Deathstroke is one of the most fearsome comic book villains with an equally riveting and emotional story arc. The character has also made several live-action appearances, mostly notably in the Arrowverse and Justice League. Deathstroke was also the main villain in the second season of DC’s Titans.
Deathstroke in a still from Titans (2018–2023)
While Deathstroke is known for being one of Teen Titans’ most revered villains, the live-action series failed to do justice to his comic arc. In the comics, Deathstroke’s hatred for the team of superheroes is much more deeply rooted and emotional but the Titans squandered the potential of what could have been a compelling storyline for television.

In a summer where the off-the-boards success of original movies including Barbie and Oppenheimer is all the rage, the seventh-or so feature film iteration of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise wasn’t one with great expectations. Except when you read the credit block and discover the co-writers and producers are none other than Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and the director is Jeff Rowe, who most recently was an Oscar nominee for the wildly inventive animated hit The Mitchells vs The Machines.

This Titans season 4 article contains spoilers.
With shows like Loki and movies like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Marvel has established itself as the source for multiverse stories in television and film. But comic book fans know that Marvel was relatively late to the multiverse game, having been beaten to the punch several decades earlier by the DC story “The Flash of Two Worlds.”
So it was more than a little satisfying to see Gar Logan aka Beast Boy take a trip through the Red that connects all of the DC worlds in the ninth episode of Titans fourth and final season, “Dude, Where’s My Gar.” As Gar (Ryan Potter) moves through the Red, we get glimpses of various other DC properties, including Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) of Stargirl, Swamp Thing (Derek Mears) from the short-lived 2019 series, as well as he and Cyborg’s animated counterparts from Teen Titans Go!.

Right after the midseason break, “Titans” returned with back-to-back episodes showing the team getting trapped inside the mystical realm of Caul’s Folly and navigating their way out of it. Sebastian and May got their hands on the Horn of Trigon, which can allow them to bring back the interdimensional multiversal demon into the earthly realm. However, in these two episodes, the disappearance of Garfield Logan, aka Beast Boy, irked fans the most, and even though the team was saved from the destructive powers of Brother Blood only through Gar’s assistance, they had no idea where he could be. The ninth episode of this final season, titled “Dude, Where’s My Gar?” not only answers that question but also takes Garfield Logan on a journey of self-discovery, which entails numerous multiversal clues and possibly is the best episode of the entire series itself. The episode, directed by legendary comics...

It wouldn't be Titans without an exposition-heavy hour that took us away from the central conflicts.
Titans Season 4 Episode 9 will go down as one of the show's most polarizing hours because much of the developments should have happened sooner.
Gar's abilities have been the topic of much debate since the beginning of the series, and one of the biggest complaints about Titans has been how the abilities of our key players are handled.
What are the chances the series will end with a big battle involving everyone using their powers to their full potential?
The series has relied on this family theme, despite everyone tackling something deeply personal preventing them from being happy, so it has to end with everyone coming together, right?
Gar has always struggled with a sense of belonging, and even though he masked his insecurities with wit, it was interesting that the show finally leaned into his true potential.

James Gunn says don’t blame him for the recent cancellations of Doom Patrol and Titans.
Warner Bros.-Discovery has announced that both shows will end with their fourth seasons, offering two legs of six episodes for a total of 12 shows to close things out.
The cancellations were seen by some as part of the changes Gunn and Peter Safran are bringing to DC Studios as they attempt to redevelop its faltering Universe.
“The decision to end the series precedes us,” Gunn said on Twitter. “But I certainly wish the best for the talented group of creators, actors, and the rest of the crew that produced both shows.”
Gunn posted in response to an angry fan who blamed Gunn and Safran, saying they have “a mighty big hill” to climb to win the affection of fans.
Doom Patrol stars Brendan Fraser, Matt Bomer, April Bowlby, Diane Guerrero, Joivan Wade and Michelle Gomez.

It was announced yesterday that HBO Max had cancelled Titans and Doom Patrol after four seasons, which prompted some fans to place the blame on James Gunn and Peter Safran. As the pair became co-chairmen and CEO’s of DC Studios late last year, you would think that they did have a hand in ending Titans and Doom Patrol, but James Gunn took to Twitter to say that the decision to end both shows actually preceded their appointments.

Warner Bros.-Discovery delivered another gut punch to DC fans with the announcement that fan-favorite comic book shows “Doom Patrol” and “Titans” are ending with their fourth seasons. The final seasons of both series consist of 12 episodes split into two six-episode chunks. James Gunn, who now leads DC Studios along with Peter Safran, announced on Twitter that the shows’ cancellations had nothing to do with the overhauled DC Universe that the two creatives are currently developing.

Based on the DC Comics characters, the live-action superhero drama centers on the core team of Nightwing aka Dick Grayson (Thwaites); Rachel Roth aka Raven (Croft); Koriand’r aka Starfire (Diop); and Garfield Logan aka Beast Boy (Potter). These heroes band together to form the Titans and fight off a powerful enemy while winding up working as a surrogate family. Even superheroes can’t defeat the looming threat of a series finale. “Titans” and “Doom Patrol,” two live-action series based on DC Comic book characters, will end after their respective ongoing fourth seasons, IndieWire has confirmed.
The two series have an interesting development history, beginning as original programs for DC Universe, a streaming platform focused on superhero content, launching their first seasons in 2018 (for “Titans”) and 2019 (for “Doom Patrol”). After HBO Max launched, DC Universe was rebooted as a free comics subscription service, and the shows moved to the new streamer. “Titans” premiered its fourth and now final season this November, while “Doom Patrol’s” launched in December; both seasons consists of 12 episodes split into two six-episode parts, with the final batches of episodes set to premiere at unannounced dates.

