Asaf B. Goldfrid

Asaf B. Goldfrid (born 12 January 1992) is a British/Israeli stage and screen actor. He landed his small screen debut with Ireland's prime time drama series Fair City. His portrayal of handyman Avi Bar-Lev, a complicated lone wolf, in over 90 episodes touched a wide audience and awarded him great reviews.
Asaf was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, the youngest of five brothers of Italian/French and Romanian parents. Asaf's paternal grandparents immigrated from Bucharest, Romania, while his maternal grandparents fled Livorno, Italy during World War II. After majoring in theatre in high school Asaf completed his national service with the Israeli Intelligence Forces before choosing to pursue a career in acting.
In 2006 Asaf moved to Dublin, Ireland to train at The Gaiety School of Acting, Ireland's premier drama school. Soon after he landed his first role with Ireland's prime time drama series Fair City.
Asaf's next major milestone followed with the role of Jesus, starring in Mankind: The Story of All of Us. Filmed in Morocco and over two years in the making, this global docudrama series is one of the most in-depth television events ever produced for the History Channel, and it explores humankind's fight for survival on a harsh brutal planet. Mankind was broadcast simultaneously in over 150 countries, and in more than 30 languages.
An avid vegan and environmentalist, Asaf has been practicing yoga since he was a teenager: "When people ask, I usually say I've been practicing yoga in the bigger portion of my life. It's true, I took my first yoga class when I was 14, and while yoga and I have seen our ups and downs, it's been the backbone to my physical and mental health since I was a teenager."
He resides in London and Tel Aviv.
