Throughout Princess Diana‘s childhood, her family, the Spencers, had a longstanding relationship with the royal family. She was so close to the members of the House of Windsor that she had a loving and surprising nickname for Queen Elizabeth.
Princess Diana had a sweet nickname for Queen Elizabeth growing up
As a young girl, Princess Diana regularly interacted with the royal family. The Spencer family had been closely allied with the British royal family for several generations; her grandmothers, Cynthia Spencer, Countess Spencer, and Ruth Roche, Baroness Fermoy, had served as ladies-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.
Therefore, there was a base relationship between the Spencer family and the House of Windsor. So when she married into the royal family, Diana wasn’t as unfamiliar with their clan as history has written.

When the first poster for "The Summer I Turned Pretty" season two dropped this spring, it teased a major surprise: the return of David Iacono as Cam Cameron. It's a major departure from Jenny Han's series of books on which the show is based; in the book series, Cam appears briefly in the first installment and never returns.
Iacono, 21, actually knew he was going to be in season two before season one even came out last summer. "I was so excited," he tells Popsugar. "I honestly wasn't expecting to get that call because Cam is not in the second or third book. So I was very, very pleasantly surprised."
"I low-key almost spoiled it," he confesses of his return. "I did an interview and I had said that I was coming back, or hinted at it, and I think people picked up on it on TikTok." As for Cam's journey in the new episodes,...

When Prince Charles made the sad journey to bring Princess Diana‘s body home to England after her death following a car crash in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris on August 31, 1997, he wasn’t alone. Her two sisters — Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes — accompanied him on the tragic trip.
Diana was four and six years younger than Jane and Sarah respectively, and as they spent much of Diana’s childhood away at boarding school, she didn’t grow up with them in the same way she did with her younger brother, Charles, 9th Earl Spencer,...

Though the cracks in Princess Diana‘s fairy-tale love story have long been made public, it wouldn’t be complete without one particular character: the “wicked” stepmother, Raine, Countess Spencer â. who died today at age 87 after a short illness.
Although that’s how their relationship began by many accounts, the real life version was of course far more complicated. Raine became Diana’s stepmother after she married John, Earl Spencer, when Diana was 15 years old. Their relationship was often strained, but the two forged a friendship in the years before Diana’s death.
