Bill Maher had Robert F. Kennedy Jr. his on Club Random podcast to discuss the White House hopeful’s controversial stance on vaccines. The often-unfiltered host of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher then post a clip on Twitter with the headline, “Is @RobertFKennedyJr’s position on vaccines that unreasonable?”
Have a look and listen below, and judge for yourself.
In the clip, Democrat Kennedy cites a book he wrote that summarizes “over 450 studies.” Maher then asked about “the question for your campaign” before Kennedy interrupted as said, “I’m not talking about this stuff for my campaign, I’m just talking between you and me.” The host shot back: “That’s a ridiculous assumption. Of course you’re going to have to talk about it. Rfk Jr. interrupted again, saying, “Well, if somebody asks me, I’m going to.”

YouTube took down a video of an interview that featured Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who made claims that there are chemicals in our water that are turning children transgender.
YouTube stated that they took down the video of the Jordan Peterson podcast because it violated their terms of service about vaccine misinformation.
Kennedy and Peterson tweeted about their interview being taken down. They also shared the video so that viewers can watch it on Twitter.
Kennedy is currently a presidential candidate in the Democratic primary. He has spoken about his views on vaccinations many times in different podcasts.
“What do you think … Should social media platforms censor presidential candidates? My conversation with @JordanBPeterson was deleted by @YouTube. Luckily you can watch it here on @Twitter (thank you @elonmusk). #Kennedy24,” Kennedy tweeted.

San Francisco, June 18 (Ians) After a controversial podcast interview with Democratic presidential contender and anti-vaccine activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr., podcaster Joe Rogan has received support from tech billionaire Elon Musk for his offer to ask leading vaccine scientist Peter Hotez for a debate with Kennedy.
Rogan offered $100,000 to Hotez to debate Kennedy on his podcast after he criticised Rogan’s interview with him.
Hotez recently tweeted that Kennedy spread a lot of misinformation on the show, which Rogan didn’t like and snapped back.
He also asked Hotez to participate in a podcast discussion with Kennedy.
To which, Hotez said, “Joe, you have my cell, my email, I’m always willing to speak with you”.
Later, Rogan tweeted: “This is a non answer. I challenged you publicly because you publicly quote tweeted and agreed with that dogshit vice article. If you’re really serious about what you stand for,...

After Peter Hotez, a leading vaccine researcher and expert who helped develop the Covid vaccine Corbevax, called out Democratic presidential candidate and anti-vaxxer Robert R. Kennedy Jr for spreading “nonsense” on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Rogan offered Hotez $100,000 to debate Kennedy on his podcast.
Kennedy appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience on Thursday and repeated his claim that routine vaccinations cause autism.
That prompted Dr. Hotez, an MD/PhD who is Dean for the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, to label Kennedy’s statements as “misinformation.” Hotez retweeted Vice’s story “Spotify Has Stopped Even Sort of Trying to Stem Joe Rogan’s Vaccine Misinformation” writing, “Just awful. And from all the online attacks I’m receiving after this absurd podcast, it’s clear many actually believe this nonsense.”

Although it doesn’t break any new ground, Shot in the Arm — a documentary that had its world premiere recently in Palm Springs — tackles a pertinent topic about resistance to vaccines and the craziness that continues to swirl around this issue. Oscar-nominated filmmaker Scott Hamilton Kennedy (The Garden, Food Evolution) and prominent scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson collaborated on the illuminating and sometimes depressing chronicle of anti-vax vehemence that began before Covid but took on deadlier implications during the pandemic.
Kennedy actually began working on the film in 2019, during a surprising uptick in cases of measles around the world. He found that the causes could be found in a growing resistance to vaccines, fueled by prominent people like environmental activist Robert Kennedy Jr. and TV personality Del Bigtree. Their primary argument, refuted by almost all prominent scientists, was that the measles vaccine led to cases of autism. Of course it was...

There’s a new, more contagious form of the novel-coronavirus. It’s got a greater ability to evade our antibodies. And it’s spreading easier than ever.
You’ve read these words before, and you’ll almost certainly read them again as the Covid pandemic grinds into its fourth calendar year. But pay attention, because there’s something new about Xbb.1.5, also known as Kraken, the latest Omicron subvariant that’s quickly becoming the dominant form of Sars-CoV-2 across much of the world. Xbb.1.5 evolved after a couple of big genetic twists and turns.

