Developer Little Sewing Machine’s upcoming dark fantasy adventure game Bye Sweet Carole showed up at Gamescom last week, with seven minutes of pre-alpha gameplay footage. Despite being early in development, the footage shows off some beautiful hand-drawn artwork, as well as Bye Sweet Carole‘s Clock Tower inspirations, and main protagonist Lana’s ability to transform.
The new Bye Sweet Carole gameplay footage also reveals the tall and lanky Mr. Baesie, Lana’s companion during her journey. Possessing offensive capabilities, Mr. Baesie also has the ability to morph into a smaller version of himself. While not as swift as a Lana’s rabbit form, his downsized form enables Mr. Baesie to manipulate objects effectively. Players will be able to switch between both characters on-the-go to make the best use of their abilities and transformations.
Created by Chris Darril, creator and director of Remothered series, Bye Sweet Carole focuses on Lana Benton.

After showing off their upcoming dark adventure title Bye Sweet Carole a couple of times now, developer Little Sewing Machine has finally dropped a trailer for the game, which is expected for release next year. The trailer shows off the art style for Bye Sweet Carole that harkens back to the golden age of classical animation, while also displaying the game’s unique mood and atmosphere.
Created by Chris Darril, creator and director of Remothered series, Bye Sweet Carole focuses on Lana Benton. Urged by the terrifying Mr. Kyn, also known as “Old Hat,” Lana finds herself catapulted into a mysterious enchanted garden to deal with menacing and disturbing creatures. After discovering a number of letters from a certain “French,” Lana decides to follow the last known trail of Carole Simmons, a girl of the same age who apparently escaped from Bunny Hall, an orphanage in the nineteenth century. The...

After showing off screenshots back in November that reminded more than a few people of Clock Tower, Little Sewing Machine has officially announced Bye Sweet Carole will be heading for a 2024 release, thanks to publisher Just For Games. The game is currently in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC.
Created by Chris Darril, creator and director of Remothered series, Bye Sweet Carole is “inspired by the greatest animation films” in terms of its art style. The game itself was born of Darril’s dissatisfaction from working on Remothered: Broken Porcelain, and is loosely based on the unfinished Remothered 2D prototype. Originally, Bye Sweet Carole was to use a similar style to Remothered 2D, but that was swapped out for the Disney-inspired hand-drawn artstyle.
While details on the game are still to come, Bye Sweet Carole will centre on Lana Benton in her quest to...

With all of the remakes going on at the moment, why not bring back the original Clock Tower and give it a modern makeover? While that doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon, we’re getting the next best thing with a tribute game in Little Sewing Machine’s upcoming fairy tale horror title, Bye Sweet Caroline .
Chris Darril, creator and director of Remothered series (now head of Little Sewing Machine) shared an image of a prototype from the upcoming game on Twitter (which you can see below). The image in question pays tribute to the original Clock Tower, with the game’s protagonist being confronted by a Scissorman lookalike. Bye Sweet Caroline appear to be using a hand-drawn art style.
And in case you were wondering if this is all coincidental, the copyright information on the bottom of the image does have Clock Tower in it, with Sunsoft being the owners.

As is tradition, entertainment media likes to go a little wild with the grim, gruesome and outright grotesque whenever October rolls around. Whether it’s books, films or video games that represent your preferred means of consuming horror, there’ll no doubt be an endless stream of content released for all mediums over the next month or so and this time, we’ve got our sights set squarely on the latter.
This year, there are three particular horror titles worth keeping an eye out for, all of which promise not only to rob you of sleep, but do so in vastly different ways. The fun begins on October 13th with the highly anticipated sequel from Italian artist Chris Darril. Broken Porcelain, a direct follow-up to 2018’s Tormented Fathers, will be available on consoles and PC next month and follows the life of Jen. Recently expelled from Flemmington Girls’ Institute, she...
