Next week TV shows The Bachelor and 9-1-1 will crossover in a special episode. How did the collaboration happen? Keep reading for all the details on the television event of the year.
Joey Graziadei Makes Acting Debut
Joey Graziadei has experience as a leading man on The Bachelor. However, he’s about to jump from reality TV to scripted television with an appearance on 9-1-1. The fourth episode of Season 7 of the First Responder drama will feature a fictional incident at the famous Bachelor mansion.
It may be the last time viewers see the iconic estate. Jenn Tran’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette won’t film there, and it’s unclear if this fall’s Golden Bachelorette will either.

Since The Bachelor is now in its 27th season, it’s safe to say the show is doing something right. That being said, there’s no denying that certain aspects of the show could use some improvement. While there have been changes since The Bachelor’s 2002 debut, one lasting thing that has people puzzled are hometown visits. The general consensus seems to be that they should be scrapped.
What are the Hometown Dates episodes? Hannah Brown and Colton Underwood in ‘The Bachelor’ | Josh Vertucci via Getty Images
Every season, a few of the contestants bring the Bachelor back to their hometown to meet their family and friends. Typically, this is filmed over a series of meet-ups, including plenty of interrogation from the contestants’ parents. While it makes for some interesting reality TV viewing, it doesn’t seem to ever really influence the final decision. And in fact, it can be pretty awkward at times.

It’s been over 20 years since The Bachelor Season 1 premiered on ABC. Alex Michel, a Harvard-educated management consultant from Charlottesville, Virginia, stepped into the spotlight as the show’s first lead. Since then, quite a few things have changed.

In 2023 ABC spreads new episodes of The Bachelor out over the course of two months. Season 27 consists of 10 episodes in total, as well as a Women Tell All and After the Final Rose special. However, back in 2002, the first season of The Bachelor was much shorter. Season 1 consisted of only six episodes in total, with the Women Tell All premiering on the same day as the finale.

Anyone who watches The Bachelor knows that many of the contestants are not there “for the right reasons,” which usually means that they appear on the show to get famous and not to find love. But the contestants aren’t the only ones who bend the truth a bit.
Many reality shows use editing or create storylines to make things more interesting. Some purposefully create drama or certain feuds so that viewers will tune in.
The Bachelor is not the first and will not be the last to push a certain narrative. But who would think that the hometown dates are not 100% real?

For those who have been watching “Bachelor in Paradise” this season, things look different down in Mexico.
For the first time ever, the summer series is not being led by Chris Harrison. Following the longtime host’s controversial departure earlier this year, the gig is being filled by a rotating slew of celebrities: former boy bander Lance Bass, rapper Lil Jon, actor Tituss Burgess, Bachelor Nation alum Wells Adams and comedian David Spade, who kicked off the season earlier this month and ended his quick turn as host on last night’s episode.
Spade, a longtime super-fan of “The Bachelor” who is known for his social media commentary and spoofs of the franchise, tells Variety he was approached by “Bachelor” creator Mike Fleiss about the role — and Spade says he’d be open to more.
“I would swish it around,” Spade quips when asked if he’d return to the franchise for another hosting opportunity.

It's a classic Bachelor moment: a contestant, surprised by an elimination, is captured on camera crying as her one, lonely suitcase gets brought out and loaded up in the car to leave. Given just how many outfits these women seem to wear on screen, we find it hard to believe that they only are allowed to bring one suitcase each! So, what's the truth? Are these women really suitcase-packing wizards, or is this another bit of Bachelor filming trickery?
According to several past contestants, it's the latter, although the "one suitcase" role isn't entirely off base. Courtney Robertson, who won Ben Flajnik's season, wrote in her book I Didn't Come Here To Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain that she was told to limit her luggage to just two suitcases - but not everyone played by the rules. On March 25, 2002, ABC introduced to the world a show that took one man’s search for Ms. Right and, with the help of some alleged post-production trickery and the casting of some beyond wackadoo hopefuls, turned it into a reality-tv phenomenon which has since spawned multiple STDs spin-offs.

The Bachelor franchise's After the Final Rose special always gets a little weird: It's the first time the star and his or her final rose recipient are seen together in public after the show, and it's the first time the star sees the person he or she turned down since filming wrapped. When Chris Harrison couldn't stop asking about Jordan Rodgers' brother. When Rodgers stepped out of that limo on the first night of JoJo Fletcher's season of The Bachelorette,...

True love, destiny and America’s patience were all put to the test Monday night as JoJo Fletcher‘s final decision was stretched over two agonizing hours on The Bachelorette season finale.

And even though it was a somewhat low-stakes choice — handsome former footballer Jordan Rodgers vs. handsome former swimmer Robby Hayes has to be one of the franchise’s safest face-offs yet, right? — we still found ourselves torn over JoJo’s impending decision until the finale’s closing moments. Coming up, the most dramatic rose ceremony ever. If I would have heard Chris Harrison say those words to me in 2008 when Trista Sutter started her search for love or one year ago when Kaitlyn Bristowe went on her quest to find a husband, my reaction would have been the same: Change the freakin' channel now. Sure, I knew the drama surrounding the franchise's biggest moments—who can forget Jason Mesnick breaking Melissa Rycroft's heart for runner-up Molly Malaney or Courtney Robertson going skinny dipping with Ben Flajnik—but I just couldn't agree to spend at least two hours a week on the reality show. But as more and more friends of all ages began every Tuesday morning talking...

On Tuesday night's Bachelorette: Men Tell All special, we got to see all our favorite (and least favorite) contestants from this season of The Bachelorette recap the best moments of the past few weeks.
But really, all the attention was on the three-minute Bachelor in Paradise trailer, which featured Chad Johnson in all his deli-meat-eating glory, Evan bleeding (again) and, of course, plenty of romance (and romantic drama!).
We watched the trailer, and then watched it again (and again and again) to list out all the couples to look out for this season – and the drama that will follow each of them!

Ben Higgins will be on the national stage again soon – but it won't be in a political capacity.
Despite an announcement on Wednesday that the most recent star of ABC's hit show The Bachelor would be facing off in the Denver state House district against Democratic Rep. Dan Pabon (R), the second-ranking member of the House, Higgins withdrew his candidacy on Friday.
"I regret that I must withdraw my candidacy," he said in statement. "Despite my best efforts to pursue this opportunity in good faith, I recently received information that has made such a pursuit unworkable. Due to unforeseen circumstances,...