Washington, Oct 26 (Ians) As temperatures begin to drop, health experts in the US have expressed concerns over the triple threat of flu, Covid-19 and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (Rsv), urging the public to get the required preventive vaccinations, and be aware of symptoms of severe illness.
While the three are all highly contagious respiratory infections caused by different viruses, Rsv usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms, but can be dangerous for some infants and young children, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Surveillance data collected by the CDC clearly shows a rise in Rsv cases nationwide in recent weeks, with cases detected by Pcr (polymerase chain reaction) tests more than tripling over the past two months, reports Xinhua news agency.
Children with underlying health conditions, such as chronic lung disease or heart problems, may also be at higher risk for severe illness from respiratory viruses, said Nusheen Ameenuddin,...

On Monday, an unqualified Trump-appointed federal judge in Florida ended the national mandate requiring face masks on airplanes and public transit, representing a major victory for those who have decided that the worst thing about a global pandemic that has killed nearly one million Americans is the minor inconvenience of wearing a face mask.
But the Covid-19 pandemic is not over. There’s still an average of 37,000 new cases and 400 deaths every day, and on April 12th, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra extended the country...

After more than a year of scientific hypotheses, baseless conspiracy theories, and a lack of transparency from China, we still don’t know Covid-19’s origin story — the precise route Sars-CoV-2 took to end up as the cause of a global pandemic. And thanks to the country’s deep partisan divides, even the suggestion that we still need a clearer picture of how the novel coronavirus got its start can be perceived as politically charged.

More than 200 leaders from the fields of public health, medicine, global development, and racial justice, joined faith leaders, economists, Nobel laureates, former members of Congress and artists to sign a public letter calling on President Joe Biden to champion a People’s Vaccine for Covid-19 — a public good that is freely and fairly available to all, prioritizing those most in need at home and around the world.
At a time when millions of Americans and people around the world face the dual-ills of health and economic insecurity, with communities of color facing disproportionate burdens, and where too many households stand only one health crisis away from poverty, it has never been more important to deliver a vaccine that can serve to protect everyone, everywhere.

On Saturday, President Donald Trump fired off one of his most deranged, conspiratorial, and flat-out terrifying tweets since he took office — which at this point is really saying something.
“The deep state, or whoever, over at the Fda is making it very difficult for drug companies to get people in order to test the vaccines and therapeutics,” he wrote. “Obviously, they are hoping to delay the answer until after November 3rd. Must focus on speed, and saving lives!”

Earlier this week, Jodie Meschuk, an anti-vaccination advocate with 19,000 followers, posted a graphic of children’s cherubic cartoon faces, with the caption “Un-mask our kids. Let’s talk mom to mom.” The graphic contained many erroneous claims about the risks associated with wearing face masks, including that it can lead to “inhaling micro-mold caused by trapped water vapor from exhalation,” “inhaling the slow buildup of CO2” which can cause “impaired cognition,” and most terrifyingly, “suffocation for babies or toddlers who cannot communicate when they need more oxygen.”

Summer was supposed to save us. President Trump touted the idea back in February: “A lot of people think that [the virus] goes away in April, with the heat.” He followed that up a few months later with an insane rant about the wonders of sunlight and how “bringing light inside the body” might kill the virus.
But it wasn’t just Trump — dozens of scientific papers speculated that, like the flu, the coronavirus would melt away in the heat, sunlight, and humidity and we could all relax for a few months...

Dr. Peter Hotez tuned into last Friday’s White House Coronavirus Briefing hoping he might learn something new. Hotez is the dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor’s College of Medicine and one of the leading vaccine researchers in the world. He and a team of scientists are currently working to develop a coronavirus vaccine candidate, but that breakthrough could be months or years away. For now, Hotez wanted to know what federal leaders had planned to deal with the new spike in Covid-19 infections.

Imagine, if you can, life as it was a few months ago. Shopping for groceries without nervously eyeing anyone who creeps within six feet of you. Sitting down for dinner at a restaurant and actually enjoying the crowd. Watching live sports. These ho-hum aspects of everyday life are now the stuff of fantasy, reminders of a way of life the world is growing more and more desperate to reclaim. A beer in a bar with a friend feels as exotic as a daiquiri on a South Pacific beach.

On Monday’s episode of “The Daily Show,” correspondent Jaboukie Young-White interviewed vaccinologist Peter Hotez about the efforts to develop a coronavirus vaccine — only to have the whole thing hijacked by his coworkers, who got into a (virtual) fight over who gets access to it.
The bit came during the show’s return to Comedy Central two weeks after the show shut down so its staff members could go into self-isolation. For the time being, they’re calling the show “The Daily Social Distancing Show,” because the staff is still doing everything from home.
Anyway, Young-White spoke via Skype to Hotez, who among other accomplishments leads a team working to develop vaccines for contagious diseases in Texas. Most notably, the team attempted to attain funding to begin human testing of a vaccine for coronavirus-transmitted illnesses back in 2016, but couldn’t generate interest.
