Jason Delaney(I)
- Writer
Jason Delaney holds a BFA in creative writing from the University of British Columbia, and is a produced screenwriter in both feature film and television. In a previous life he played with bugs, bears and helicopters working as a mineral prospector in Northern British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories. He completed more than two-hundred helicopter insertions to some of the roughest most isolated places on the planet, making his way above the Arctic Circle in 2006. Highlights included being the sole passenger (along with 22 barrels of jet-B aviation fuel) on a Douglas Dakota that was used in the Berlin Airlift. He's come out on the good end of multiple Grizzly Bear encounters, and more black bear encounters than he can remember. He once had an entire pack of wolves run through his camp. A severe knee injury (ruptured patella tendon) and subsequent two-year rehabilitation caused him to rejig his business model and focus on freelance screenwriting and media production, where running water and electricity and other such creature comforts exist aplenty. He is married with two kids, two cats, and a used Volvo, drinks his coffee black, and has a strange affinity for bossa nova music of the mid-sixties.
