“I’ve been thinking about what you said,” Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) tells Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in tonight’s The Walking Dead series finale, “and if I can ever forgive you.”
I can’t forgive you, even though I am so grateful you saved my son, even though I know that you’re trying,” she tells the man who brutally and gleefully battered her husband to death many seasons ago in the zombie apocalypse series based on Robert Kirkman’s comics. “I’m trying to, because I don’t want to hate you anymore …I don’t want my son to see anyone has that kind of hold on me.”

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details of tonight’s The Walking Dead series finale and more.
“I wanna talk about the future,” says Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) to Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) right near the end of The Walking Dead series finale tonight.
It is a line in the Angela Kang-, Corey Reed- and Jim Barnes-penned “Rest in Peace” episode that launches the bloody and fiery conclusion of AMC’s long-running zombie apocalypse series based on Robert Kirkman’s comic from prose to verse in many ways as spinoffs galore loom.
Coming off a penultimate cliffhanger that saw Judith Grimes (Cailey Fleming) shot by ruthless Commonwealth Governor Pamela Milton (Laila Robins), it is a series finale that saw the ragged Survivors finally defeat the Commonwealth forces and a marauding herd of walkers to form a new community of their own.
However, it was not without cost.

Warning: Don’t open, spoilers inside. Stop here if you haven’t yet watched “The Walking Dead” series finale, which aired Sunday night on AMC.
“The Walking Dead” ended its 11-season and 177-episode AMC run on Sunday night with a hopeful note, as the Commonwealth had entered a period of peace and the show’s stars prepared to go their own ways. But it also closed with a glimpse at what series favorites Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) — who haven’t been seen in a few years — have been up to.
That surprise scene, which sets up the upcoming “The Walking Dead” spinoff starring Lincoln and Gurira, was filmed under complete secrecy on the program’s Georgia studio lot this past summer, after the rest of the show had already wrapped.
“We did a secret shoot, and my whole thing was, can we please keep this one secret from the audience?...

The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 13
When it comes to guest stars, someone over at The Walking Dead is a big fan of The Terminator franchise of movies. In Season 10’s bonus episode, “One More,” the venerable T-1000 himself, Robert Patrick, shows up. Patrick’s turn as the intimidating, dangerous, psychologically-damaged man known as Mays (and his brother Mays) was one of the highlights of the bonus episodes. It’s unsurprising that Patrick, who has become a sci-fi icon, would show up and make a big impression in 25 minutes of screen time. If an idea works once, might as well keep trying it, right? The Walking Dead goes back to the Terminator universe for their next featured guest-star, with Michael Biehn playing the titular warlord in “Warlords.”
Perhaps it’s just my being a mark for Biehn, but it’s an inspired bit of...

So far in season 11 of The Walking Dead, the biggest weapon in the arsenal of the survivors hasn’t been a gun, but the brain. Specifically, the power of observation. Princess used it to good effect to nearly get the group out of Commonwealth processing prison, and now Yumiko is taking the information Princess and others have gathered on the people around them, churns it through her lawyer-trained mind, and comes up with a line of patter so effective it makes Ezekiel’s summation of lead guard Mercer (who I can only call the Pumpkin King due to the color of his armor) look like me taking notes on a television show.

That much is clear to the man who’s been in villain rehabilitation for the past two seasons when he’s drafted to join a group of Alexandrians on a mission to recover the food and supplies the settlement desperately needs after the war with the Whisperers. The journey back to Maggie’s old settlement involves navigating the dark, walker-infested subway tunnels of a city that Negan knows well, but that’s not the only reason he’s been chosen for the mission.
While Maggie will do anything to protect the rest of her people, Negan knows this is a one-way trip for him. He knows that once he’s served his purpose, Maggie plans to kill him…or better yet, leave him for the walkers to feast on. And when he confronts her about it,...

