Azhar Khan was born in the mid-eighties in Mumbai, India. In the nineties, he moved to New York City, where he and his wife still live. He is an actor, writer, and multimedia artist who has worked in a wide array of venues across numerous media platforms, from video installations, theatre, and live comedy to podcasting, television, and film.
His great uncle was the award-winning Indian film actor, screenwriter, producer, and activist Dilip Kumar (born Muhammad Yusuf Khan).
A self-taught guitarist and multi-instrumentalist influenced by jazz, punk, and the avant-garde, Khan plays heavily modified guitars and electronics in the NYC-based band, Screaming Dead Romeos.
Collects books, zines, ephemera, and esoterica on stage magic, mentalism, occultism, and magick.
His ability to seamlessly cycle through countless dialects and character voices at will was initially born out of a boyhood obsession with Looney Tunes and its longtime, lone voice actor Mel Blanc.
He is frequent collaborator of playwright / screenwriter Josh Koenigsberg and filmmaker Henry Joost, both of whom he has known since high school.
