrap the following week with another three episodes available to binge-watch.
Fans were less than impressed with the midseason hiatus halfway through the freshman season, so this makes up for it, we guess.
We liked watching week-to-week because it allowed us to dissect every single moment of the reboot.
We'll be running three reviews on Thursday so we can delve deep into the shenanigans of these characters we've grown to love throughout the season.