When AMC released the official synopsis for The Walking Dead’s 11th and final season last week, fans could be forgiven for being a little disappointed.
On an action-heavy show known for shambling hordes of corpses and terrifying villains, the description seemed to fall short of final season expectations. After your characters have confronted cultish freaks who wear the skin of the dead to blend in, concepts like food insecurity don’t seem quite so cinematic.
Now, as part of its “11 Weeks of Reveals Until Season 11” of The Walking Dead, AMC has unveiled titles for the final season’s first eight episodes and some additional descriptions of the two-part season premiere. And you know what? The season premiere gets such a cool episode name that food insecurity suddenly sounds a lot more compelling. First, the episode titles…
1101 – Acheron: Part I
1102 – Acheron: Part II
1103 – Hunted
1104 – Rendition
1105 – Out of the Ashes

The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 19

At this point, The Walking Dead is also the walking living, as the two are without car, bicycle, cart, or horse. Every spot on the map marked by Maggie has been a dud, from the freshly burned-down house to the boarded-up mini-mart. Frustration is beginning to set in for Aaron, who is ready to head back home with empty hands. Two weeks of wandering around killing walkers and burning precious calories is a long time to be away from a city trying to rebuild after a war, but Gabriel insists upon one more.

The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 3
One of the most efficient things The Walking Dead season 10 episode 3 “Ghosts” accomplishes is the way it establishes a baseline of exhaustion. Prior to automation, most of what humanity accomplished was achieved via backbreaking, exhausting labor. From growing food to killing enemies, life used to be a lot more work, and in the post-industrial scarcity of The Walking Dead, things are back to being unpleasant and time-consuming. It starts with a couple of kids flirting and killing walkers with sticks, and it ends with a full-fledged war between humans and the natural world around them as personified by the force of nature, the walker.
Even in the best of times in this world, everyone's tired. Even Negan, whose only responsibilities are picking crops and burying bodies,...

There's a surprisingly well-directed interrogation scene on last night’s Gotham. James Gordon sits ex-fiancée Barbara Kean down for a one-on-one conversation. Their dialogue — scripted by episode writer Jim Barnes — is full of cliches, but this sequence is also genuinely stylish and well-paced. You can feel the passage of time through relatively long reaction shots that precede characters' admittedly lousy rejoinders (you know you're in trouble when "It must be killing you, all that righteous indignation with nowhere to go" is what passes for thoughtfully provocative banter). Viewers can similarly feel time passing thanks to the omnipresent buzzing of the overhead halogen bulb, the only apparent source of lighting in the scene (the characters both wear black, and appear to melt into the room's engulfing shadows). These images, and the sheer storytelling craft here — all due praise for episode director Jeffrey Hunt —is engrossing enough that you can zone...

Gotham, Season 2, Episode 8, “Tonight’s the Night”
Written by Jim Barnes
Directed by Jeffrey Hunt
Airs Mondays at 8pm (Et) on Fox
Following the closing moments of “Mommy’s Little Monster”, Gordon had put the pieces together that Galavan was, in fact, responsible for the chaos that Gotham had endured in recent months, a reveal which then forced Galavan to move forward with his plans to convince Bruce to hand over Wayne Enterprises and to activate Barbara to take out Gordon. Throughout the season it has been clear that Galavan had been reluctant to kill Gordon up until now; part of it is explained as him not wanting to upset Bruce before making his plea for Wayne Enterprises and the other part is that he was saving him for Barbara. Finally, today is the day that Barbara is unleashed and her showdown with Gordon is as fun as is to be expected.

The game of cat and mouse between John Pope and Tom Mason won't derail the war effort, but a lone gunman with access to explosives just might. While Tom is off on a wild goose chase, following Pope's directions and going on a tour of post-apocalyptic South Carolina, Weaver and Anne are leading the Second Mass on the big trip to Norfolk Naval Base, to rearm and prepare to take the fight to the Espheni in Charleston, Washington D.C., and beyond. Meanwhile, Tom has thrown off the 'for the good of the many' idea, despite the alien hallucination telling him he needs to focus on saving humanity.
I am a vocal non-fan of the shaky cinema verite/too cheap...

Imagine being a custodial worker in a bunker that’s the last livable place on Earth. The air outside is unbreathable, and a select group of humans are in cryogenic slumber around you. This is life for workers Bauer and Cartwright, but great responsibility and a dark secret could threaten to destroy their sanity and the human race. Produced by Robert Kirkman and starring Norman Reedus, Air now has an official release date for late this summer. Also featured in our latest round-up is a bit of good news for Revolution fans and the cover art and synopsis for another unexpected showdown in Riverdale.
Air: Scheduled for an August 14th theatrical release, Air is the first feature film from Skybound Entertainment. Joining Reedus in the movie is Djimon Hounsou (Gladiator, Blood Diamond,Fast & Furious 7), who plays Cartwright opposite Reedus’ Bauer. Christian Cantamessa (co-writer of the video game, Red Dead...

