Dominic Thiem introduced his eco-conscious eyewear brand 'Thiem View', which is set to launch soon.
The Austrian has announced the launch of his eco-friendly eyewear brand, which he called the Thiem View. The announcement comes amidst Thiem's ongoing participation in the prestigious 2023 Madrid Open, where he recently claimed a straight-sets victory against Kyle Edmund in the first round.
Thiem View, founded on the principle of "a tribute to nature," showcases the athlete's passion for the environment, as well as his entrepreneurial spirit, which isn't a rare sight among professional athletes.
Players like to engage in different business activities and for example, Naomi Osaka is a prime example of that. But also Thiem's fellow colleague from the Atp Tour, Andrey Rublev launched his own clothing brand - Rublo. However, the Russian was, kind of, forced to do that after Nike terminated its contract with him.

Dominic Thiem will face world number five Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Madrid Open second round as the Austrian aims to add to his impressive record at the Spanish competition.
Thiem has managed to race to at least the semi-finals in four of his last five appearances at the Madrid Open. The former world number three got his 2023 campaign at the Atp 1000 event off to a flying start as he cruised past Kyle Edmund with a straight-sets victory in the first round.
2023 has not been an easy season for Thiem so far after he lost nine of his first ten matches, which led to early exits at the Australian Open, Indian Wells, and Miami. But the Austrian said he felt good after his first-round win in Madrid and he also believed the building momentum.

Dominic Thiem will play in the second round of the 2023 Madrid Open after defeating returning Kyle Edmund.
The Austrian displayed an impressive performance in his first-round match at the 2023 Madrid Open. Thiem, who had been struggling with injuries, is starting to make a strong comeback, taking full advantage of the wild card he received for the tournament.
Prior to the first-round match in the Spanish capital, Thiem managed to win two matches in Munich and he was quite successful also in Estoril before, seemingly showing promising form for the clay-court season.
During the match, Thiem showcased his serving qualities by winning an impressive 86% of points after his first serve. The Austrian also exhibited a solid defense, saving all four break points that Edmund had. With a total of 19 winners and a mere 9 unforced errors, Thiem made it clear that he is back in top form, leaving little room for Edmund to gain an advantage.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has spoken of his admiration for Rafael Nadal, ahead of his campaign to win the Madrid Open Masters 1000 event kicking off this week.
Speaking to Spanish newspaper Marca ahead of his opening match in the capital, the Greek World No. 5 has declared his respect for the 22-time Grand Slam champion, labelling him "a matador".
Nadal remains absent from the Atp Tour, and has not been seen in competitive action since he limped away from the Australian Open in the second round with a hip injury.
The original prognosis was around 6- 8 weeks, but the Spaniard has now been away from the match court for over three months, having had to delay his comeback several times as he seeks new solutions to his current ailment.
His participation at this year's Roland Garros is in serious jeopardy, and he is facing a race against time to get himself match-fit for the tournament,...

The Atp draw was released for the 2023 Madrid Open which will run from April 26th to May 7th, 2023 at La Caja Magica.
Last year, Carlos Alcaraz lifted the trophy in Madrid after he defeated Alexander Zverev in the final. This year, both of the players are back to the Atp 1000 tournament in Madrid and the young Spaniard is ready to defend his title after his recent triumph in Barcelona, which preceded also last year's win.
But this year's event has been plagued by many withdrawals. It started when Rafael Nadal announced that he won't be playing, and soon after him, fellow 22-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic also pulled out of the event. With two of the greatest players ever, the draw opens up for other players.
The top 32 seeds at the tournament received a bye in the first round in a new 96-player format, and so they will start already in the second round.
