Zendaya made a spectacular comeback to the Met Gala on Monday! Following a five-year absence, Zendaya returned as a co-chair for the 2024 Met Gala, joining Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth, and Bad Bunny. Before this, her last Met Gala appearance was in 2019 when she dazzled the crowd in her magical Tommy Hilfiger Cinderella ball gown.
The 27-year-old actress delivered more than I could have imagined at the 2024 Met Gala, showcasing not one or two but three exquisite outfits appropriate for a co-chair. Her latest outing came following a whirlwind press tour for Challengers, where she once again demonstrated her mastery of method dressing by donning chic tennis-inspired looks.
In true Zendaya and, of course, Law Roach fashion, they did not let fans, including me, down.

Helldivers 2‘s much-anticipated arrival of mechs prior to the Cutting Edge Warbonds content update apparently reinvigorated the developers’ bitter memories of the game’s initial launch, as the game’s online infrastructure was yet again overwhelmed.
The liberation of planet Tien Kwan, the key to unlocking the Exo-45 mechanized suits, unleashed a tidal wave of player enthusiasm that Arrowhead Studios simply weren’t prepared for. Just a day after Tien Kwan was rid of its invaders, servers buckled under the weight of a community united in their desire to spread democracy through mechanized means.

It’s official: Pharrell Williams is taking over the role of menswear creative director at Louis Vuitton. The house as well as Williams’ PR rep have just confirmed news reports that he had been in talks to take the job, which was last filled by the late designer Virgil Abloh.
Williams’ first collection for Louis Vuitton will be shown to the world in June during men’s fashion week in Paris. Long hailed as a trend-setting style icon on red carpets, Williams, 49, has maintained a close relationship with Chanel, where his role as a brand ambassador was extended last October. The record producer has also done fashion collaborations with such brands as Moncler, Adidas for its Stan Smith line and even two with Louis Vuitton (including a line of aviator sunglasses). He also founded the streetwear lines Billionaire Boys Club and IceCream, as well as the skin-care line Humanrace.

Weathering the pandemic was a “make or break” situation for most production companies, but few can say they emerged a transformed operation. For Singapore-headquartered Beach House Pictures, going into the Covid crisis with five Netflix commissions in hand meant there was a lot at stake when lockdown hit. But an expansive footprint across the continent, a booming China business and sheer grit has ensured the company has stayed the course — and dared to thrive.
Founded by partners Donovan Chan and Jocelyn Little in 2005, Beach House began with a focus on science and travel documentaries for the likes of Discovery and Nat Geo, and — up until the pandemic hit in 2020 — had built up its reputation as one of Asia’s top factual producers through shows such as the wide-selling David Attenborough-narrated “Wild City” and “Ed Stafford: First Man Out.”

Lil Nas X has solidified his role in fashion. He has become the “provocateur,” a title that was never self-prescribed but imbued with his character through his works. As far back as I can remember, tie-in comics were just something to be expected whenever a new superhero movie arrived in cinemas. To this day, I still have my copies of adaptations for Batman Returns and Batman Forever. But unfortunately, the industry has somewhat shied away from this practice over the years, with such books now being few and far between.
And although it’s not necessarily a straight-up adaptation of the upcoming Justice League flick by any means, it’s pretty cool to see the medium that inspired the blockbuster hasn’t been forgotten. Much like the various variant covers that’ll soon flood comic shops, this new line of digital motion comics should do a decent job of whetting our appetites.
It started as a simple joyride. When they confront a raging fire, will Barry Allen and Victor Stone’s superpowers be enough to save the day?...

In the first industry-wide consequence of more than two dozen women claiming sexually harassment or assault by Harvey Weinstein, The British Academy of Film and Television Arts [BAFTA] has suspended the producer’s membership.
“Whilst BAFTA has previously been a beneficiary of Mr Weinstein’s support for its charitable work, it considers the reported alleged behaviour completely unacceptable and incompatible with BAFTA’s values,” read an Oct. 11 statement the independent charity released on its website. “We hope this announcement sends a clear message that such behaviour has absolutely no place in our industry.”

The statement went on to say that all suspended members must then undergo a “formal process as laid out in BAFTA’s constitution,” and that they will keep striving to “improve access to rewarding and fulfilling careers in safe, professional working environments.”

James Corden embarked on a one-man mission to humiliate the Beats 1 staff – including Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig – in a hilarious "Take a Break" remote segment for Tuesday's Late Late Show.
The host fumbled his way into a live recording of the indie-rock songwriter's Time Crisis show, where he tested out the censor's bleeping skills, initiated an awkward "dead air" challenge and tested out a kooky DJ impression. Seemingly unfamiliar with the concept of Koenig's program, Corden insisted he play his audience Bobby Pickett's 1962 novelty song "Monster Mash." ("How...

This year, Fantastic Fest turned 13, a number that felt apt if you’ve been following the news. Most conversations started like this:
“How are you?”
“How are you?”
Exhale. Hug. Repeat.
Eventually, people got around to talking about the films. Even those were emotional.
Tortured Souls
In past years, bringing context into the Alamo Drafthouse theater meant deciding not to chomp chips and queso during a hushed thriller. This time, audiences welled up watching Carla Guigino confront a lifetime of abuse as the emotionally and physically handcuffed wife in Stephen King’s “Gerald’s Game,” a Lifetime movie-looking low budget adaptation whose blockbuster impact at the Fest might not translate to people at home when it premieres on Netflix. (Guigino, however, is terrific in a dual-of-sorts role as the manacled victim and her empowered subconscious.)

In non-acting categories, especially when it comes to technical awards, there’s a lack of female representation that’s persisted throughout the industry. But this year, there are bright spots to be found.
This is not a complete representation of all of the year’s nominees — there were many other female nominees whose work was noteworthy — but here is a selection of the strides women made in 2017, often in categories largely dominated by men.
Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance
“BoJack Horseman” (Netflix): Kristen Schaal as Sarah Lynn in “That’s Too Much, Man!” “F Is For Family” (Netflix): Mo Collins as Ginny, Jimmy Fitzsimmons, Lex, Ben, and Cutie Pie in the episode “Pray Away” “The Simpsons” (Fox): Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson in “Looking for Mr. Goodbart”

Hadrian Belove has resigned as executive director of Cinefamily, the independent Los Angeles-based theater he co-founded in 2007, after an anonymous email circulated this week detailing sexual harassment allegations against him and the Cinefamily board.
The anonymous email, which went to hundreds of members of the independent film community and the media, said Belove “has been accused of sexual harassment, assault, and abuse by former employees and volunteers. It is a deep seated behavior pattern that many in the community are already aware of.”
The email included excerpts from a 2014 lawsuit filed against Belove and Cinefamily by a former employee that cited sexual harassment as well as work-rule violations. That case was settled out of court.
In addition to Belove, the Cinefamily board accepted the resignation of board vice president Shadie Elnashai, whom the email accused of “raping multiple women, all verbally threatened and scared into silence after the assaults.”
