Luíza Fazio is a Brazilian screenwriter and an advocate for female, queer, and Latin voices. Recognized in the 2022 Forbes Brazil 30 Under 30 list as a distinct talent within her field, Fazio wrote Sintonia (Netflix), the most-watched Brazilian show on the platform, surpassing titles like Stranger Things and Sex Education. A former journalist, she perfected her screenwriting education at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Professional Program in Writing for Television. In her journey as a screenwriter, she wrote Invisible City (season 2 / Netflix), created by Carlos Saldanha (Oscar-nominated director) and number one in over 40 countries; the Amazon Prime thriller series Veredict (2022); the doc-series LEXA (Globoplay / 2021) and the comedies Carenteners (Warner / 2020) and Samantha! (Netflix / 2018). For three years she worked as an in-house writer at LB Entertainment, a two-time International Emmy nominee production company known for developing projects for HBO, Turner, Endemol, among other networks. After a nomination by the U.S. Embassy in Brazil, Luíza attended the prestigious artistic residency International Writing Program (IWP) at the University of Iowa, which since 1967 reunites yearly 35 writers from all over the world.
