Tommy Fury claimed victory in a highly anticipated boxing match against Jake Paul on Sunday by a split decision.
The British professional boxer and social media influencer-turned-boxer met in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. According to ESPN, although Paul put up a solid fight in the eight-round match, and even with Fury being knocked down in the final round, the Love Island star managed to outbox his opponent through the end.
“This is my first main event,” Fury said after the fight. “I’m only gonna go stronger, I’m gonna go bigger, I’m only gonna go better. … if he wants a rematch, bring it on.”
Tommy Fury
The match comes after years of calls on social media for the younger Paul brother to fight a “real” boxer. Paul has previously taken on and won against AnEsonGib, Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva — all of whom aren’t professional boxers.

The social media star and now professionally trained fighter, Jake Paul, is gearing up for his next boxing match against Tommy Fury, but the gloves were on in a teaser clip of his upcoming interview on HBO’s “Game Theory with Bomani Jones.”
“After Tommy Fury, where do you go from there? Like what happens if you lose one of these fights?” Jones questioned Paul in a teaser clip for an upcoming episode. Paul responded seemingly taking offense to Jones’ inquiry.
“I don’t plan on losing. I don’t train to lose. I feel like that’s probably like, your mindset. You know, a lot of people try to project their mindsets,” Paul responded back.

Every couple of months, a new TikTok phenomenon takes over, racking up millions of views, along with endless conspiracy theories and half-baked takes. For a brief period in November, that was the #SurvivingSophia hashtag.

Donald Trump To Provide Boxing Commentary For Triller’s Evander Holyfield-Vitor Belfort Bout On 9/11
Donald Trump has long fancied himself a boxing expert.
In the ’90s, he put on the Mike Tyson-Michael Spinks bout at his Atlantic City casino. As the 45th President of the United States, he pardoned heavyweight champion Jack Johnson in an Oval Office ceremony attended by Lennox Lewis, Deontay Wilder and Sylvester Stallone. He also claimed to have won $20 million betting on Evander Holyfield when he upset Mike Tyson in 1996, though no sports book could ever confirm Trump placed such a bet.
That last story may surface again on Saturday, when the former president will “provide guest commentary” for the heavyweight boxing match between former champion Holyfield, 58, and former UFC champ Vitor Belfort, 44. The bout is set for Saturday, September 11 at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. It’s promoted by Triller, the social media platform co-owned by former Relativity Media boss Ryan Kavanaugh.

Controversial YouTuber-turned-pro boxer Jake Paul has taken home his fourth straight win, defeating former UFC champ Tyron Woodley via a split decision last night in Cleveland.
The win was not as decisive -- or quick -- as Paul’s previous knockouts against the likes of former NBA star Nate Robinson and former Mma world champion Ben Askren. Paul noted in a post-fight press conference that it was the first time that he’d fought for longer than four minutes, into eight rounds.
ESPN notes that, in the fourth round, Woodley delivered a massive blow that threw Paul against the ropes -- though the 24-year-old was able to rally, remaining dominant throughout the rest of the bout.

Boxing analysis website Compubox said that Paul landed 71 punches compared with 52 for Woodley.
CBS commentator Brian Campbell called the fight 78-73 in favor of Paul and said that while the fight went the full distance, Woodley had failed to make Paul pay for his inexperience. “Jake Paul survives and advances,” was Campbell’s verdict.

One of the most-anticipated sporting events of the year takes place tonight, as Floyd Mayweather squares off against Logan Paul in a special pay-per-view boxing event on Showtime.
The fight marks Mayweather’s return to the ring since retiring after a 10th-round stoppage win over UFC star Conor McGregor in August 2017. Paul’s appearance, meantime, comes a little over a month after his brother, Jake Paul, took on Ben Askren at the Triller Fight Club event in April (Fite is showing unlimited replays of that fight until July 17).

Following his multi-fight deal with Showtime Sports, controversial vlogger-boxer Jake Paul has lined up his next boxing match with former UFC welterweight (between lightweight and middleweight) champion Tyron Woodley.
The 190-pound match is slated for Aug. 28, ESPN reports, and a location will be locked down shortly. The pro match will take place with 10-ounce gloves, and will air on Showtime as a pay-per-view event, with fans also expected to be able to attend Irl.
Woodley is a teammate and friend of Ben Askren, the former UFC fighter that Paul knocked out at his last match in April -- where Woodley was also in attendance. As a matter of fact, Woodley and Paul got into a verbal altercation before that fight in the locker room, which foreshadowed their showdown.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has inked a deal with Showtime Sports -- the same network that is set to air next month’s matchup between Jake’s brother, Logan, and Floyd Mayweather.
The multi-fight deal will call for Jake’s next fight to be distributed by Showtime Sports, ESPN reports, citing Paul’s adviser Nakisa Bidarian and a network source. This time it’ll be very different, though, as after putting in hours of training behind the scenes, he’ll step inside the ring against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.

