In October 2017, after years of failing to conceive third child, Brandi and her husband Bryan reluctantly made the decision to stop trying for a baby. Adoption wasn't even on their minds, even though one of Brandi's brothers is adopted. But days into the New Year 2018, that changed. Just coming home from a family vacation, Brandi got a call from a friend connected to a social worker who told them about newborn baby boy. The boy's biological parents were teenagers, who awarded him to the state at birth. Social workers were having trouble finding a family who wanted a son - until they were led to Brandi and Bryan. Baby boy was in the neonatal intensive care unit because he was born prematurely, so Brandi and Bryan flew out of Dallas - the boy was still in Texas - and they met him in the hospital. They just immediately fell in love and decided to adopt him.
