The name of a film is a pivotal part of its promotional jigsaw – but coming up with the perfect movie title is a lot easier said than done.
For a little while during the development of the 2023 it’s sort of based on a true story but have a word action horror comedy Cocaine Bear, there was a conversation being had about whether the name would actually stick. A great holding title, sure: but would a major Hollywood studio, Universal in this case, release a film with such a moniker?
The film thus went into development with the underlying expectation it might be called something else, yet when Elizabeth Banks came aboard to direct the picture, one of her conditions was that it didn’t change. As such, Cocaine Bear became, well, Cocaine Bear, and it’s hard to think of it now being called anything else.

Is Francis Ford Coppola’s controversial magnum opus “Megalopolis” any good?
The two hour and 20 minute dystopian drama certainly divided the audience at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday night with its collision course of shocking scenes: a doctored sex tape featuring Adam Driver, Shia Labeouf in drag playing a Trumpian figure and Aubrey Plaza dominating her way through a slew of men.
But there was still a huge amount of respect for iconic director Coppola, who received a four-minute standing ovation upon entering the room. After the credits rolled — which included a tribute to his late wife Eleanor — and the standing ovation began, Coppola hugged Driver and Giancarlo Esposito and got emotional as he made a speech dedicating the film to hope and family.
“Thank you all so much. It is so impossible to find words to tell you how I feel,” Coppola said, then introducing his family members in the audience.

Few actors can make a successful jump from the front of the camera to behind it. While stars like Ben Affleck have navigated this transition, Taylor Sheridan has proved that he isn’t far behind. The star who became a recognizable face on television in shows like Sons of Anarchy and Veronica Mars, found his true calling as a writer with his hugely popular series Yellowstone.
Taylor Sheridan in Yellowstone
Encouraged by the success of the show, Sheridan went on to create two prequels namely 1883, and its immediate sequel 1923 which starred Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren in the lead roles. The series, which has been renewed for a 2nd season, was initially given a different title by the writer, but was subsequently modified following the change in its historical setting.

After gaining a lot of success with fans and critics, the Paramount series has now been renewed for a 3rd season which will air in June 2024.
Taylor Sheridan created and acted in Yellowstone
Dillon, who acted in Yellowstone as well as in this thriller drama, spoke extensively about his collaboration with Sheridan and how the Veronica Mars actor’s mentorship guided him to pursue his love for writing. He also addressed the casting choices made by his co-creator, especially with regard to one actor who perfectly fit the bill as a chilling antagonist.

Elton John has publicly aired his problems with a number of other celebrities, but he has made his support of Lady Gaga clear. When Madonna, with whom John has feuded for years, spoke poorly of Gaga, he stepped in to defend her. Here’s why he felt he needed to speak in support of the star.
Elton John spoke out against the way another artist treated Lady Gaga
In 2012, Madonna described Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” as “reductive.” This came as a blow to the younger artist, who had long admired Madonna. According to John, Madonna’s comment strengthened his dislike of her.

Bruno Mars is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 130 million records sold worldwide. Surprisingly, he has achieved this feat with three solo albums and one collaborative album. Although he moved to Los Angeles in 2003, he did not gain recognition in the music industry until 2010 when his voice was featured in B.o.B.’s Nothin’ on You and Travie McCoy’s Billionaire.

Many mysteries remain unanswered in the world of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece. One such mystery that has stuck around ever since the start of the franchise is what are the true powers and intentions of The Five Elders who control the world government.
Amongst many of their motives, a theory put forward by this user on Reddit reveals how The Five Elders (or the Gorosei) are purposefully spreading diseases around the world. The user has managed to somehow link the group of these five elders to Hindu Mythology, and it surprisingly makes sense.

It’s possible to divide American history into two eras: before the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln and after. Before John Wilkes Booth fatally shot Lincoln at a performance of “Our American Cousin” at Ford’s Theater on April 15, 1865, assassination simply wasn’t a part of the national conscience. For all the political disputes of America’s 18th and early 19th centuries, straight up killing the other guy wasn’t seen as a possibility, let alone an option. Lincoln’s murder marked the transition to an America where, mathematically speaking, 9% of all sitting Presidents have been assassinated. And they say logging is a dangerous job.
The TV show “Manhunt” on Apple TV+, premiering March 15, tells the story of how Booth evaded capture for twelve days after killing Lincoln, but it’s also a dramatization of the first few weeks of the post-assassination era of American history — the era in which we live today.

