Stefan Cembolista, was born in Germany/Mainz in 1968. He studied at High
school level, followed by specialization in the graphic/media sector.
Followed by a few minor freelance stage and theatre participation, in
acting, and production. Short term Internship at Bavaria Studios for
the production of Enemy Mine (1985) costume and prop building (no
official function or title ( on a very low level) activities based
upon: gathering knowledge and skills in the costume & prop sector)
Finishing studies in the graphic sector, followed by military service
in the hunting battalion. / German Bundeswehr. Moved to Belgium in 1992
Costume & film prop replica productions on a non affiliated or
commercial base ever since. Stefans media contacts started in 2001, as
chairman of the Belgian Star Wars prop builders, a freelance (non
Lucasfilm LtD. affiliated fan group), creating large, and full scale
replicas of Star Wars and other movies. In his function he acted as
representative in countless TV and online shows, reporting about the
activities of his community. In 2007 he, and a selection of his group
participated at the Rose Parade in Pasadena. The participation was
initiated by Lucasfilm Ltd., Mr. George Lucas, was chosen as Marshal
for the 2007/ 118th. edition of the parade. The marching troopers
(hundreds of Star Wars fans, that have been invited together with
Stefan) displayed an 'army' of Star Wars characters, during the parade,
and marched the full 5.5 miles in their Stormtrooper armors. The entire
preparations and execution of the parade got documented by Lucasfilm
Ltd. The documentary, called 'Star Warriors' is now part of extra
features in the 'Star Wars saga' blue ray collector box. Stefan and his
crew have substantial screen time in this documentary.
Back in Belgium, Stefan participated in the production of a short film called 'Reboot 57', a post nuclear movie. Stefan cooperated as costume designer, and supported the military/fiction set arrangements. He also played a part as Soldier in this production, next to his son, Kevin Cembolista.
Stefan participated in a WWII production: 'Strike at Dawn'. Produced by Homework Entertainment. Stefan played the role of an evil German officer who commands an important radio crosspoint in France. His Garrison is targeted by the resistance, and a British para commando team. The extremely violent and merciless officer looses control about the situation and his own troops. Also in this production, Stefan played a part next to his son, Kevin Cembolista. The film is still in post production, release planned for 2014.
