Professional women’s collective Dame Changer has announced four projects selected for its accelerator program, Mentor To Market: TV series Edge of the Woods, Family Happiness and Last Frontier, and feature film Blackbirds.
Recipients were selected from a group of 12 teams that participated in Dame Changer’s workshop program Screen Tank in May, which gave insights into financing, sales, marketing, festival and distribution strategies from senior industry specialists, and involved a project market review session. At the conclusion, the teams pitched their projects to distributors in one-on-one meetings and received constructive feedback.

Screen Australia backed four short-form comedies and one drama with close to $500,000 in its most recent online production funding round.
Four of the creative teams are to receive Screen Australia funding for the first time, including producers Karen Colston and Robbie Miles who will create the six-part parody Sarah’s Channel for ABC iview. Claudia O’Doherty (Trainwreck, Love) will star as a beauty vlogger Sarah who discovers she’s been reanimated after an apocalypse. Live performer and theatre playwright Nick Coyle will make the jump to screen to write and direct.

She cites, too, the influence of the original Danish.The Killing, and in particularThe Staircase, the 2004 documentary series chronicling the case of a man accused of killing his wife by deliberately pushing her down the stairs..
As the case progresses, the woman's daughter comes to believe that her mother was indeed murdered.
"The really interesting thing about.The Staircase.to me was the children's perspective", Riakos said.."Imagine going through your life, trusting your parents with everything you have, and next thing you know you have to question everything about them.