I throw around the concept of “Grammy darlings” a lot, but what exactly constitutes a Grammy darling? Is it just an artist who doesn’t lose Grammys often, like U2, Adele or Bruno Mars? Let’s go through a few top names.
Beyoncé: Darling
Listen, the most awarded person in Grammy history is definitely a darling. Granted, she has yet to win Album of the Year. However, more impressively, all of her projects have won at least one Grammy. Most have won multiple, including “Dangerously in Love,” “Lemonade,” and “Renaissance.” Beyoncé also gets nominations for pretty much anything she submits, and will likely become the first artist to nab nominations in rap, rock, R&b, dance, pop and country. On top of all that, it’s rare for Beyoncé to miss nominations in the general field, especially with no nominations review committees anymore to potentially force her out.

Thanks to his roles as perhaps Stars Hollow's most unorthodox resident, Kirk Gleason, on "Gilmore Girls" and the sensitive Ravager Kraglin Obfonteri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (where he also served as the on-set stand-in for Rocket Racoon), most people have probably laid their eyes upon Sean Gunn's mug at some point. For a long time, though, he was one of those actors who could pop his head into a major film or TV series, then vanish before you even had time to register whether you recognized that dude from somewhere.
Like his brother, filmmaker James Gunn, Sean Gunn got his start on Troma's B-movie farce "Tromeo and Juliet" in 1996. A few years after that, he scored a small role in a major TV venture, playing the demonic Lucas in the first season of the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" spinoff "Angel." Mick Mars has shared the new song “Right Side of Wrong,” the second single from his upcoming debut solo album The Other Side of Mars (arriving February 23rd).
The track is a worthy follow-up the powerful “Loyal to the Lie,” the previous single that launched the campaign for Mars’ first solo LP. Here, the former Mötley Crüe axeman once again dabbles in a surging alternative-metal/post-grunge sound that backs up pointed lyrics — possibly Mars releasing some angst over how things went down with the Crüe.
If that interpretation of the lyrics is on a more personal/micro level, Mars’ press release for the song also offers a macro perspective: “The song explores the oxymoron of two individual minds viewing their position as the right one. While in reality it is simply personal perspective — a present theme in interpersonal relationships we all navigate and more broadly the catalyst of many conflicts on a global societal basis.

Adapting the biography of a singular figure is hard enough, but how do you adapt the autobiography of a band? Bassist Nikki Sixx, guitarist Mick Mars, drummer Tommy Lee, and Vince Neil joined forces to make Mötley Crüe, one of the most successful bands of the 1980s and well-documented hedonist troublemakers.
In 2001, all four members of the band along with Neil Strauss released an autobiography called "The Dirt," describing the group as "the world's most notorious rock band." The book shot to the top 10 on the New York Times Best Seller list and stayed there for 10 weeks. On a personal note, I used the book as the subject of my own freshman year biography project book report in 2004, when I showed up to school dressed like Nikki Sixx and delivered my presentation in full character ... much to my teacher's chagrin.

Andrew Legge’s directorial debut Lola treads the line between the pitfalls of invention and the blessings that initially surround the same. One minute, it’s a seemingly ahead-of-its-time musical trying to capture the imperceivable hues of two sisters in the helplessly limited 16mm black and white frames. And in the blink of an eye, the symphony of love transforms into a heated brawl against the war-torn backdrop of a fictional Britain. To plate up something refreshingly original—a film that would’ve been deemed a masterpiece had it been made around the same time as the narrative is set—is an laudable achievement for a debut director who’s evidently in awe of the bleak nuances of time travel.
Spoilers Ahead
Plot Synopsis: What Happens In ‘Lola’ Film?
The leap of faith that Legge’s narrative opens with is quite extreme. You could turn your screen off right after...

That’s not how real women look!
When it comes to depictions of women’s bodies, Hollywood and the fashion industry have long faced criticism for missing the mark. That’s why the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media is teaming up with production companies Rose Pictures and Besties Make Movies on the documentary “Nothing Fits.”

"Lola was never meant to be an instrument of violence..." Dark Sky Films has revealed an official trailer for Lola, a strange B&w indie film creation from young filmmaker Andrew Legge. This premiered at the 2022 Locarno Film Festival last year and also played at FrightFest, and the Melbourne & Edinburgh Film Fests. Set in 1941 in England, two sisters invent a machine that intercepts broadcasts from the future. With World War II dawning, they use it to change history. The story follows Thom and Mars, who build the machine they call Lola, that can intercept radio & TV broadcasts from the future. "While Thom becomes intoxicated by Lola, Mars begins to realize the terrible consequences of its power." Uh oh. The indie film stars Emma Appleton and Stefanie Martini as the two sisters, Thom and Mars (Thomasina and Martha), with Hugh O'Conor, Rory Fleck Byrne, Ayvianna Snow, and Aaron Monaghan. This looks like a very intriguing experimental creation,...

