ABC News President Kim Godwin is departing the network, just three months after Debra OConnell was appointed to oversee ABC News operations and evaluate Goodwin’s performance.
Godwin stepped down on Sunday night, announcing her departure in an email to staffers which read, “I have decided to retire from broadcast journalism.”
“Anyone who’s passionate about what we do knows there’s no other business like it, so this was not an easy or quick decision,” Godwin continued. “But after considerable reflection, I’m certain it’s the right one for me as I look to the future and prioritize what’s most important for me and my family.”
“I leave with my head held high and wish the entire team continued success,” Godwin added in her memo to staff.
No successor has been named as Godwin’s replacement at this time. The Wall Street Journal first reported the news on Sunday.

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes admitted they “know how it feels” for their former colleague Rob Marciano to lose his job at ABC and have rumors “upend” their lives.
The couple opened up on their podcast about the World News Tonight and GMA weatherman’s firing, discussing the recent story that made headlines.
During their podcast, the couple shared what they knew of Marciano from working with him and mentioned there were “sketchy” details related to what they’d seen about his firing.

Rumor on the street is that GMA meteorologist Ginger Zee played a part in Rob Marciano’s firing from ABC.
As Monsters and Critics reported, Rob was fired by ABC News, allegedly for losing his temper in a “screaming match” with a Good Morning America producer.
Rob was reported to have a hot temper and “anger management issues,” which may have played a role in him being terminated by the network.
But now, an insider has stated that Ginger Zee helped facilitate Rob’s termination by reporting her colleague.
Ginger reportedly caught wind of Rob’s latest argument with the producer and informed the higher-ups of what went down.
The source, who spoke with The Daily Beast, claimed that Ginger heard about Rob’s scuffle with a GMA producer and reported the incident to “network leadership.”
Because this wasn’t Rob’s first time “crossing the line on set,” Ginger felt her move was justified.

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are no strangers to unceremonious exits from ABC News, so they sympathize with recently ousted meteorologist Rob Marciano, who was fired over alleged “temper” issues. The couple spoke about their “friend and colleague” on the latest episode of their Amy & T.J. ABC News’ longtime meteorologist, Rob Marciano, was let go by the network earlier this week, and now sources are claiming a “heated screaming match” led to his firing. According to The Daily Beast, two sources familiar with the situation claimed Marciano went on a tirade against one of the producers of Good Morning America. The outburst was allegedly overheard by the network’s chief meteorologist, Ginger Zee, who reported the incident to higher-ups, noting that it wasn’t the first time Marciano had crossed the line on set. After Zee reported the on-set argument, management decided they’d heard one too many complaints about Marciano’s behavior over the years and fired him. The Good Morning America host also recognizes his colleagues’ bravery when covering various stories under dangerous or challenging conditions.
He regularly works alongside primary co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos at the GMA desk, who have covered many big stories over the years.
Michael also works with other anchors and personalities, including meteorologists and correspondents such as Ginger Zee, Sam Champion, and Rob Marciano.
Marciano appeared on Friday’s episode of GMA to report on an exciting development in human transportation.
That led to Michael commending his colleague’s bravery for risking his life to present the story to viewers.

When the program opened, viewers saw her primary co-hosts, Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos, at the desk.
Rebecca Jarvis was their replacement co-host for the day, seated in Robin’s usual spot in the middle.
“Good morning, America. Welcome, Rebecca. Let’s take a look,” Stephanopoulos said as they discussed the latest news stories.
Rebecca spoke about the future of transportation as they had a live look at a human-sized drone being flown by a human.
“Rob Marciano is going to fly one coming up,” Rebecca said about the story, but Robin’s whereabouts were not mentioned.
However, the GMA star shared several Instagram updates, including the photo below revealing a night out with others from her workplace, including Gio Benitez and Sam Champion.

The reason for weatherman Rob Marciano’s lengthy Good Morning America absence has been allegedly “revealed”.
Since 2014, Marciano has been employed as ABC’s senior meteorologist, providing extensive weather coverage across the network.
But GMA viewers noticed that Marciano has not been presenting from the studio since November 2022, with many social media users wondering why this was.
It’s now being claimed that Marciano has been “banned” from New York’s Times Square Studios, where GMA is filmed, after allegedly making a colleague feel “uncomfortable”.
A source told Page Six that Marciano was accused of “improper” behaviour and “was punished for it”.
While the alleged incident has not been divulged, it’s been claimed by a separate source that it occurred in the wake of Marciano’s divorce from his wife, Eryn, which was announced in July 2022.
This source said Marciano was struggling with the stress caused by the divorce,...

Roman Kemp has been forced to deny that a recent Creme Egg blunder was a prank.
The Capital Radio DJ revealed on Monday (20 March) that he came across a hybrid version of the Cadbury treat – half of which was milk chocolate and the other half white chocolate.
He put a photo of the Egg on Twitter, alongside the post: “What is this??? Half White Half Milk Chocolate??”
It was after this that his followers informed him that this Creme Egg was part of a promotional deal that could have seen him win up to £10,000. However, the DJ confessed that he had actually eaten it before sharing the tweet.
Six of the eggs are worth £10,000, while three are worth £5,000 – and those who discover one must take a picture with the uneaten Egg in order to win the money.
After admitting to the blunder, Kemp was inundated with posts accusing him of...

ABC News is adding more hours to “Good Morning America.”
After launching an early-afternoon version of the A.M. mainstay in 2018, the Disney-owned network now plans to double the hours of the show’s Saturday broadcast. Starting October 5, Saturday’s “Gma” will air starting at 8 a.m. in nearly 100 markets, including New York, Chicago and Philadelphia. All told, the new two-hour broadcast – anchored by Dan Harris Eva Pilgrim, Whit Johnson and Rob Marciano – will reach 40% of the U.S, though ABC said more stations will air the show in months to come.
All of ABC’s owned-and-operated stations have committed to airing the expanded show by early 2020, after the end of the college football season, ABC News said. At present, the Saturday hour airs at different times in different markets, depending on the needs of local stations.