TrillerNet, the parent company Triller co-owned by Ryan Kavanaugh, is acquiring Fite TV, a combat sports-focused streaming service.

Fans of the fight game may not take Jake Paul seriously, but all signs point to his commitment to professional boxing being legitimate.
The majority of people who have heard of Paul likely came to know him through his time as a Disney actor, rapper, or YouTube personality. It’s the foundation of his polarizing celebrity status, and now he’s trying to parlay that into a fighting career.
Whether you love him or hate him, Paul can’t be deemed unsuccessful. His YouTube channel has more than 20 million subscribers.

“July 3rd, I’m making my comeback,” responded De La Hoya, before dropping the mic and walking offstage.

Jake Paul’s opponent has been named for an upcoming boxing match slated to take place April 17 with The Fight Club -- a league owned by Triller and Snoop Dogg.
Paul will face off against UFC fighter Ben Askren, ESPN reports, marking the first time he will be in the ring with a professional fighter, as well as Askren's first time competing in a professional boxing match. Paul’s past bouts have been with fellow YouTube stars Deji Olatunji and AnEsonGib, as well as former NBA star Nate Robinson.
The location of the fight has yet to be finalized, though it will air on traditional pay-per-view platforms. Paul and Askren's match will serve as the headlining event, and the undercard will feature names from the worlds of boxing, Mma, and other social influencers.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson knows a thing or two when it comes to brawling. The superstar was a WWE wrestler before making his very lucrative transition into acting. Fighting will still always be in his blood though, which is why he became so excited when he heard about the upcoming Ufc 244 pay-per-view bout at Madison Square Garden.
Nate Diaz is set to square off against Jorge Masvidal in one of the most highly-anticipated matches this year and upon hearing the announcement, Johnson took to social media to let both fighters know that he’s going to do everything in his power to be in attendance that night.
Masvidal then tweeted to the actor, saying: “.@TheRock I’m telling @danawhite i want you to put it around my waist 305 all day.” Following that, the Hobbs & Shaw star responded as so:

Earlier this month, Justin Bieber posted a tweet challenging Tom Cruise to a fight in the Ufc Octagon, saying: “Tom if you don’t take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight?” Several weeks later, it’s still unclear exactly why the pop star wants to fight the Hollywood icon, but it seems like it could actually happen.
A few days ago we learned that Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun has been talking with the co-ceo of the company that owns Ufc, Ari Emanuel, and Ufc President Dana White. Both of them are apparently very excited for the brawl, with Emanuel saying that this “would be an epic fight that needs to happen” and White being “100% down with it.”

Former WWE champion Cm Punk has spent the entirety of 2015 preparing for his Ufc debut. Training with Duke Roufus at his Roufusport gym in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Punk is part of a team with some World Champion calibre fighters, among them Anthony Pettis (ex-ufc lightweight champion) and Ben Askren (current One Fc welterweight champion).
Yet a year of training also means a year of anticipation and wonder for fans and critics of the pro wrestler turned mixed martial artist. And as 2015 draws to a close, speculation as to just when Punk, a.k.a. Phil Brooks, will make his way to the cage abounds.
When is probably the wrong question to ask, however. Frankly, Punk’s debut in the Ufc will happen when it happens, though there is at least one date – one event – that certainly makes sense. That said, the real question to ask is “What should we expect?...

Will some fresh faces from the Ufc, familiar or otherwise, be making their way to the WWE sooner than you think? Maybe, as rumblings of an Mma to pro wrestling crossover continue.
The Ufc is far from the only game in town for mixed martial artists. Sure, they’re the biggest fight promotion in the business, having swallowed up the likes of Pride, Striceforce, and Wec, but fighters unhappy with the way things are run do have other options: Bellator Mma, owned by Viacom, the World Series of Fighting, which airs on NBC, and One Fc, the most dominant mixed martial arts outfit in Asia, home to undefeated top ten welterweight Ben Askren.
And then there’s pro wrestling. The Ufc has been pretty clear that they do consider the WWE competition, despite allowing star Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey to appear at WrestleMania 31 this year. And pro...

