"Michaela is an anomaly. Generally, when people are afraid to do something, their fear overwhelms their ability to perform. Michaela is wired the exact opposite. The more terrified Michaela is, the better she performs." That benediction, delivered by the mascot of The Challenge himself, Johnny Bananas, not only sums up Michaela Bradshaw's performance in competitions on this season of The Challenge: USA, but it underlines just how far she's come since she first appeared on Survivor in 2016. When The Challenge: USA airs its season finale on Thursday, win or lose, Michaela will have completed one of the most satisfying arcs in recent reality TV history.

The Challenge: USA Season 2 was not a good time to be Big Brother. Sure, there are still two players who come from that show, but Faysal Shafaat and Josh Martinez are also allied with the vets, due to their time on the MTV side of the franchise. With over 43 seasons of Survivor, it’s difficult to choose which ones stand out the most. There have been numerous entertaining seasons full of impressive gameplay, dynamic casts, and shocking Tribal Councils that have left us with our jaws on the floor. But we’ve narrowed the list of all-time great seasons to five must-sees for any Survivor fan.
Jeff Probst | Photo: Robert Voets/CBS 5. ‘Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X’
Including Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X on our list of the top five Survivor seasons might be a controversial pick, but we wholeheartedly stand by it.
Adam Klein is one of the most underrated winners (aside from Vecepia Towery). After all, he is one of five castaways to win the show unanimously, and he played a smart (yet chaotic at times) strategic and social game. Plus, Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X introduced us to multiple memorable players, including Zeke Smith,...

Wes Bergmann recently explained that The Challenge is more difficult than Survivor. Pic credit: MTV’s The Challenge/YouTube
Since CBS’ The Challenge: USA arrived as a spinoff of MTV’s competition show, debates have started about the show’s difficulty compared to other reality TV competition shows.
A hot take arrived last week courtesy of former Survivor winner Tyson Apostol, saying his daughter asked whether Survivor or The Challenge was harder, and he told her it was the CBS show.
While he wasn’t necessarily responding to Tyson’s comments, Wes Bergmann has some thoughts about that, providing his hot take while talking with his friend and castmate, Devin Walker.

With CBS’ spinoff, The Challenge: USA, set to wrap up with its grand finale this week, many diehard fans of MTV’s competition series are awaiting the next regular season of The Challenge.
It seems to be getting closer, as a tease for Season 38 popped up on social media on Monday, with very few details, but enough to get fans excited for what’s to come.
An Instagram post features a shot of a helicopter in the air with five competitors hanging beneath it next to one another, most likely for a daily challenge.
The image has a stylish filter applied, and the individuals in the shot are so small it’s tough to tell who any of them might be.

The coldness of backstabs and blindsides is what keeps many “Survivor” fans watching year after year. In a game that requires individuals to rely on each other, only to break promises to get to the end, personal betrayals are inevitable. We’ve been hooked on the backstabbing since Season 1, when Kelly Wiglesworth voted out her former ally, Sue Hawk, resulting in an epic jury speech from Sue about refusing to give her a drink of water if she sees her in the real world dying of thirst. Tour our photos above of the most devastating backstabbing moments in “Survivor” history.
See ‘Survivor 40’ advantages: Who currently has immunity idols, fire tokens in ‘Winners at War’?
Some of our favorite blindsides involved players outwitting each other and having some fun with it. One example includes James Clement in “Survivor: China” being voted out by his alliance with two hidden immunity idols in his pocket.

In advance of this Wednesday’s two-hour premiere of “Survivor: Winners at War,” which starts at 8 p.m. Et/Pt. CBS aired last week a special look back titled “Survivor at 40.” Many of the flashbacks that were highlighted from past seasons featured more than a few standout castaways — including some of the 20 Sole Survivors who will be returning for the special anniversary edition of the show.
They ranged from devious Boston Rob Mariano proposing to wife-to-be Amber right before she was named the winner of Season 8 to nerdy fave favorite Christian Hubicki from Season 37 hanging on a narrow perch for dear life in the blazing sun for five hours just to prove he could win an individual immunity challenge.

“I’m such a ‘Survivor’ nerd that [Ghost Island] felt like I was in a museum of ‘Survivor’ past,” laughs Kellyn Bechtold about experiencing this season’s big twist up close and personal. We chatted with the Denver, Colorado resident following her elimination in Wednesday’s 13th episode, in which the vote initially came down to a tie between her and Donathan Hurley. While Kellyn admits she was “scared to go sleep by myself all alone” on Ghost Island, she adds that “it was so fun to just nerd out and play these advantages.” Listen to our “Survivor” exit interview podcast above.

Wednesday night on CBS, the final seven “Survivor: Ghost Island” castaways fought for a chance of making next week’s season finale. Gold Derby’s predicted winner, Wendell Holland, was once again a target because of his secret advantages and alliance with Domenick Abbate and Sebastian Noel. But the Malolo duo of Laurel Johnson and Donathan Hurley held all the cards and could have chosen to side with the guys or with the remaining girls, Kellyn Bechtold and Angela Perkins. How did it all play out?

Who was voted out in Wednesday’s seventh episode of CBS’s “Survivor: Ghost Island”? Heading into the episode, the Malolo tribe had a lot to prove as they hadn’t won a single challenge since way back in Episode 3. However, the four current tribe members — Michael Yerger, Desiree Afuye, Kellyn Bechtold and Angela Perkins — tried to “reverse the curse” by burning their tribe flag. Did their controversial act appease the “Survivor” gods? And were Gold Derby’s predictions correct that Bradley Kleihege went home this week?