The HBO Max-dc live-action series “Titans” and “Doom Patrol” will both end with their current fourth seasons at the streaming service, Variety has learned.
According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, both productions were aware that these would be their final seasons some time ago and thus both will have definitive endings. That same individual stressed that these decisions were not part of the infamous cost-cutting decisions undertaken since the Warner Bros.-Discovery merger under David Zaslav that has seen a number of projects scrapped, including the nearly-completed “Batgirl” film.
The fourth seasons of both “Titans” and “Doom Patrol” consist of 12 episodes, split into two six-episode chunks.

This post contains spoilers for the fourth season of "Titans."
The fourth season of "Titans" is not perfect by any means, but it's a sizeable step up from previous years. The titular superhero team finally has some sort of rhythm, and a change of scenery to Metropolis is proving to be a locale worth exploring. The addition of a few iconic Teen Titans villains doesn't hurt, either. But the mid-season finale has arrived, and folks, it's finally happened. After three seasons of morphing into a tiger (and the occasional bat), Beast Boy (Ryan Potter) has finally spread his wings and turned into something even cooler.
As a longtime "Titans" watcher, I was almost content with the fact that Beast Boy would always turn into a tiger, and the occasional bat or snake. But his character development remained ever so stagnant, until now. In season 4, "Titans" finally gives Beast Boy the time of the day,...

The live-action Titans series has been flawed from the get-go by presenting us with a Dick Grayson that the writers woefully misunderstand. There is no comic book creator who ever depicted Grayson in this manner so it sets the wrong tone. Its low-budget when created for the short-lived DC Universe streaming service didn’t help.
And yet, it has staggered through three seasons, with a fourth now streaming on HBO Max. Just last week, Warner Home Entertainment released Titans: The Complete Third Season on Blu-ray (no DVD or 4K).
We pick up from the end of season two with the team mourning the death of Donna Troy (Conor Leslie), they are jarred to discover that now Jason Todd (Curran Walters) has been murdered by the Joker. Titans heads to Metropolis in Season 4, and for executive producer Greg Walker, when it came to that decision, it was simple: “We said, where do we want to go next? We were in an Rv, and we were heading to San Francisco. We had to go someplace. It was Vegas or Metropolis.” Walker and series stars Ryan Potter (Gar Logan/Beast Boy), Brenton Thwaites (Richard “Dick” Grayson/Robin/Nightwing), and Joshua Orpin (Conner Kent/Super Boy) and executive producer Greg Walker sat down with Damian Holbrook in TV Insider and TV Guide Magazine’s studio at New York Comic Con 2022 to tease what’s ahead — other than that supernatural cult with powers they’ll be facing — with the HBO Max series returning on November 3. If there is one superhero show that has outlasted its expiration date, it may be "Titans." After three seasons, it seems the gritty affair will indefinitely struggle to land its lofty ambitions in a satisfying way. Despite some great ideas and themes, I've found myself wanting a lot more out of the series by the time the credits roll in each season finale. But here we are, another season is well on its way and approaching quicker than ever (or at least it feels like it).
Judging by the recent trailer, "Titans" may just be finding its stride in balancing zany superhero stuff and a horror-tinged storyline. However, I know what promises are worth. Expectations aren't sky-high this time around,...

Apple TV+ revealed the official trailer today for Season 2 of “Slow Horses,” the Gary Oldman thriller series that follows a team of British intelligence agents. The second season premieres globally on the streaming service Dec. 2 with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode each week after that for the duration of the six-episode season.
And if there’s any confirmation of what fans can anticipate from Season 2, it’s that “more people are going to die,” according to a voice-over in the trailer from returning star Jack Lowden.
In the new season of “Slow Horses” (which is adapted from Mick Herron’s sequel novel “Dead Lion”), when exposure of previously-concealed Cold War secrets creates tension between Russia and Britain, the spies are again tasked with protecting society from inevitable catastrophe. Although the fate of Titans may be up in the air, fans still have another season of the DC series to look forward to. HBO Max has released the official trailer for Titans season 4, which introduces one of the big baddies of the DC Universe — Lex Luthor.

With three seasons under its belt, "Titans" returns to HBO Max next month to face supernatural cults, maniacal supervillains, and a very familiar face. In anticipation of its November debut, the streaming service has released a full-length trailer that pulls the veil over the jam-packed season. Among many things, the introduction of Lex Luthor (Titus Welliver), who finds himself at the center of the Cult of Blood, as well as the live-action debut of Brother Blood (Joseph Morgan). Moreover, an antagonist from the second season finally makes his long-awaited return, and I'm personally glad he's back.

The official trailer for Titans Season 4 is here, and it looks like a major step up from Titans Season 3.
The team goes toe-to-toe with plenty of villains, including Lex Luthor (Titus Welliver), Brother Blood (Joseph Morgan), and plenty more.
Lex is a considerable presence in the trailer as Welliver promises to deliver a different iteration of Lex.
“Welcome to the ancient world, Mr. Luthor. Soon the gods will know your name," we hear someone say.
“I can assure you — the gods already know me," Lex fires back.
Franka Potente is also on board as Mother Mayhem, and it looks like this villain came prepared.
