When the Academy Award nominations were announced last month, much of the discussion focused on two so-called “snubs” for Barbie: Greta Gerwig for Best Director and Margot Robbie for Best Actress. Both seemed like locks, since Barbie was one of the biggest films of the year and had been generating awards buzz for months. Added to that, both Gerwig and Robbie would be nominated by their respective guilds, an odds-on sign that they would work their way into Oscar nods. And while plenty have chimed in on the Barbie “snubs”, now Gerwig herself has weighed in, championing her lead.
Speaking with Time, Gerwig said that she was rooting for a Best Actress nomination for Margot Robbie, who added far more dimension to Barbie than we could she ever expected.

Season 14 of Real Housewives of New Jersey is proving to be a doozy, and the episodes have yet to air. Jennifer Aydin and Teresa Giudice believe her wedding was the “rose” of the series last season, while the rest of the cast has other ideas as the new season commences.
Teresa Giudice and Jennifer Aydin agree her wedding was the best part of season 13
At the close of season 13 of Real Housewives of New Jersey, the cast was on opposite sides of the table regarding specific issues. The conflict between Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice came to a head as the women vowed not to speak to one another again.
Lines were drawn in the sand, and some cast members aligned with the women while others tried to remain neutral. As always Jennifer Aydin stuck close to Giudice as a bridesmaid at her wedding and a close friend.

“There was a very long period of time where I just didn’t know if it was a good idea,” she said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I knew, eventually, one day I wanted to maybe just be an actress for a while, and I didn’t know if it would jeopardize things in my life.”
Though she had her doubts about the project and exposing her personal life so publicly, the 31-year-old said that once it finally premiered in November 2022, it felt “like a huge weight was lifted.”

The very online showdown between Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” and Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” all started with a date: July 21.
It’s not uncommon for studios to counterprogram films in different genres on a big weekend, but the stark differences between an intense, serious-minded picture about the man who oversaw the development of the atomic bomb and a lighthearted, candy-coloured anthropomorphizing of a childhood doll quickly became the stuff of viral fodder.
There’s even some disagreement over whether it’s “Barbieheimer” or “Barbenheimer” or “Boppenheimer” or yet another tortured portmanteau — a phenomenon on which the AP Stylebook has yet to offer guidance, but for the purposes of this article will be “Barbenheimer.”
It didn’t hurt that both Nolan and Gerwig have very passionate and very online fandoms eager to join in. Never mind that many of those fans overlap — the memes, allegiances, and T-shirts were just too fun.

It seems nothing can get better in life for Blake Shelton ever since the day he married Gwen Stefani, not even a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On Friday, the country music star was honoured with his very own famous pink star on Hollywood Boulevard and, during his acceptance speech, Shelton used his time on stage to shower his wife, who was there to cheer him on, with a sweet compliment.
“I kind of stopped checking things off my list of great accomplishments in my life when I married Gwen, so this is just icing on the cake,” the singer told the audience.
“I love you so much,” Shelton, 46, told Stefani, “and that’s the great thing that’s happened along this journey.”

In the ’90s, girl groups like Xscape and Swv dominated the radio and charts with hits like “Just Kickin’ It” and “Weak.”
Now in their late forties and early fifties, the members of Xscape and Swv are still kickin’ it, though their legs admittedly might be a little weaker.
TheWrap caught up with the legendary girl groups ahead of their new Bravo docuseries “Swv & Xscape: The Queens of R&b,” which premieres Sunday. The six-episode series will chronicle the two groups as they plan a tour, which hinges on whether they can overcome their interpersonal drama.
How is touring more difficult now than it was when you were first starting out?
Taj: I used to be able to drop it like it was hot 24 hours a day! Now I could drop it almost halfway and I struggle and gotta hold something to get back up.
Coko: I have really bad knees.