Cm Punk’s Mma career has been progressing slowly (as it should) since the big announcement in December that he had signed with the Ufc. And while some of the hoopla has died down since then, there’s still a lot of interest in his activities – especially as it pertains to just how skilled he actually is inside the cage.
Well, March has been another milestone month for Punk, as it appears that he has completed his first sparring session. The news was posted to Instagram by Duke Roufus of Roufusport, where Punk is currently training with the likes of Ufc lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and One Fc welterweight champion Ben Askren. The gym’s founder and head coach also posted a new photo with Punk taken after the sparring session. Punk, though obviously a little tired, looks none the worse for wear.

You can consider Ben Askren one of the converted. The One Fc welterweight champion, and former Bellator welterweight champion, with an undefeated record in professional Mma, was one of the most vocal critics of the Ufc’s signing of Cm Punk when the news was announced in December.
When Punk chose to train at Rousfusport, where both Askren and Ufc lightweight champion Anthony Pettis make their home, many were unsure of how the two would get along. Punk admitted that he would need to talk to Ben.
Well, it turns out, now that they’re training together, Askren has come around on the Punk signing.
Speaking to Mma Junkie, Askren had the following to say about his new team mate;
When someone decides to come into the Ufc and they don’t have a combat sports background, you’re kind of thinking, does he really understand what he’s getting into?...

Having had a month to train with the former WWE champion, Cm Punk’s new coach, Duke Roufus, of Roufusport, has nothing but complimentary things to say about the fighter and his ability to absorb knowledge thus far.
Echoing the statements of Punk’s sometimes Brazilian Jiu-jitsu coach Rener Gracie, Rousfus has painted the former pro wrestler as a fast learner with an incredible knack for picking up new techniques.
Speaking to MMAJunkie Radio this week, Roufus, a renowned striking coach, said that;
…we’ve had about a month together. We’re having a good time. The guy is working hard. He’s got a great attitude and he is a sponge.
He’s going to be an entertaining fighter in the Ufc, and that’s why we watch.
Roufus, however, wouldn’t comment on a possible first opponent or timetable for Punk’s Ufc debut.

Cm Punk has completed his first day of Mma training at Roufusport. The former WWE superstar is now underway in his journey toward the Ufc’s octagon.
Anthony Pettis, the Ufc Lightweight Champion and Roufusport fighter, posted the above picture on social media. He stated, “Haven’t had a black eye forever, but when your training with these beasts s**t happens…. cmpunk…”
Perhaps that’s an indication that Punk was working his striking and caused the black eye. The unproven Ufc fighter had previously indicated he picked the Roufusport camp for its reputation in training striking. The Milwaukee based centre is ran by Duke Roufus and its two biggest stars are Pettis and One Fc Welterweight Champion Ben Askren.
What’s interesting, is that Askren was livid when the Ufc announced the signing of Punk. Askren is undefeated and was livid that Ufc had signed a nobody in Mma ahead of himself.

Drum roll, please! And the winner of the Cm Punk sweepstakes is… Roufusport!
Punk will be training at the Roususport Mma Academy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a close enough drive from his home state of Illinois to keep him local and able to spend less time traveling and more time in the gym. And, as an added bonus, he’ll be working with one of the best striking coaches (Duke Roufus), a Ufc champion (lightweight champ Anthony Pettis), and One Fc champion Ben Askren, one of the best wrestlers in Mma, with wrestling being something Punk will need to work hard on.
Of course, Askren was one of the most vocal critics of the Ufc signing Punk, and that should prove to be interesting once the two start actively training together. Askren was snubbed by the Ufc after finishing up his contract with Bellator Mma, where he was their undefeated welterweight champion.

Cm Punk’s move to the Ufc continues to make headlines around the world, and while the news cycle will eventually slow when it comes to this story, it appears it still has legs for now.
The most recent update? Cm Punk has spoken to Rolling Stone in depth about his transition to the Ufc, and addressed critics, One Fc champion Ben Askren, and how he approached wife A.J. Lee with the news that he was planning a run in Mma.
In regards to Askren, who voiced his displeasure rather comically on Twitter about Punk being signed with no experience when the former Bellator champion was told to get some fights in the Wsof by Dana White, Punk had this to say:
My only point on that is, “Don’t be mad at me, Ben. Be mad at [Ufc President] Dana [White].” I’m sure Ben Askren’s a nice guy.

Visit the comments section of many of the major Mma sites and you’ll see some pretty passionate fans questioning the signing of a fighter with no pro experience and limited mixed martial arts training by the world’s premier Mma promotion.