One of the more compelling discoveries we came across on the festival circuit last year was Andrew Legge’s directorial debut Lola, a faux found footage film that plays with historical and science fiction. Starring Stefanie Martini, Emma Appleton, Rory Fleck Byrne, and Aaron Monaghan, the film follows two sisters in 1941 Englad who invent a machine that intercepts broadcasts from the future. With World War II dawning, they use it to change history. Picked up by Dark Star Films for a U.S. release in theaters and on VOD on August 9, the first trailer has now arrived.
Here’s the official synopsis: “1941, sisters Thom and Mars have built a machine, Lola, that can intercept radio and TV broadcasts from the future. This allows them to listen to iconic music before it has been made, place bets knowing what the outcome will be and embrace their inner punk well before the movement came into existence.

This allows them to listen to iconic music before it has been made, place bets knowing what the outcome will be and embrace their inner punk well before the movement came into existence.

Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx has opened up about the ongoing legal saga involving the band’s longtime guitarist Mick Mars.
In a new interview with Planet Rock, Sixx doubled down on a recent assertion made by the band’s manager Allen Kovac that Mars was being subjected to elder abuse by his legal representatives. According to Sixx, the Crüe express no ill will toward Mars, but are looking to move forward with current plans involving replacement guitarist John 5, including a 2023 world tour (tickets available here) and recording new music.
“It’s a nice time [for Mötley Crüe] and it’s kind of inspired us to write a little bit,” Sixx said. “We love our history, we’re very proud of everything we’ve done. We’ve always been really supportive of Mick no matter what Mick was going through. We’re just happy with where we’re at right now.”

Mötley Crüe have entered the studio to record music with veteran producer Bob Rock.
Drummer Tommy Lee dropped the news on Instagram, sharing a slideshow of images from inside the studio and an enthusiastic remark: “Hit that mother fucking record button Mr. Rock!!! Go!” Meanwhile, Nikki Sixx posted a number of black & white shots, writing, “In the studio with Bob Rock.”
Current touring guitarist John 5 also made a post about the sessions, so it looks like he’ll be featured on any future Crüe studio recordings. Aside from touring, it was undetermined how active the longtime Rob Zombie guitarist would be in the band. But with founding axeman Mick Mars clearly out of the picture, it looks like John 5 will also be Mötley Crüe’s go-to session man.
“Let’s do this @motleycrue #bobrock,” posted John 5, along with an image of him playing James Hetfield’s “Fuck Em Up” Esp Mx-220 guitar,...

The unfortunate dispute between Mötley Crüe and their former guitarist Mick Mars has gotten pretty ugly, with the band’s manager now accusing Mars’ representatives of “elder abuse.”
As previously reported, Mars recently sued Mötley Crüe, claiming his financial cut of the band’s profits was severely reduced and that he was let go from the band despite his desire to remain a member upon retiring from touring. He also snuck in a jab about bassist Nikki Sixx playing to pre-recorded tracks during the Crüe’s live shows.
Mötley Crüe then hit back, with one of their lawyers stating, “Retiring from touring is retiring from the band.” A statement further claimed that Mars’ playing had diminished significantly and that he was being manipulated by his representative into taking legal action against his longtime band. To which Mars responded, “I carried those bastards for years.”

On Thursday, Mick Mars, lead guitarist of the heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, filed legal papers in Los Angeles County’s Superior Court alleging that the band tried to fire him and cut him out from a number of business deals after he announced his retirement from touring last year.
Bassist Nikki Sixx responded to the claims on Twitter, suggesting that Mars was being manipulated by his lawyers.

The situation between Mötley Crüe and guitarist Mick Mars has turned litigious, with Mars suing his bandmates over his claims that he’s being forced out of the band.
It all started in October 2022 when Mars issued a statement announcing he was retiring from touring with the band, due to his ongoing struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a degenerative disease that affects the spine.
According to legal documents obtained by Variety, Mars is accusing the other members of the band — singer Vince Neil, bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee — of “gaslighting” him in an attempt to kick him out of the band.

Mars alleges that the band is demanding that he sign a severance agreement that would divest him of all Mötley Crüe’s future earnings, in return for a five-per-cent stake in the group’s 2023 tour, on which he’s not performing.

Mick Mars is turning up the heat in his legal fight with Mötley Crüe, saying in a new interview that he “carried those bastards for years.”
“Those guys have been hammering on me since ’87, trying to replace me,” Mars told Variety. They haven’t been able to do that, because I’m the guitar player. I helped form this band. It’s my name I came up with [the Mötley Crüe moniker], my ideas, my money that I had from a backer to start this band. It wouldn’t have gone anywhere.”
This week, Mars filed a lawsuit against Mötley Crüe over a dispute his share of profits. Mars specifically alleges that he was “unilaterally” removed from the band after announcing his retirement from touring due to ongoing struggles with an arthritic disease called ankylosing spondylitis. As a result, his profit share was cut from 25 percent to a five percent.

