20th Television Animation and Hulu Originals have joined Adult Swim in cutting ties with “Rick and Morty” and “Solar Opposites” co-creator and “Koala Man” executive producer Justin Roiland.
The move comes nearly two weeks after Roiland was charged with felony domestic violence related to an incident that first surfaced in a January 2020 criminal complaint.
“We have ended our association with Justin Roiland,” a spokesperson for Hulu Originals and 20th TV Animation told TheWrap in a statement.
“Solar Opposites” and “Koala Man” will continue without Roiland’s involvement.

Exclusive: Australia’s Princess Productions is acquiring Irish firm Boulder Media from toy giant Hasbro, we’ve learned.
The deal is the most notable M&a on the international animation market for a while. It closed earlier this month and gives Princess expanded production services capabilities for its in-house and third-party projects and allow it push into development in Ireland. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
Boulder is one of Ireland’s largest animation studios, having worked on Hasbro’s Transformers and My Little Pony franchises and TV shows such as Go Jetters and Danger Mouse. Its sale to Hasbro in 2016 was considered a major sign of intent by the U.S. toy manufacturer’s desire to make and own more content. Hasbro later acquired Pepper Pig and Pj Masks owner eOne but is now focusing more on Hasbro-branded IP and has its other entertainment assets under strategic review.

The current slate of adult animation is about to get a lot more Aussie-ome. Get it? Like awesome? But a pun on Australia? Fine, I don't need your laughs to know that I'm funny. Joining Hulu's already stellar line-up of original series like "Solar Opposites" and "Hit-Monkey" comes "Koala Man," a superhero comedy about an average dad named Kevin, the It coordinator for the Depto town council with a relentless quest for justice. When he's feeling especially compelled, Kevin adapts the alter-ego of Koala Man, a superhero identity that allows Kevin to be the hero he feels he could never be in his normal, civilian life. It doesn't matter if the day's crime is battling interdimensional aliens or making sure neighborhood lawns aren't out of control, Koala Man is here to make sure everyone is adhering to the rules of the world. We're still a few months away until it premieres,...
