Hugh Woolley

Hugh Graham Woolley was born on 26 May 1958 in London, Ontario, Canada to Marian (Gray) and Alfred Woolley, a taxi driver. After graduating from Brock University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education, Hugh worked as a teacher, initially on a First Nations reservation near Pine Falls, Manitoba, and later in Sharjah, UAE and in Kuwait City, Kuwait. Hugh also served in the Canadian Army Reserve for nine years, reaching the rank of Master Corporal. In 1978, Hugh spent nine months as a United Nations peacekeeper in Ismailia, Egypt.
Both sides of Hugh's family are descended from United Empire Loyalists. Hugh was awarded the United Nations Emergency Force (Middle East) medal and the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal.
Hugh died in Kuwait City, Kuwait on 25 September 2017.
