Not too long ago, the British girl group Flo were a newly signed act trying to persuade their label to drop a song called “Cardboard Box” as their debut single. The label wanted to try other songs first, but Jorja Douglas, 21, Stella Quaresma, 21, and Renée Downer, 20, collectively agreed that the lively R&b breakup track was the one.
“It’s just a thing between us three,” says Douglas. “When we’re all on the same page, we’re a force to be … what’s the word?”
“Reckoned with,” finishes Quaresma.

This is what finding love at a queer club actually looks like in Vincint’s mind. On Wednesday, the pop artist released the video for his dance-ready banger “Romance” with Rolling Stone — and it’s filled with unapologetic queer joy (and lust).

Sugababes have delighted fans by releasing an album they recorded almost eight years ago.
The pop trio consisting of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy, lost the right to record and perform as the Sugababes after a number of lineup changes in the group.
The original lineup performed between 1998 to 2001, during which time they achieved six Number 1 singles. They briefly reformed as Mks in 2013 before regaining the right to perform as the Sugababes in 2019, when they released a cover of UK garage classic “Flowers” by Sweet Female Attitude.
A successful comeback year has involved a UK headline tour and a set at Glastonbury Festival to huge crowds. They have now released a full studio album, The Lost Tapes.

You might not know who Cautious Clay is, but you’ve most likely heard his music. He’s behind the perky beat that drives Taylor Swift’s “London Boy”, the multimillion-streamed tribute to her boyfriend Joe Alwyn’s hometown, and the remix of “Ocean Eyes” – Billie Eilish’s breakthrough single – which was commissioned by her brother and co-writer, Finneas. There’s a good chance you’ve heard him in films or on TV, too. His 2018 debut “Cold War”, which melded a Frank Ocean level of introspection with gospel harmonies and slick pop production, cropped up in the soundtracks for both Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart and Issa Rae’s acclaimed comedy-drama, Insecure. The lyrics are astute, the arrangements complex: his songs are gorgeous reflections on his own shortcomings.

“This Must Be how the white gays felt when Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor came out,” I direct-messaged my best friend in the wee hours of July 29, 2022. “Finally, an album for us.”

For these stars, Pride Month has never tasted so good. To mark the annual affair, Gus Kenworthy, Kornbread, Willow Pill, Vincint, Hayley Kiyoko, Kerri Colby, Patricia Arquette, Jorgeous and Sarah Michelle Gellar teamed up to star in a music video for "Taste So Good," an original song written by musician Leland. Performed by Hayley, Kesha, Vincint and Grammy-nominated producer Mnek, the track is a part of a campaign for queer-owned brand Cann, a company that makes Thc-infused drinks. The three-minute visuals begin with Gus in bed with Kornbread before the Olympic skier orders the beverages through the Weedmaps app. After Smg drops off the delivery—while proudly declaring "gay...

We were today years old when we found out that Ciara's "Like a Boy" was originally written for Kelly Rowland. In a recent interview with Mnek for his Apple Music show, Rowland revealed the unknown tidbit after she was asked whether Destiny's Child ever had a song that went to someone else. "Not that I know of that I know of. Not that I know of. That's happened to me personally and I didn't find out till much later," Rowland said. "'Like a Boy,' that was Ciara's, was actually written for me."
Despite being close friends, Rowland doesn't know if Ciara is aware of this. "Funny enough, she is honestly one of the closest things to me. We bonded over motherhood. I wonder if she knows that," Rowland said. "I'll make sure to call her after this. But yeah, it was so funny. I...

Okay, so the opening of this weeks episode of Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK was the most unusual in drag race her-story for multiple reasons!
The episode starts with the queens discussing the iconic self-elimination of the enigma that is Ginny Lemon. A queen walking out during a lip-sync had never happened before, so seeing this happen last week was a gag! However, we did get to see a solo performance from Sister Sister which was fantastic and gave her the TV time she has been missing. Now onto the main reason that this episode was unique – it was filmed at the time of the national lockdown!
The queens sat down at the end of the last episode to chat about that Ginny’s elimination and during this, we heard an extra-long alarm. Ru Paul appeared on the screen informing queens that due to the global situation they have...

Last week on “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” the competition was rocked by two surprising turns of events. First, Ginny Lemon BenDeLaCreme’d herself by refusing to lip sync against her friend Sister Sister, eliminating herself in a graceless prance off stage and shocking the other queens. Then, in the previews for this week, we learned that the competition was promptly shut down by the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions that began to roll out while filming was still underway. How did the girls react to the news and adapt to the abrupt change? Let’s find out!

This year came packed to the brim with surprises, both good and bad. From a pandemic to randomly appearing monoliths to two albums from Taylor Swift, 2020 has kept people on their toes.
And it’s finally coming to an end. Rather than celebrate the closing of this year at grand, in-person parties or festivals, streamers and linear television networks are offering safe at-home alternatives on Dec. 31. Why go out when you can ring in the new year from your living room, anyways?

British singer-songwriter Mnek snatches a girl’s boyfriend in the sleek, cheeky video for his single, “Girlfriend.” The song appeared on his 2018 debut LP Language.
The video begins with a man taking a phone call from his irate girlfriend as Mnek listens from bed. The man lies to said girlfriend, saying he’s at work, before getting back into bed to spoon the singer-slash-sidepiece. The song has Mnek wondering when this guy will not only come clean to his partner but also come out. Between scenes of Mnek performing and cuddling,...

Mnek’s debut album, Language, comes with a statement of purpose: “It’s time to step up to the front now, so you can hear me out.”
The 23-year-old writer-producer Uzoechi Emenike may feel that this introduction is necessary, because he’s spent a number of years holed up in the studio penning hits for a slew of English acts, including Duke Dumont, Dua Lipa and Rudimental. American listeners are less likely to know Mnek’s work, though he wrote on Madonna’s Rebel Heart and Beyoncé’s “Hold Up.

What is Christina Aguilera feeling emancipated from? you may ask, digging into “Liberation,” her first album in close to six years. One track offers some tantalizing clues. “I ain’t built for no fake shit,” she wails, almost gutturally, over rock guitars and faux crowd noise produced by Anderson .Paak. “It’s good pay,” she additionally points out, but “I can’t move with these chains on me / I had to get free. … This ain’t a game to me.” The song title: “Sick of Sittin’.” Now, if it were any other star expressing an animus toward chairs, we might think she was speaking figuratively. But it doesn’t take much reading between the lines to divine that this openly disenchanted ex-“Voice” jurist really has written one of the few breakup songs ever to celebrate splitting up with a TV show.