Revolution, Season 2, Episode 18: “Austin City Limits”
Written by Paul Grellong & Jim Barnes
Directed by Helen Shaver
Airs Wednesdays at 8pm (Et) on NBC
It was never going to end well when Jason reteamed with the Matheson/Monroe alliance (which we’ll just call the Alliance from now on). He stepped out of the darkness and into their camp with crucial intelligence on the Austin meeting point for the Patriots’ cadets. It took some convincing, but eventually the Alliance brought him into the fold to stop whatever it is the Patriots are up to in Austin, albeit with his hands bound.
There’s plenty of foreshadowing for the closing moments. As Jason commands the Alliance to shoot him if he moves even an inch out of line, the cadet trainer reminds him how dangerous he can be. The stony efficiency with which he dismantles the countermeasures in the Patriots’ Austin...

Revolution, Season 2, Episode 12: “Captain Trips”
Written by Paul Grellong & Jim Barnes
Directed by Steve Boyum
Airs Wednesdays at 8pm (Et) on NBC
After weeks and weeks of rampant plotting, Revolution takes its foot off the gas and finally gives us all a breather.
“Captain Trip” is a marked change in pace from what we’re used to and doesn’t feature much in the way of action outside of a few violent flurries, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing as it allows us to take stock and absorb what’s going on.
The typhus plague introduced in “Mis Dos Padres” absorbs most of the main characters in the A-plot, with Rachel jumping in to help Gene and Charlie get to the bottom of the problem, while Miles, Monroe, and Connor monitor this situation from outwith the quarantine camp. It’s set up like a procedural: there’s...

Revolution, Season 1, Episode 19: “Children of Men”
Written by David Rambo and Jim Barnes
Directed by Frederick E. O. Toye
Airs Mondays at 10 pm (Et) on NBC
It’s clearer than ever that Revolution wants to be The Walking Dead. While it can match the apocalyptic AMC series on the maudlin interpersonal drama stakes, it will never be quite as pulpy or as gore-filled as the zombie show. It feels like NBC’s pushing the limits on what some may perceive an acceptable level of viscera for a network series, between the somewhat graphic mending of Rachel’s leg in “The Longest Day” and the blood splattering everywhere when someone is hit with the electromagnetic grenades this time around.
Speaking of which, that we’ve moved from swords, improvised guns, and arrows to electromagnetic grenade launchers and helicopters in under a season is telling of the show’s lack of interest in its central conceit.

Revolution, Season 1, Episode 9: “Kashmir”
Written by Charles Beeson
Directed by Jim Barnes
Airs Mondays at 10 pm (Et) on NBC
There’s a massive problem in “Kashmir” which derails the main premise of the train-tunnel-set episode. Having the central characters hallucinate over a lack of air is one thing, but to do it in miles and miles of a tunnel system which had been open to the outside until minutes before is preposterous. It’s poor writing, and lets down what is otherwise an entertaining outing.
The hallucinations themselves give an intriguing insight into our heroes’ innermost regrets and fears. Miles frets that he’d accept an invitation to rejoin the Militia if offered to him; Aaron is wracked with guilt over the wife he abandoned. Nora has a slightly more impersonal if violent hallucination, and Charlie’s isn’t really a result of the oxygen outage, yet shows us...

It has seemed like forever since that awesome late-January cliffhanger that Nikita left us to dwell on: Michael waiting for Nikita in her homebase, having analyzed Alex’s phone conversation to place her at Nikita’s location. However, don’t fret because that hiatus is coming to a close. On April 7th, the CW show gets back into the saddle with Covenants.
Michael (Shane West) confronts Nikita (Maggie Q) in her lair and reveals that he knows Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) is the mole. He tells Nikita that she has 24 hours to find Kasim (guest star Haaz Sleiman), the man who killed Michael’s family, or he will tell Percy (Xander Berekley) about Alex. Eagle Egilsson directed the episode written by Jim Barnes.
Check out some stills from the episode and make sure to tune in on April 7.