Mötley Crüe have responded to a lawsuit filed by former guitarist, Mick Mars. Update: Mars has since hit back at the band, saying in a new interview that he “carried those bastards for years.”
Through their attorneys, the band said “resigned from the band” when he retired from touring. They also dismissed Mars’ argument that he is owed money, while arguing that he suffered from performance issues that impacted the rest of the band on their most recent tour.
“Retiring from touring is resigning from the band,” said Sasha Frid, Mötley Crüe’s litigation attorney (via Variety). “The band’s primary function is to tour and perform concerts… If a shareholder resigns, he cannot receive any compensation from touring — which is what Mick is trying to get. It’s clear-cut that Mick is not entitled to any more money.”

Guitarist Mick Mars, thinks his 41-year history with his band Motley Crue should not end with him facing off with the other three members in the halls of justice.
The veteran band, now down by one original member, has sued to force Mars into arbitration, looking to get a ruling that he is officially a member or shareholder, with any of the rights that confers. They contend that when he announced he was quitting touring, that amounted to a resignation, reports Variety.
Mars, 71, counter-sued contending that he didn’t give up anything, at all, by announcing last fall that effects of his long standing arthritic disease made him no longer fit for the road.
He told Variety: “I don’t know, and I can’t say I positively know, but I have a pretty good feeling that they wanted me gone anyway. Because they’ve been wanting that since forever.

Mötley Crüe has called guitarist Mick Mars’ lawsuit against the band “unfortunate.” In a statement to Rolling Stone, the band responded to the suit, which was made public yesterday, and rebutted claims that they ousted him from the group and cut him out of profits.
“Mick’s lawsuit is unfortunate and completely off-base,” the band wrote in a statement. “In 2008, Mick voted for and signed an agreement in which he and every other band member agreed that ‘in no event shall any resigning shareholder be entitled to receive any monies attributable to live performances (i.

Mötley Crüe has never been shy about sharing the dirt, but guitarist Mick Mars has revealed one big secret his bandmates may have wanted kept quiet.
According to a profits participation lawsuit filed Thursday by the 71-year-old six-stringer in Los Angeles Superior Court, Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil and Tommy Lee have been fake-playing and pre-recorded some of their vocals for the tour. The allegation from Mars not only puts the self-described “world’s most notorious band” in an uncomfortable spotlight, but it also may not go down so well with the millions of fans paying Sixx, Neil, Lee and new touring guitarist John 5 big bucks to see them on tour this year.

Guitarist Mick Mars is suing Mötley Crüe over his departure from the band and a dramatic decrease in profit share.
Last year, Mars announced that he was retiring from touring with Mötley Crüe, citing his ongoing struggles with an arthritic disease called ankylosing spondylitis. A statement from his rep specified, “Mick will continue as a member of the band, but can no longer handle the rigors of the road.”
However, in their own follow-up statement, Mötley Crüe implied that Mars was done for good, leading some — including one-time Crüe singer John Corabi — to believe that he was “shown the door.”
It turns out Corabi may have been on to something, as Mars has now filed a lawsuit against his longtime band. In legal documents obtained by TMZ, Mars claims that he still intended to play with Mötley Crüe in some capacity, whether it be select live dates or in the studio,...

Sydney Sweeney's birth chart might provide a hint about what's behind all the successes the star has achieved over the past few years. With major roles in HBO's "Euphoria" and Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale" under her belt, going down in history as Cosmopolitan's first female centerfold, and her portrayal of Cassie Howard being one of the most recognizable memes of the moment, 25-year-old Sweeney's career is definitely only just getting started. Though the "White Lotus" actor is most notable for her iconic mean-girl roles, Sweeney has shown that she has plenty of range both on- and off-screen - take her fixing classic cars or the fact that she's trained in mixed martial arts as a couple of examples - and her birth chart illuminates even more about her personality.
Clearly, the actor can do it all, which leaves us to wonder: is there an astrological reason behind Sweeney's Jack-of-all-trades,...

Sofia Coppola knows what it's like to be a celebrity kid. The daughter of director Francis Ford Coppola has mostly kept her two kids, Romy and Cosima Mars, out of the spotlight throughout the years. "I don't want them ever to be jaded," Sofia told The Guardian in 2017 on why she shields her kids from the public eye. "I never saw the point of taking little kids to movie premieres and stuff. I just want them to have a childhood."
Things changed, however, when Romy recently shared a TikTok explaining that she'd been grounded for trying to charter a helicopter. "Make a vodka sauce pasta with me because I'm grounded because I tried to charter a helicopter from New York to Maryland on my dad's credit card because I wanted to have dinner with my camp friend," Romy says in the March 21 video.
