The first teaser for The Inbetweeners 2, the sequel to the hit comedy The Inbetweeners Movie, based on the British TV series, has been released via the official Facebook page, and it's brief and to the point. As our own Andrew Mack reported when it was first announced in August 2012, the first movie "was the biggest opening for a comedy ever in the UK; eclipsing records previously held by sequels to the Bridget Jones and The Hangover movies. It was made on a bare budget of $5.5 million and took $71 million at the U.K. box office." No plot details have been revealed, as far as I can determine, though the teaser suggests the boys are taking their antics to Australia. The principal cast...

As our own Andrew Mack reported, México Bárbaro is an upcoming Mexican horror anthology featuring cinematic adaptations of traditional legends from this country. It was conceived by Lex Ortega (sound designer for Frankenstein's Army) and will be offering segments by such directors as Somos Lo Que Hay's Jorge Michel Grau, Alucardos, Retrato de un Vampiro's Ulises Guzmán, and The Incident's Isaac Ezban. The anthology instantly became one of the most anticipated and promising Mexican films of the year. I had the fortune and honor to interview for Twitch six of the eight directors involved: Ortega, Guzmán, Ezban, Rue Morgue's Aaron Soto, M is for Matador's Gigi Saúl Guerrero and Babtized's Laurette Flores. In the gallery below you can read each interview and learn more about...

For those in the mood for something a bit more serious this holiday season, how about the new, hand-drawn, gorgeous-looking trailer for Production I.G.'s Giovanni's Island (Giovanni no Shima)? As our own Andrew Mack noted in September, Mizuho Nishikubo, Oshii Mamoru's long time animation director, is at the helm of the project, and it's a serious one, as the official synopsis makes clear: In the aftermath of the most devastating conflict mankind had ever experienced, the tiny island of Shikotan became part of the Sakhalin Oblast... and on the unhealed border of this remote corner of the world, friendship among children from two different countries timidly blossomed, striving to overcome language barriers and the waves of history. Inspired by true events. The film is...

Arriving on VOD and iTunes in the USA tomorrow (August 14th) with a theatrical release in its native Canada following on September 21st, comedy troupe Picnicface poke the corpse of the disco era with a sharp stick in their cult hit comedy Roller Town.Roller Town follows the story of Leo (Mark Little), a small-town roller-skating disco king (who happens to be an orphan with a back story) as he attempts to win the heart of the out-of-reach rich girl while staving off the hapless bad guys who are determined to kill the town roller rink. Once again, Canada scores with the funniest, weirdest take on a cultural phenomenon still dear to many: disco! Our own Andrew Mack raved about the film when it screened at...
